I am sick to death of putting a character into a hold position and seconds later I see them run into the middle of the action. Also when the dragon uses its wings to pull the gang (someone has no idea of wind flow dynamics lol) the person on hold position should run back to their hold position point.

Come on Bioware... Your tactics system really sucks if the chars don't do what you tell them. Buggy, buggy buggy and annoying.

But it's not just hold position (but that is the worst). I told Iron Bull to attack the dragon's back leg. What did he do? STAND RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DRAGON TO GET FRIED.

Seriously, on the higher level dragons it's give orders, move ahead a few seconds, check if orders are being done, swear blue murder because they are going the wrong way, give same order again, repeat.... then hope they finally get the bloody order right!

If the followed orders it would be awesome. As it is the tactics system is a right dogs breakfast and has to be micromanaged every few seconds.

The only way hold position "work" for me is issuing it by using the tact cam, and getting back to the same character I was controlling when I triggered the tact cam. otherwise, hold tends to **** up even more...

Plus, on a dragon fight, I would not advise you to ask a range dps to hold a position. Ask him to attack a part of the dragon, then move him to the location you want him to stay. The AI is at least smart enough to stay in that vicinity and attack what you requested.

Mele is another story, especially vs those electric drake :/.

There's a difference between an action and an instruction, apparently.  Browse this and see if it helps.

Jumping in and out of tactical cam seems to either completely cancel orders, or muttle them up significantly.  I've found that the party follows orders A LOT better if you just stay in tactical camera mode the whole time and use the button that moves time forward.

Lmao!!!!

OP *perfect* breakdown of the issues and immensely funny!! Lol. Made juice I was sipping on fly out my mouth when I read the first few paragraphs.

I love the fact that you're letting Bioware know what's going with the poor mechanic issues, still, I respect you more for not getting on here and whining like Jamaican as$ like most of these scumbags do.

You took your frustration, made it humorous, but still, pointed out the seriousness of the matter by breaking it down eloquently. Nice post OP!

By the way...

Jumping in and out of tactical cam seems to either completely cancel orders, or muttle them up significantly.

Speaks truth ^

I hope that gets a fix. Extremely annoying.

I always play my own Inquisitor so I issue hold ground in bigger fights only with tac cam and it has never failed me much.  Sometimes Solas will move from his safe ranged position but only if Blackwall (who he defends) moves quite a distance away.
