What lacked in Inquisition was the lack city to visit. Outside of redcliffes there's no city/village at all. Yes there's Val-Royeaux, but so small. In Origin you had Denerim, Lothering, Red Cliffes and Orzammar and Amanrantine in the expansion.. I think what lacked in Inquisition was place like this. I hope they add a city in a future DLC or expansion. It suck also we can't venture outside the wall of Skyhold. My favorite part of the game was between Haven and Skyhold. We need more moment like this.
It would be fun to visit another Dwarven city or Antiva City. I was so excited in the storm coast when you see that huge dwarf statues. I though we could maybe enter a dwarf city.. But no.
I also hate .. HATE the loading screen in Inquisition and all those black letter format. I wonder why they haven't done like they did in Origin ? ( The map travelling thing and the coffea letter font). It was such a good idea. I enjoyed random encounter while travelling between two spot . Hell they could added how much you have been travelling and how many miles you have walked. Little thing like.. Your biggest crit or the biggest monster you have killed. They removed all of this. All of this added to Origin. Inquisition feel ... lifeless in many area.
All little thing that make roleplaying nicer. Anyway
Rant over.

It made me love DA2 and miss DA2 so much, and yes DA2 was WAY better than Inquisition. Specially Legacy and Mark of Assassin which are far better than the main story (well now we know that Legacy is the true main story)

No. It made me realise just how bad DA2 is. i honestly can't think of a single redeeming quality.
The Keep really hammered home just how bad it is tbh...It takes you through DA:O and it made me realise how great the story is, with really interesting side quests and decisions, then it got to DA2 and nothing of note has to be decided at all...every side quest boils down to 'did you kill XXXX'. Anything that happens in DA2 that has any relevance to Inquisition is easily explained within the first act of the game. DA2 is pointless.
...and before anyone starts going on about Corypheus:
1. Legacy was a dlc
2. You don't learn anything about him you don;t learn from Inquisition anyway, and in a better way(you do play as the Inquisitor remember, who has never heard of him, and Hawke turns up to fill in the gaps)..

Looks like you are one of those small number of DA fans who considers DA 2 > DAO.DA2 > DAO
DAI > DAO
Sure they can.

I liked DA2 to start with, despite its flaws. So no, my view of it hasn't really changed.
I liked DA2 to start with too, but now I appreciate what it did even more than before. Origins is still the one I've played most (and it's fun just to replay certain Origin stories).
I am a bit sad they don't include the DLC automatically in DA2. Bought it for 3 bucks as part of a sale which is nice, but EA should have produced an Ultimate Edition. Or include Legacy at the LEAST.

Things I like better are
the sidequests(especially)
the atmophere(the art and soundtrack)
The villains.
The qunari(looked less cartoony, also I miss their claws)
The factions (DAI has sidelined every important faction in the southern thedas, they were all damsels in distress)
The Protagonist(Inquisitor is too unbelievable)
(Sorry,writing this on my phone)

Each DA has it's own pros and cons. The perfect game for me would be if they mixed the combat of Origins, and the character depth and banter of DA2, with the size and scope of Inquisition. Now that would be and awesome Dragon Age.

Not really to be honest. It made me value a few things more but it also made me realise that I really was not fond of a few things either.

Deffinatly... I actually played the first hour or so of DA2 last night, and the story/characters still felt more involving to me then everything DAI threw at me over 80+ hours... I also liked the artstyle better, but I guess that's personal preference.

DA2 has always been a good game. Some people are just whiny pissbabies who expected something else and don't appreciate what it does differently. We all deserve the DA2 that could have been, the DA2 that Bioware wanted to make, but that's never going to happen unless EA miraculously decides it should be given a rehash to better fill the gap between DA:O/DA:I.
As it is, DA2 is a decent RPG-action hybrid with a claustrophobic feel and an undervalued, underdog hero that never seems to get a break. That's interesting to me.
Also, DA2 had Fenris. Feeeeenris.

Yes, because I remember not having to wade through 70 to 80 hours to essentially finish content that is only good for 40 hours.

I definitely appreciate DA2 much more now. The combat mechanics in DA2 were far far superior to the crap we have in DA:I. If we could have DA:I's story, locations and characters, with DA2's combat I would be very happy.
(The game would still not be perfect though since DA:I has a serious problem with pacing imho.)

It made me remember how disjointed the storyline was in DA2. It's like 3 short stories about the same characters with nothing else really connecting them. I prefer what happened in DAO and DAI where it was an established enemy from more or less the start and you were building a power capable of taking them on. DAI also has more larger and beautiful environments with a variety something DA2 did not have 90% of the game was in Kirkwall which never once changed at all through the game even though it was supposed to be 10 years. The lack of customization and crafting in DA2 also makes it lose out the one thing DA2 did better was character arcs. The characters and companions are actually very good and get a lot of backstory and development.

Exactly... you can say whatever you will about DA2s combat/character systems, but the story and quests (even the minor ones) did a great job to transport the feeling of what it's like to live a heroes life in Kirkwall... and the narrative structure of the "story being told" was great. As it stands, I didn't care for most of the aside stuff in DAI to the point I already forgot about most of it only 48 hours after finishing the game... what remains is a very short, moderatly exciting tale about a "crisis" I never really experienced.

Quite the opposite. It makes DA2 even more pathetic because we see that DAO was not a fluke, the DA team can make great games and tell stories that make sense. They simply chose not to in that catastrophe of a title. Which makes it sad.

DA2 is my second favorite in the series, Inquisition is my first. So did Inquisition make me appreciate DA2 more? No, because I already loved DA2.

It's hard to say, because I really like Inquisition. I mean, the controls took some getting used to, but once I did everything came together wonderfully. I love the characters, the world, and I am hopelessly addicted to crafting.
I do miss Hawke, though, and the more personal touch having a main character like Hawke gave the story. The Inquisitor is as much a concept as they are a person, and sometimes I feel like Varric in missing the real connection Hawke had with her companions who were more than companions- they were blood and kin. Plus, DA2 had an undeniable urgency to it. Yeah, you could still screw around a lot but they managed to build tension throughout the game to where you can actually feel everything on the verge of collapse in Act 3. DAI has a lot of amazing setpieces and really cool quests, but I never felt overwhelmed by the Inquisitor's task the way I felt overwhelmed by Kirkwall's ****ery.
So...yeah, I guess. But I've always liked DA2. And I still like DAI (and the Inquisitor). I just think DA2 had a lot more going for it than most people realized.
