I like Jon Curry (Male American voice) on all my male playthroughs..

He's got a Batman (kevin conroy) feel to his dialogues

I went with Alix as she works really well with a Trevelyan Mage. Did get a bit weird when she meets fem!Hawke as both she and Jo Wyatt are doing 'Generic TV British' accents and they sound incredibly alike.

Is there a play through with Sumalee's voice? I want to use her voice for a female warrior but the thought of going through the CC again if the voice doesn't fit...ugh.

Male british >>>>>everything else for me , the voice fits my inquisitor so much that it feels as if it was made for him specifically.

I've only played one character so far but Alix does a tremendous job. Watched that interview with her and she has alot of passion for the role and it really shows.

My next character is going to be a pragmatic hardass Elf and not really sure which voice to choose for her, i ussually pick the sassy and compassionate options with my current character and not sure if she's as good at the colder, "renegade" type options.

Anyone that played with both got any input? Who's the best "renegade" type voice; female amrican or brittish?

Well, now that I've heard them both enough (the menfolk anyhow), I'm going with the British accent. Frankly, it's hard to make a face fit the voice for the American version (doable, just takes a bit of doing).

All the voices are fantastic - I'm biased to Alix but I'm glad Bioware did 2 voice sets. As much as I adore Alix it's just TOO jarring with a Qunari and Sumalee, while intially awkward, really got her chops as the game started moving. I love her work on my Qunari, even if the romance part with Sera had a few "LOL" moments with her emotional level hehe.

While I think all voices are great, I just cannot use American voices in this game. It just doesn't feel like a good fit to me.

I've only used Alix's voice so far, on a female elf. I don't really like it. It just sounds so bland to me. Even Jo Wyatt's voice from DA2 is better, and she also sounded very bland to me. I'm hoping I'll enjoy Sumalee's voice on a Qunari or dwarven lady much better.

The British voice actor for male is better than the American. Just seems like there's a lot more emotion in the lines. Both of them however are blown out of the water by Hawke's voice actor.

I prefer the British voice actors in this game. They both did a good job.  But the Hawke voice actors ( especially male Hawke for me) are far superior.

Jo Wyatt and her male counterpart are particularly amazing when using the snarky responses in DA2 xD

Both Brits are great. I'd have to say Traynor carries the day for me. I could spread that voice over pancakes.

The samples in character creation don't do Sumalee justice. There's a wry cynicism in her lines I really enjoy.

I'll have to give her a try when I make a female Qunari to 'ride the bull'.

The male British voice lacks emotion. It sounds like he's going through the paces. "Oh, I think this is how this emotion sounds," as opposed to "I feel this emotion, let it reflect in my voice." At first, I thought the American voice was awful because it's hilariously deep, but actually playing with the American voice will change that opinion. It's a deep voice, but it's filled with emotion. Much better than the shallow acting of the British voice imo

I like the male British voice the best.  The female British one is fine a lot of the time, but she has too many pauses in her delivery and it really gets on my nerves after a while.
