I've mentioned a couple of times that I'd be down with an expansion set in Kal-Sharok featuring the Hero of Ferelden as a guest companion.

Who do you propose should be the player controlled character?

Because I for one will be down with the HoF appearing as a companion (ala Hawke in DAI) too. As long as the story is good and the ending is happy.

Although I do think making the HoF a companion will be tougher than making them the PC.

No?

You mean I don't expect that?

That odd. Can you tell me what I want for Christmas, too? I would hate to get that wrong.

The Inquisitor. The Inquisitor takes his/her crew to the insular Dwarven city of Kal-Sharok. From there they mount a deep roads expedition with the purpose of investigating red lyrium, Primeval Thaigs, and the Blight. The Warden who is researching the Calling is also in Kal-Sharok because all the Dwarves there are rumored to be immune to the Taint.

Throw in some Dwarven politics. Add some side stuff with Varric/Bianca and Morrigan/Leliana (if the Warden makes the cut) as playable companions. Make 3-5 new areas including the city of Kal-Sharok as a hub. Throw in some Carta side quests. We've got a decent 15-20 hour expansion on our hands.

This gives me happy feelings. I would love this.

I wonder if DA:4 or 5 will allow you to choose between Inquisitor/Hawke/HoF... probably not given how many voice actors that would require (although: See SWTOR).  But it'd be pretty cool.  I mean, it was sort of the beginning of the Inquisition, after all (Leliana and Cassandra finding an Inquisitor).  OR, to satisfy all of the people, make it a choice between OGB, Hawke, Inquisitor, and HoF :P

What about a short DLC where you have to find Hawke/Alistair/who evers remains in the Fade. Or you learn if they are really dead at all.

After all the game said "_____ will likely die" Not that they would. And as a person who reads and writes quite a bit this seems very intentional, and maybe a hint that whoever is still alive.

No. Short DLCs suck. I'd rather pay more to get more. And it seems like DA:I might actually get something resembling an expansion so let's keep pushing that idea. As far as saving Hawke/Loghain/Alistair/Stroud from the Fade, sure why not? Don't get your hopes up though.

I don't want to Taint cured, I want to survive it without getting the Calling, like Avernus did, but for longer, indefinitely longer

This is the boat I'm in as well.  At least in terms of wanting my Warden to end up immortal.  Not too keen on him going all Avernus-level blood mage, personally.  :P   Doubt we'll have the option, but I might just do a happy dance if my Warden becomes some sort of ageless nomad wandering the edges of Thedas for all time.

Spoiler

But yeah, an expansion involving the HoF coming back, and teaming up with the Inquisitor on a quest for immortality/godhood?  That is something I would throw money at the screen for.  Again, just as long as we could establish a couple basic personality traits for the Warden.  I sort of agree with the idea that 10 years have passed, and they have likely changed somewhat...  I definitely think that the years spent with Leliana would have tempered my Warden's views on the Chantry; I just don't know if I'd like it if he considered himself an Andrastian.  Same way I'd feel weird if my Dalish Inquisitor showed up in a later game and no longer believed in the Elven gods.  Or Hawke had been converted to the Qun.

But yeah, it's kind of a moot point because there's no guarantee they're even going to do a DLC with the HoF in it.  :\

The plot is okay I suppose, just don't like the idea of the Inquisition investigating Kal-Sharok, when the headquarter of the Grey Warden Order is right there, close to Kal-Sharok. Also, don't like it when the taint/darkspawns is getting treat more and more like...well, not dangerous that normal people can fight without getting injured/tainted. I also don't want to go to the Anderfels/Weisshaupt/Kal-Sharok in a DLC.  The Anderfels is too much of a clean slate that I feel that it will work better as DA 4, or DA 5, not a DLC.

If we are getting a Warden DLC, I rather play as the Warden, similar to Leliana's Song where we play as Leliana. The main reason would be the personality of the Warden, it's easier give a sense of personality to our Warden if we play as him/her, rather than as an NPC or companion.  Hawke has a set personaility and people still complain about it in DAI, I can't imagine the backlash from the Warden.

I saw a post recently saying that Leliana's agents tracked Solas and found that he was last seen heading West. The Warden is in a place far West looking for the cure to the Calling.  I would love it if we play as the Warden and meet Solas, not knowing that he's the Dread Wolf.  Maybe Solas has something in mind though or he shouldn't be there in the first place...

Except that Avernus hears the Calling everyday...he slowed down the taint in his body by blood magic, but 200 years is a long time, so he started hearing it after awhile. Here where it said that.

If you hear a voice calling you to go die in the Deep Road everyday, you should get yourself cured, just saying.

Then there is Leliana. This one's tough, but I doubt we'll see her majorly involved as a companion again and I really doubt they'll just kill her off in the future since it will ****** off a lot of fans. Thank God DG is not GRRM. Anyway, again some kind of happy ending can be made for Lel and HoF, I'm sure.

If romanced, Leliana was actually saying she planned on joining the Warden for good when all was said and done, and they've actually said that in the Divine ending she stays with them anyway. In the non-Divine ending...well, one would assume she just went with her first plan. The future of the whole Leliana/Warden thing actually doesn't seem too bad.

I kind of know what you mean. Talking to grand Enchanter Fiona (whose example the HoF seems to be following) it is clearly mentioned that she became a pariah among the other Grey Wardens since her taint was removed. so if the HoF does manage to remove the taint it will have a big impact on lore with potential to fracture the Grey Wardens for ever into the ones who feel it is OK to remove the taint once you begin to hear the Calling and those who feel that removing the taint is going against the values of being a GW.

However IMO given the current lore, a happy ending for the HoF can only come after removing the taint. Unless that is done they will either need to go to their Calling or rely on Blood Magic to indefinitely extend their life, neither of which sound very appealing.

Edit: Also anyone would like to venture a guess where exactly is the 'West' where the HoF has gone to? The War Table mission shows the place somewhere in the Frostbacks but I thought that dialogue with Morrigan implied it was West of Skyhold...probably somewhere around the desert and wastelands we visit in Inquisition.

Not West, Far West, a land not touched by the Blight or something, which is strange considering the Warden is trying to find a cure for the Calling. I don't think that war table mission is accurate since the Warden is most likely somewhere West beyond Orlais, and they just need to put the mission somewhere.

I am not certain about the 'not touched by blight' part. Morrigan mentions it is somewhere Kieran could not go. I had assumed the reason he 'could not go' would be because it must some place where there will be a huge risk of catching the taint, which would kind of be a problem for Kieran him having the soul of an old god and all....

Also where are the BW people. Granted the devs must be busy with the bug fixes and the bad PC controls fallout but what about the writers, come on Mr Gaider throw us a bone here....

After reading through this thread, it's strange BioWare haven't released a video game solely focusing on LI's and all the cheesy garbage that goes along with it.  It would then give the rest of us a chance to play an RPG game heavily focused on adventuring and all the things RPG's used to be about.

I know I'm in the minority when I say this, but I'm hoping BioWare never release a Citadel mk2 dlc as it was truly awful.  Fan service at its worse.  Had i not gotten a code for free, I'd have been annoyed had I paid £1 for it never mind £20.

I threw in my own bid for a DLC centered on Hawke and Weisshaupt... throw both the Warden and Hawke with their LIs together in an adventure surrounding Weisshaupt and Bioware could have ALL my money.

It is in fact stated as lands 'which have never known the blight' - I believe Leliana told my Inquisitor this, so I would imagine you find this out from whoever the HoF romanced.
