Jo Wyatt, voice of female Hawke in DA2 did a terrific job and had a good script to use.  it was BY FAR the best part of DA2 and helped stick through the worst parts of that game

In DAI, I've finished my first play through as a male and now I'll be starting a female using Alix Wilton Reagan's voice.  The bits that I've heard already is good but not nearly as good as Wyatt's job from DA2.  I do enjoy Hawke returning to DAI for a bit so I can hear that voice and attitude again. Honestly, hearing Hawke in DAI almost makes me want to play DA2 again ... almost.

Well personally I never played a female Hawke, but I've heard people say Wyatt's voice was superior to that of Boulton's and I really liked how my male Hawke sounded. That being said, I also enjoyed the voice that I had for my Inquisitior. It was the British one, I don't know who the voice belonged to, but I think he did a terrific job.

Both voices in DA II seem a bit more emotional than the voices in DA:I, but this is most likely because in DA II you had less options to customize your character and personality, resulting in a better flow in conversations and making Hawke sound more ''natural''.

Jo Wyatt's amazing.  I love her as Hawke and as the Agent in SW:TOR.  It was wonderful to hear her talent in Dragon Age again.

Not really. I like Traynor's voice for my femquisitor more then I ever liked the voice for femhawke. Now all I need to do is find a way to recreate Traynor in the cc and I'm set.

I loved Jo Wyatt's voice. I actually didn't like Alix Wilton Regan's at first but it definitely grew on me. Now I am rather happy with it, she does a pretty good job. Though, still not as good as FemHawke. I'm still on my first playthough though so I haven't heard Sumalee yet.

Not really -- I'm liking Alix a lot and when she's phrasing the 'clever' lines then she really shines I'll say. Both her and Jo Wyattare good. I imagine it's not easy to get used to a new voice at the beginning, for some people, but who knows... you might change your mind. I do miss being incredibly smarmy sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't seem that appropriate anyway.

I guess I'm one of those who really dislikes Femhawkes voice, I also disliked femsheps voice. But I love female brit inq and male brit inq.

God yes.  Beautiful voice on that woman.  Sarcastic FemHawke was as sexy as she was hilarious.

Oddly enough, I didn't particularly care for other characters she's voiced.  Like Dr. Cole in ME3.

Yes, really beautiful voice.  Its rare I’ll actually look up the real life actress to see who she is but in this case I did.   As OP said, one of the best things in DA2.

I was hoping to see her again in DAI but didn’t realize I needed to update the keep BEFORE starting a new game,  I guess its too late now?    (I’ve just arrived at Skyhold).

Honestly, they sounded so similar to eachother, I didn't feel any particular loss either way.

If I had closed my eyes during their scenes together, I would probably have a hard time picking one out from the other. :P

Why does Jo Wyatt sound like a joke name? Like Mike Hawke or Jo Moma

Opinions over who performed their character voicework better than someone else, is entirely subjective. We all have our favorites!

I did feel like Jennifer Hale's work as Commander Shepard outshined Mark Meer; not that his efforts were poor or anything. That's just my stated preference for the Mass Effect series. I still liked both.

As for DA 2, I agree that Jo Wyatt's vocal performance was far more nuanced and preferable to me than Nicholas Boulton. But again, that's just my stated preference. I still liked both as Hawke.

I will say that thus far the Inquisition voice actors seem fine, but my first two characters were a female elf & a female human and I went traditional franchise and used the British accent option each time. My intention is to use the American accent for all dwarves & Qunari.

That being said, just from the snippets that I've actually heard, the American male voice sounds fine, but the American female voice seems consistently monotone and off-putting. I really hope that proves not to be the case!

Jo Wyatt's voice is just...easier on the ears by default. It's very pleasant to hear, but only Reagan's voice acting was able to deliver the raw authority needed for the Herald of Andraste. She made it easy to see why the Inquisition would choose her as Inquisitor - 'here's a woman who just exudes power and authority despite still being a prisoner'.

I played Mass Effect 3 before I played Dragon Age II.

Thus, the first time I heard Hawke, my immediate reaction was, "That's Dr. Brynn Cole!"

After playing Dragon Age II and loving it, my reaction has completely flipflopped.

Now, whenever I'm playing Mass Effect 3, it's "That's...my Hawke...and she has such a small role..."

I think she sounds way better in DA2, wasn't completely convinced with DAI's recording.

She's also really good as Ciri in TW3.

Sarcastic FemHawke's voice is one of my favorite things out of DA2 by far, and while the game was riddled with flaws, still had quite a lot that I enjoyed.

God yes.  Beautiful voice on that woman.  Sarcastic FemHawke was as sexy as she was hilarious.

Oddly enough, I didn't particularly care for other characters she's voiced.  Like Dr. Cole in ME3.

Well, Dr. Cole was a pretty dry character, which I guess made her a suitable partner for Jacob. It wouldn't really make a difference who voiced her at that point.

I must be the only person who absolutely despises Jo Wyatt's voice in every way possible.

Her voice is so bad it made me play a male protagonist for the first time ever. I much prefer Alix's voice acting, so much better.

Yiiissss.

I really hate to say this because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I did not much care for the voice acting in DAI. I'm sorry! They all seem like lovely people! But...I did not like it.

Maybe it was the direction? The American female was too monotone, though she had her moments. The Brit female had her moments, too, but the more emotional moments got all...warbly in a way I find hard to tolerate. I found the male to be very similar overall to the female. Well, the Brit male at least. Have not tried American male voice.

She was definitely missed in DA:I, but playing Witcher 3 more than made up for it. *points at own avatar*

I didn't like her work in Legacy (she sounded overly dramatic), but in original DA2 her voice was far more nuanced than Boulton's. Brit femQuiz is good too, but the rest are meh, in my opinion. Brit male Quiz half the time sounds like he has food in his mouth, and both Americans are way too monotonous.

Meh, I prefer Alix Wilton Regan. Her angry voice is way better.
