So I've recovered the manuscript and now I want to return it to the Dalish. The thing is that when I got the mission to contact them, I sent Cullen as he was the only one available, but they didn't take it well. Now I just finished this mission and I'd feel really dirty if I were to sell it to the Chantry, so is there anything I could do to return it to the rightful owners?

What mission to contact them? The Dalish clan that you're supposed to return it to is located in the Exalted Plains. Go there and talk to the keeper.

Yes thank you, I eventually ended up running into them. There was a quest on the war table that let me contact my clan, as I'm playing with a Dalish Inquisitor.
