To be fair, I think the rumors could be sexual in nature because it's probably not common knowledge that Dorian is gay, unless he just goes around wearing a sign or something.
However, it is true that it has nothing to do *specifically* with being gay as it happens to Femquisitor as well, so nobody is being forced into a gay relationship with Dorian against their will.

Even if it didn't happen with the femquisitor it wouldn't be forcing people into a gay relationship.

I'm not defending the OP's opinion. I'm merely stating that the rumors could be sexual in nature without them having anything specifically to do with being gay.
Actually, its got nothing to do with homosexuality, my female Inquisitor had the same issue, Mother Giselle talking about insinuations about my relationship with Dorian, if you follow whats being said then its clearly about the fact that Dorian is a Tevinter and as such is considered by many to be guilty of the issues plageuing Thedas because of that sole fact.

It's obviously about being gay - because everyone forces gayness on everyone all the time... forget that Ghisselle hates Dorian because he practices an entirely different religion that doesn't even recognize Justine as a Divine. It's obviously gay - because of gay.

Mother Giselle = secret voice of Bioware mocking glitched characters whose in-game gender flags got swapped around. I'm now sold on this theory.
Speaking of boy loving, i hope rumors don't float around thedas that I might be a pedophile since I'm being kind to Cole.
I'm pretty sure any kind of romance between you and a murderous semi-invisible spirit trained as an assassin wouldn't focus on any such angle... people would probably be more scared of saying anything wrong about you, because Cole might be watching.

Yeah, it's pretty clear what she's talking about, and it's Tevinter. If you're worried that someone thinks you're gay because you're a dude and you hang out with another dude, then the someone that you're worried about...is you.

She is uncomfortable because she knew you both to be good men, but public pressure is gonna pressure, so she will have to wrong you both. A lot of the Inquisition's overall drive and unity does hinge on religious fervour and appearances and such, so even if you know it is bullshit, you still have to pretend to be this holy man for PR. And helping a Vint with his problems and letting him stay at your castle is bad PR.
I wish both gamers and bioware itself didn't make such a big deal out of Dorian's sexual orientation. His defining quality should be his wish to better his country despite his upbringing, and his courage in getting out of his father and family's unrealistic expectations. Instead it is all gay gay gay and the internet bs that comes with it. Ugh.

Yes, Giselle is squeamish considering she wouldn't say what the rumor is about. And I don't think she should be embarrassed to say it if the rumor was the Inqusitor having an alliance with Dorian the Tevinter Mage.

OP, most people read politics from that scene. How you read gay is beyond me.
If false perceptions of your character and habits from NPCs of a video game bother you this much, I feel bad for how you must cope in the real world, where many people assume many false things about everyone on a daily basis.

You start off asking - then when someone says it's not about being gay - you say: "Well it probably was though because..."
