I prefer Alix, though admittedly I haven't played a full game through with the others.

I used the American female voice for my dwarf and was uncertain at the start.  She seemed a bit wooden, but then as the game went on she was really really good.  I used the sarcastic options most of the time and she had great delivery, she captured a 'damned if I know' spirit that I wanted my dwarf to have.

I admit there were a few moments where she seemed a bit flat, but many more where she aced it.  Especially with Bull, she had a lot of warmth in her voice when talking to him (he was her LI ).

I think it takes time.  I love Alix Wilton-Regan in ME3 but hearing just a little of her IQ voice so far, it doesn't grab me yet.  I think I need some time with every voice to see if I really like them or not...I just plain can't tell until I'm really immersed I guess.  Looking forward to playing a character with her as the VA tho.

I'm not a fan of the British male voice,  I played an IQ with his VA for 35 hours and I still wasn't won over.  Bit too Downton Abbey for me.  So I think I'll make my next male a Qunari and go for the American voice instead, have myself a little bit of Zevran again.

Speaking of Downton Abbey, I'm getting quite a Lady Mary vibe from my Trevelyan when she hits the sarcastic lines. Though my Inquisitor isn't as terrible a person as Mary is.

And I blame Downton Abbey for me now having any concern in DAI as to the proper casual apparel. I use to be uncaring about fashion, color, matching articles, etc; now I find myself tweaking outfits for Shepard, the Inquisitor, etc.

Yeah Iwas planning on doing a Qunari playthrough and a dwarven one with both the American voices. I've used both the British ones but I've only used the male one once. All my other quizzy's including both the 2 (Topal and Louisa) I've got on the go atm are voiced by Alix.

I like both male VAs equally. For female inquisitors, I strongly prefer Sumalee.

With both male and female protagonists, I play them close to the gender border. Call me uncreative, but my friend/work circles are (apparently?) full of extremely gender neutral people. I'm the kind of person that gets very confused when people accuse Cassandra of being "too masculine", or Dorian of being "too flamboyant", because they seem like some of the most normal characters in the cast. None of the men in my circle are even close to the screaming masculinity of supposedly "sensitive" male characters like Alistair and Cullen, never mind characters like Blackwall and Iron Bull. Likewise, none of the women in my circle resemble the femininity of Bethany or Alix!quisitor.

That said, Alix is great. Along with everyone, I loved that line in the Trespasser trailer. And there's nothing wrong with being hyper-masculine or hyper-feminine, whatever makes people happy! However, for me, personally, I struggle to connect with characters that far from neutral. I have no real-life reference to draw on.

I'm playing as a female for the first time and just like with my main Inquisitor i'm using the American voice. I'm American, so i like my characters to be American plus i know her from being one of the female voices for the main character in Saints Row 4.

I really grew to love the male British voice.  I find it has this ineffable quality, and it became intertwined with my male, "head canon" Inquisitor.  I loved Wilton's work in ME, and I was enjoying listening to my InquisiElf until my computer ate my save games.

I'm so glad BioWare is so devoted to quality voice acting as a priority.  A lot of people have a lot of things that break immersion for them, but for me bad voice acting brings everything to a screeching halt.  Skyrim was a great game, but some of those voices made me want to hit the mute button, especially when you'd hear the same bad voice on multiple characters.

I don't really like the American male (it's not particularly bad, but I just don't really like having my male characters sound American if at all avoidable), but I'd put the other three pretty close. Alix Wilton Regan probably just scrapes it.

Difficult one but I think Sumalee Montano more or less nailed my badass carta enforcer.

I don't really care for Alix, it's just too much ME, all I hear is Traynor, (although I do exclusively use her voice for female elves), or there's too much opposite emotion in  delivered line from what I was expecting.

Sumalee starts off flat, but really picks up, I think she's my fav for a female non-elf character, like others have said, especially if you play sarcastic.

Curry is a little flat, but *swoon* he's my favorite, and fit my male Qunari so well, I just can't use his voice again (husband is playing a dwarf with the voice and when I hear it I reminisce and get a little confused....man I LOVED that Quizzy play through, can I have a crush on my pixel-alter ego (weird right?)?)

Have a hard time getting into Hadden-Patton's voice. Haven't gotten very far with the two characters I created with that voice.

Yepper, totally agree.

I find that HHP has a great range. Perhaps one of my favorite moments is a single line when you stop Solas from killing the mages during his personal quest. The simple, "Solas," said in that way is just magical.

His voice is just perfect for how I think about my Inquisitor.

I always headcanon that the Lavellan clan traded with dwarves, because I can't give up that Sumalee voice, haha.

It puts a different spin on... certain scenes. When I've spent so much time with an inquisitor who's 100% reserved and calm, that subtle shift of emotion really gets to me. Her "tough guy" exterior cracks, just a little, before she snaps it shut again. She isn't thrown by enemies, by death, by political scheming, but this is the thing that breaks her.

Alix. She'll always be the Inquisitor to me. I just watched the old Trespasser trailer yesterday and heard some of the dialogue options I've never chosen for the first time aaand... yeah. Super talented voice actor, that's all.

Harry Hadden-Paton is my favourite. That voice has such depth, makes my spine shiver every. damn. time. And I don't get the aloof sense, I actually thought he was warm as warm honey, but we hear what we hear.  :D In fact, I love him so much, he's one of my favourite things about this game. He completely smashed the trailers, they're fantastic. I don't think I've heard the line "All of this started because of fanatics, and arguments about the next world. It's time we started caring about this one." in the actual game but it's exquisite.

It's the little touches, like how he says "Thanks, Varric." through a grin, like he's talking to his idol. Perfect for my Qunari Gentleman  B) And god help me, I'm from the Westmidlands but there's something about that incredibly southern accent that does me right in the nut

Either way, love what you love, and let everyone else love what they love
