How is it offensive to use your native language rather than an adopted one? The Dalish call dwarves dergenlen, and I don't see that as derogatory. Though I suppose in considering themselves superior, simply an acknowledging a difference can be seen as talking down.Context, most people who use the term "Shemlen" especially the Dalish Warden, won't live anywhere near a 1,000 years. Just like throwing extra children out into the cold was an "okay" practice 10,000 years ago, it's not okay now. Neither is calling someone a term which is obviously offensive.
People are really insecure when it comes to the elves.
