Is anyone else just not playing until they fix the banter bug?

Of all the reasons to stop playing. i have a combat bug that occasionally causes me to be unable to fight and target my companions instead of enemies. It's horrible but i like playing too much to stop.
Had that happen the other night, my mage Inquisitor had to switch tactics or I would have lost Cas; after the battle I did a close and restart and things were fine.

Party banter is least of their worries in terms of glitches, the broken quest triggers are far worse especially ones which can happen on main quests and companion quest which is what happened to me meaning I could not complete a (important) companion story, others unable to complete the game when happened on main quests for them. Not to mention the massive amount of crashes people have had especially on PC version, including the glitch with actual interactive dialogue which prevented people even interacting with people in game and missing out on a lot of important dialogue. Bioware QA failed big time and still no word on an ETA for patches to fix the problems.

I've temporarily stopped playing because I have a bug where the dialogue in the main-quest I'm currently in doesn't function properly.

1. Unplug or disable your internet before starting the game
2. If you enter the War Room, fast travel from there via the table - DON'T go back into skyhold then travel
3. Enjoy banter and in-zone music
4. Shake your head in exasperation that BioWare doesn't think it's bugged
5. Repeat 1- 4 as necessary. Especially 4.
Personally, I just want the voice bug fixed but hey. It's only been what, like a month now that they've known about it? ![]()

I'm waiting for the gender bug and the banter bug to be sorted out as a patch and not a 'fix' where immersion is lost because you're having to think more about the fix and less about the game.
I would also like them to take their time and get it right, because I am a fairly patient person and I do have other things to do.
I'm not bothered that I bought the game two weeks ago either, because it now costs £10 more than it did then.

Game was fun for me while it lasted, but I refuse to play a Bioware game without party dialogue.
I would get a refund, but i feel like the game was worth the money, its just bugged to ****.
Anyone else gunshy about playing due to banter bug or any other issues?
Really? You refuse to play the game without party dialogue? Maybe...uh, you should look at your priorities?
Haven't they determined there isn't a bug for party banter? So you may be waiting a while! ![]()

No, I'm playing and intend to continue playing the game; when the banter is fixed it'll be something new to discover. Until then I'm enjoying the terrain, chatting up NPCs and learning game mechanics.
What game mechanics are there to learn? You go place to place pressing your hotbar buttons until the bad guys fall over, then you click what you want to say about it.

Yeah I saw this.
I also saw PCgamer say they had acknowledged it and were working on fixing it.
So who knows.

If you do that, you end up with the Drums of Skyhold bug. I can't handle war drums throughout Skyhold, all the time.

Dont take this at face value, they actually have mentioned the next 3 patches in production, the closest leaving QA very shortly. I agree the party dialogue seems to be a problem, however I myself being in the game, not knowing I'm missing out on dialogue has literally effected my play 0%. I mean, if this is what you play the game for ok, but if you really think about it. Not even knowing why or when you are missing dialogue, wouldnt you just asusme there is none? And continue on your merry way? Then the next time you play and it's "fixed". You'll be THAT much happier because you have it, like extra content you didnt even know about.
Long story short, sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Mine actually got worse now my characters are running on the spot and can't move regardless of rotation, fade rifts don't close and potions only heal 1 bar of health if they work at all, barrier doesn't work nor do the related abilities, 50 hours in and my second play through is unplayable.
I'd gladly swap for a banter bug, so if anyone want's to trade PS4's let me know.

You refuse to play the game because of a possible banter bug?
Are you serious, or is this a joke thread?
note: I have banter on PC platform.
further note: since when is background idle banter a requirement for any game?
come on... this is a joke, right? ![]()

It's a major part of the characters establishment and development, especially when it comes to their feelings about the other companions. Without it, you barely get to experience the characters differing philosophies, and get little sense of camaraderie or character progression. The banter dialogue probably used up a sizeable portion of their word budget. There's tonnes of it.
I suspect you would feel differently if you didn't have it.

Also seemed to help how the game was running in general, must have them all cached up or something.
Course it took a really long time for all those quest completed messages to run through lol.

To each their own, but I do recommend exploring the crafting mechanics.

Reminds me of the Oblivion A-Bomb bug.

So is the banter bug related to the SAME banter repeated ad infinitum bug that I have? I always use the same party (unless swapping someone out for a specific reason).
I get this bit of banter multiple times an hour, sometimes within seconds.
Solas: "Varric, you fought XXXXXXXXX once before..."
Varric: "not my fondest memory but..."
I get this this as well is this the banter bug? seriously the game should remember played banter

I've noticed there's a heck of a lot less party banter. But I'm not getting none either.
Cassandra: Varric? How do you word your stories so interestingly? Whenever I try to write something it's never as good."
Varric: "or dull and boring? You mean to tell me you actually write Seeker?"
Cassandra: "you're an arsehole Varric."
Varric: "laughs. Well there's a new word for you seeker."

You have banter that's great, many people don't.
Banter isn't idle it's part of the game and is essential in a player's relationship with the companions. Would Baldur's Gate have been so memorable without Minsc's banter? I don't think so.

Like I said, didn't Bioware determine there is no bug?
I think different people just have a different acceptance for the amount of banter in the game.

For me, it may take hours between two banters, even when I rotate the squad I have with me. While I may get banter once in a while, I believe the time between them is too long. Then again, the RNG gods do hate me.

I haven't gotten to Skyhold yet, but I did back out of the war table in Haven and then go back in and fast travel a moment later. Does that seem to cause bugs for some people?

I've shelved it. The voice actor switch when you meet Varic's friend is unavoidable for me. Along with this party banter bug, I just can't play the game until it's fixed.
This patch better come out soon, almost been 3 weeks since release now.

I'll still play this game and enjoy it despite its bugs and flaws. Maybe I'm just a bit more relaxed than some of the others getting up in arms about this game, although I'm not saying that they're wrong to voice their criticisms or displeasures. Coming from someone who played Destiny for a while and seeing how terribly Bungie is messing up right-and-left almost continuously, yeah... a banter bug is really not that big of a deal to me. I love the story, I love the characters, and I love how this game turned out exactly how I expected it to (minus the bugs).
Sorry the game has become unplayable for you though but to each their own.
