Favorite Romance in Inquisition? Requests for future romances?

Well what about Cullen being the stereotypical hunkster "perfect" guy type that I bet most women playing DA:I romanced? See, I actually liked Cullen because he filled that role. Didn't bother me a bit.
The lyrium addiction plot was put in to kick him down a notch from being so perfect but even then it was portrayed as not being his fault. If we can have the Cullens then we can have some buxom babes for the young guys out there. I dont see the problem.
Typical, I don't want to start an argument with you as you are clearly in the wrong and it is not worth debating you but it is this sort of backwards attitude towards women that keeps our society and art in the stone age. Women deserve better representation in video games than just "buxomy eye candy" that exist for the sole purpose of male pleasure, women are people too, people who enjoy playing video games just as much as you and we demand equality.
Seriously, check your privilege.

Anywho, I've only romanced Dorian so far and he was pretty fab. Probably gonna be my canon LI once I'm done with my Iron Bull and Sera playthroughs. Also for the first time considering playing straight lady Quizzes for Blackwall and Solas (former is a sexy beast, latter sounds interesting for plot reasons). Whether it happens or not remains to be seen.

I've only romanced Cassandra so far, so I can't give an honest opinion ... but as for future romances, the only one I really crave is Harding, because she is adorable, deadly, and has never been a dwarf romance.
I do wish there was more flirt choices though, no need for full romances with them, but just more casual flirting, maybe with the option to have a casual fling too, no romance, just hit it and quit it.

lol people think Cullen is perfect? He's basically going through withdrawals from what is essentially a drug addiction and has severe PTSD. Dude is messed up.
Vote is for Josephine. I thought that one was really nice.

Kiiiinda questioning the intentions behind the thread but whatever....
Anyway, out of all the LIs in DA:I (none were my cup of tea to be honest) I'd say Cullen is my favorite, with Bull a close second.
As for what I'd like in the next game? An ACTUAL BUTCH lesbian (plsplsplsplsplspls) and a guy that is available to women and isn't 'conventionally attractive', masculine, bearded, muscular, any of that. Just no. I'm tired of guys like that. Not all women find guys like that attractive, gaming companies. Muscles and beards are bleh. Bonus points if this guy isn't angsty! although I wouldn't say no to a guy with issues because that can be kind of sexy in games
I want a butch lesbian LI the most, though. Stereotypes aren't bad - if they're done right. Make her a dwarf or qunari warrior and then she's basically perfect. Although I would prefer the first dwarf LI to be bisexual so almost everyone can get some dwarf lovin', but I obviously wouldn't complain.
I realize this probably sounds like I want these characters to exist simply to fill a certain type of romance need, but I haven't gotten what I want in a romance since... ever so I want to be catered to for once ![]()

Dorian! Though the only one I did, I don't see my opinion changing.
I am really thinking about romancing him again (2nd playthrough now), but might go for Cassandra or IB, Josie seems a bit boring to me personally, is it?
Would romance Cullen but playing as a guy, so maybe for a 3rd playthrough if I do that at all!

Dude, he's lifted from the pages of twilight; even shares the same last name.
He seems (to me) better written than Edward, but it's the same 'trubbled hawt guy u can hjeal wiff ur lurve' cliche.
At least he doesn't sparkle. ![]()

I've never cared so much for romance but then Solas happened. Congrats, PW.
I think I botched it on this (my first) playthrough. I keep hoping but ... *sadquizzy* ![]()

...I... I think you might have maybe just describe Solas? Maybe? He's a scrawny little dude, not a facial (or cranial, for that matter) hair to be seen... and he only bones ladies. Well. Theoretically. As I understand it no boning actually happens. BUT STILL.

Not sure why you would, the intentions behind this thread is pretty obvious, to allow people to share their opinions on the romances and pool ideas together to help Bioware improve the romances in future games, not sure why you think this is such a mystery?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no? For me personally, both Blackwall and IB are not conventionally attractive. IB looks like a giant ball of 'roids, and Blackwall looks like a younger version of Santa Claus. I do, however, find Cullen and Solas attractive.

Yeah, I think someone forgot he existed.
Cullen's not really perfect, either. When I think of that stereotype I think of Captain America. He clearly has more character progression than most characters within the game, though he's also had three games to touch on it. Still, "perfect" people don't have much room to evolve due to supposedly having no weaknesses.
His lyrium addiction wasn't tacked on just to make it seem he was imperfect, either, since we knew about that since DAO. It would be a mystery if we DIDN'T see that.

I only ran through the game once, so I've only romanced one character. I don't know if it is just the one romance that is drab but I felt the romance with Josephine was to pg and not deep enough. I wasn't moved by it in any sense. I feel they made strides with the game itself but the romance department felt to me as a regression.

Agreed? I'm not saying Solas is unattractive - I find all the companions and advisors attractive in their ways (I struggle with Bull a little, but I think that's more to do with his terrifying nipples than anything else). But Solas is definitely not 'convential'.

I can support both of these ideas. I also want to see a butch lady for f/f romance.
And, if you are tired with the 'traditionally handsome, masculine' guys for straight romances, kick them over to the gay guys. A bunch of us will gladly take them! Then you can have the sassy, skinny, brooding, and/or promiscous rogues and mages that we keep getting stuck with.

Appearance-wise Solas was close to what I'd like. But he's not exactly the scrawniest guy ever, if you look at his model next to the male elf Inquisitor. Not to mention Solas wasn't supposed to be a romance at first, iirc.
Actually the m!elf Inquisitor (minus the freaky weird kicked-in arms and baby shoulders) is about right. An LI like that will probably never happen though.
I also listed other things besides conventionally attractive - clearly all of the male LIs aren't conventional (Bull, anyone?) But then they're either muscular, bearded, or just manly.
Got an archetype or two from fiction in mind?
A lesbian who is more masculine is basically it, I guess. I'm not too good with archetypes or what's offensive and what isn't, being bi and not lesbian. Ashley Williams, Cassandra, and Aveline. While not butch, they're closer to what I'm asking for than any bi/lesbian woman we've had before.

As for future romances? I can't really say. If I like a character, I'll try to romance them. If not, eh. I don't really have a preference.

Agreed. Really, I don't think any of the LIs are conventionally attractive in the way that people expect video game love interests to be attractive (except perhaps Cullen and Josie). But I'm really pleased with them, not because Bioware intentionally went for not conventionally attractive (they didn't), but because their looks fit their personalities. Cass is hard and unyielding and bears the scars from her life as a warrior, but she has a softness to her eyes that only comes out at certain times. Blackwall is big, burly, and rough around the edges, both in looks and personality. Solas's whole "hairless apostate hobo" look makes people underestimate him, but he has kind eyes and one of the most mobile faces in the game, which clues you in to the fact that there's something under the surface. I thought they did a really great job with the character design for this game.

A lot of people seem to be missing romance scenes, especially those who upload the "full romance" on youtube. Hers was far more deeper than Cassandras, I've done them both. There's far more romance content after the sex scene with Cass and the bedroom fireside scene with Josie. For some strange reason people are under the impression that those scenes are the end.

Not done with the game yet (nowhere near done), but I've watched pretty much all of the romances on youtube to see how they played out. At the moment, despite intending to ride the Bull, my character is leaning more toward Cullen. He's adorably sweet and I love the kiss scene where he basically shuts her up by kissing her. Full of awesome. Of course, the Iron Bull romance looks hilarious and awesome, too. And he clearly cares for the Inquisitor. Solas is extremely intriguing, but I don't like bittersweet romances. Give me happy or give me death. Well, not death...pisses me off when characters I like die or my stupid character dies, but I digress...
Personally, I'd love to see an option for a female PC where the guy makes the move, for a change. It actually worked that way with Alistair in DA:O if you didn't make a move and it was awesome. But giving the male a bit more confidence wouldn't hurt. Like Zevran, only taller.
Call me crazy, but the whole feminist thing is lost on me, and I'm a woman. I'm as comfortable carrying a weapon as I am cooking dinner and I don't get my panties in a wad if a guy holds the door open for me or acts like he has a spine and big set of balls. Hardened Alistair all the way, baby...and Cullen, pushing the Inquisitor on the desk after she asks he if really needs to ask...
My point is that I'd love to have a romance option where the male (and sorry, but he'd have to be straight), will call my character out for her BS instead of whining about it, or try to stop her from running head first into situations that she's ill prepared for (like if they programmed the AI so that, before I ran into that area of Hinterlands where the dragon is, Iron Bull grabs your arm, pulls you back and tells you, yeah you're a badass, but you aren't ready for a dragon yet...would've saved me getting my ass handed to me and could've pushed the romance a bit further too, or turned it off for women who aren't strong enough to deal with a strong man).
Other than that, the only other thing I'd ask for is to have a way where all of the romances can get happy endings. None of this leaving you or dying BS. Real life is depressing enough at times, I don't want it in my game.
