How can I trigger this event? I've done the very first Lyrium related quest and I've spoken with Cullen a few times, but so far I haven't triggered that moment yet.
About the main quest I've just reached Skyhold and started to complete maps and side quests around, I've spoken with Varric's old friend but I have still to go on with that mission.
If you just got to skyhold, then the chess playing cutout scene with Cullen doesn't happen right away. For me it was a lot further along the game.
Also, it is archon, not chess. I think.
