Does anyone know if this is a simple bug that BioWare neglected to patch? Or is this canon no matter what?

Could you describe exactly what it is that indicates Alistair to be the King? If it's just the one-off line in Redcliffe Castle when you try to talk him into the Dark Ritual, yeah, that's a known bug. I got that too. My Cousland was still made clear to be on the throne in the epilogue and in Awakening.

Alistair appears in Awakening as king and everyone addresses him as such. The text/epilogue sequence didn't refer to me as king either, it made it seem as though Anora was ruling alone. I made all of the correct decisions to become king; I arranged the marriage with Anora before the Landsmeet, I had Alistair execute Logain, I declared that I would rule alongside her afterwards... After defeating the Archdemon she did refer to me as her husband but for whatever reason Alistair appears as the king of Fereldan in Awakening... Any thoughts?

In Awakening, was your warden referred to as king? What exactly happened in your endgame?

My King Cousland saw Anora in Awakenings and she referred to him as 'husband'.  Game ended with him going back to Denerim and being greeted by her as such as well.

Sounds like you encountered a bug.  May I ask what platform you are on and did you download the latest patches for the game?

I play on PC.

I play on Xbox 360 and after doing some searching it seems that this is a bug specific to the Xbox version of the game. :( Apparently the only way to resolve the issue is to spare Loghain and cause Alistair to become a wandering drunk. I suppose I won't be finishing Awakening... Hopefully Inquisition will acknowledge that my Warden is king!

You'll make that determination in the Keep, which doesn't take plot flags into account. Bugs like this were why they changed the system, so your Inquisition playthrough should be fine.

I don't know why it did that to my font size.

yes, it's a bug i  belive.

but if you play awakening the games still consider you as kig-consort and alistair as warden.
