 So the importing is bunk.
I looked at an olf forum post that said the profile had to be on the same device as the saves. so I moved my profile back onto the HD and still nothing. I even went back into ME1 and re-saved a file. So I think what has happened is if your save file isn't at the Saren boss fight, right where you beat the game, NO IMPORT.
You can't have a character that's just beaten the game and on a second or third play through.
So I guess I gotta play through ME1 all over again then. thanks a ****ing alot.

I've been having the same problem and I have a ton of ME1 saves and not one shows up on the importer. This shouldn't be this difficult! Cross game data importing is nothing new and they can't even do that right? There is no good reason why the save data must be in a certain spot of the story. I really do expect higher quality from BioWare.

In short, this is really disappointing... and it seems the death touch of EA strikes again. If any of the BioWare staff actually care enough to read any of this, PLEASE FIX THE IMPORTER! We all know you can!

Yeah I was a retard and didn't finish my third play though. nothing to import, no decisions made. Just my level 60 character sitting on Eden Prime. Don't I fell like a douche.

Well its true. I just replayed from the later part of Ilos to the end fight with Saren. The Importer then realized my save. Apparently it must be the autosave made after completing the game. I'm just glad I had a save that wasn't too far from the end.

Well, if any of you are having this issue on the PC version you have to use the configure utility in the startup menu. I was having this issue earlier

Thanks for testing out the Saren fight Scorpio, I had read that a few places but nobody had said they succeeded yet. I luckily have some saves at the boss fight, now maybe I can get a game where the council lived.

I had something similar like that happen to me, except it would only let me carry my "good guy" game save over while it didn't even recognize my "evil guy" save.

Glad I read up on this. I just installed my ME2 disc 1, booted it up, downloaded my new content, then failed to import any of my ME1 characters. Unfortunately I don't have ME1 anymore so I'm downloading it now on demand (360). Quite bummed. At least I have saves at the end so I can beat it real quick (and off the council).

I have 8 saved games and 2 of them are complete. Utility tells me that it cannot find any completion data. What sucks is I went ahead and just fired up a new game and when it looked like I was about o get to design my new toon, the game froze and I had to hard power down. Could not even get to the dashboard. I really hope there is a patch on the way, because this is the worst Bioware experience I have had. I do not want my faith in them killed with a game I have waited 2+ years for.
