idea: we can buy and train mabari pets that will break jars and fetch loot (nugs too!)

I'll take that a step forward. Create a class with a familiar with that ability. Me thinks, Druids. Set it to Acquisition/Pioneer (homage to DD). :P

You guys are going to be so sad when my fix gets in for pots : ) I'm looking forward to posts reminiscing about the good old days when a man was a man, a woman was a woman, and a loot pot made up its own mind about whether or not it was broken. Pepperidge farms remembers.

Wait. So the vase thing IS actually a bug? I thought it was a developer's troll. I was expecting Boxxy to jump out of the side of the screen someday.

How oppressive and narrow minded to think that pots can be "fixed" like that.  It's none of your business whether a pot decides to break or not, leave them alone.  Personally, I support the pots' LGBT community in this matter (limestone, glass, gold and titanium) and only wish for them to be free from oppression and being FORCED to identify as one or the other.  A pots physical state is a spectrum and it can range anywhere from completely solid to completely shattered and EVERYWHERE in between. I would expect Bioware of all developers to be more progressive in this area but I guess not even this company is as supportive as they claim to be.

Shame.

Why doesn't the gold get collected when we walk over it like it does in action games?

There is a simple solution posited by quantum mechanics, Schrodinger's Vase. Until the gold is looted, the vase is both intact and shattered.

Seriously, I am fine with the TCs idea or whatever the fix from BioWare, as long as we bring an end to this destructive conflict... ;)

I've stopped even bothering with them off host. It's so annoying breaking one only to have it respawn. FU pot!

respawning pots isnt really an issue with melee classes, and archers do ok too, if not it takes a bit longer to dial in the distance, elementalist can just immolate the pot and arcane warrior can spirit blade. honestly the only huge problem comes with keepers and necros

Breaking a pot with immolate doesn't start a cooldown, thankfully.

My necromancer uses blizzard to crush and kill the evil pots.

My Templar taunts them to break, but If they are not fooled by the scream, she piereces their ceramic skin with her sword.

My assassin sits and screams (F4) for others to help, that's how useless she is.

I think about 1% of all pots should actually be mimics (like the D&D monster).

You try to open the pot and it punches you in the face instead.

As a frustrated double dagger wielder I often look longingly at those things and say to myself.  'I'd really like to smoke that pot!'

Would be cool If you could brake the jar, someone else take the gold and than brake it again (after it's resurrection) for more gold  :P Someone tried that?

...and you should be able to trap them in your empty bottles à la Ocarina of Time.

Pots are great when you're playing with a party that can't break through all the treasure doors. They help make up the difference, as well as give you an extra sum of gold even when you can loot the chests. I just wish I could play with more people who take the time to smash them. I seem to always be made the unofficial pot smasher in every match. What's sad is many times pots get smashed during the heat of battle, and my teammates just run over the exposed gold without taking the split second to collect. Talk about trampling over easy money...

Through many, many games, that maybe happened to me 2 or 3 times (when I was chasing a pot and someone stormed the next level doors).

Quite often enough, I managed to pull people from up front, to trace back to me and kill the pot I tried to brake with my eyes alone xD

But I do have a microphone I guess?

I'd be offended but you admitting you're playing on the PS3 just makes me feel bad for you. No worries, you won't see me on there.

No, there's not. I can't speak to Perilous, I don't play on that, but I can finish 2 games of routine/threatening to one of a pug that stops for every pot, and get more gold/exp for the effort. Loot the gold that drops from AoEs and general combat, but don't drag the team behind for that one pot in the distance cuz you just GOT TO HAVE that 10-20 gold. It's not that important, and you're boring me.

Balls so you are on the PC ? Goddamn it.

And its kinda funny how you sorta go for the elitis part yet you dont go for the highest difficulty - just lol.

See when me and my friends decide to go for gold on threathening we split the team on two - two go forward clearing mobs - two go for the gold and items. And i bet we are still faster then your rushed up atempt for quick finish.

So no you are not elitist - your are a pesant. Hope your nick in origin is the same as here so i can instant kick your ass from any game i host.

if you are only on threatening and have good enough weapons where you dont care about the gold you should be able to dispatch the next pack of mobs, and leave your teammates to their precious pots

Let's be honest, the pots are there to give us something else to do to make it feel like there is more content in DAMP.  If the pots were removed then the runs would be a few minutes faster and the content would seem even more lacking.  As noted, some of the pots require teams to backtrack once it becomes immune thus wasting even more time.  The pots are a fun idea to reward exploration but with so many empty sections of the map, I think having something more exciting would be a nice change.  Perhaps adding secondary objectives with an experience (not gold) reward.

More variation to maps, like Warframe would do the trick. I thought they are like that at first, but than it seemed I memorized the layouts quickly enough.

But in general, more maps, more enemy types, more classes and weapon types (last one very, very unlikely).

I would also like a survival arena mode with infinite waves and progressive difficulty/reward system.
