OK, I've been watching this show for a while now and here's the upside: the show has the best lead actor (Matt Ryan) compared to all the other DC shows out there, the production value is top-knotch, and the stories seem like they're becoming more suitably dark.

The downside: it's on NBC, which might not renew it for a second season or allow it to continue its first season. Really, the only hope for this show is that it'll be picked up by Netflix.

Still, I would highly recommend this show. Just don't expect to see Constantine smoke. He was lighting a cigarette in the recent episode, and that was about it.

Ah yes that thing I keep getting prodded to watch and keep putting off for some reason. I really need to get round to it.

I'll admit, this show wasn't very good in my eyes when it first came out, but has since become my second favorite show about angels and demons. The first being Supernatural of course.  :D

I hope it doesn't end up cancelled.  :(

Hellblazer was such a deviant and gross comic book, I don't understand why they keep trying to make it into a TV show or PG-13 movie. It just will not work.

[Edit]
Oh, apparently this TV series is based on the follow up Constantine comic book, which is somewhat lighter fare.

This show in general has been pretty good so far. Only problem is that it may not get the recognition that it deserves to continue on. Quite a pity. Say what you will about David S. Goyer, but the shows he produces tend to be pretty good, like Da Vinci's Demons. It's why I'm looking forward to upcoming shows like Krypton, which Goyer will also be a producer of.

I remember reading somewhere that Constantine has higher ratings than Hannibal and Hannibal was renewed so there is hope.

If anything, it will be renewed and they'll keep it to 13 episodes or so (which is what they're doing with Hannibal if I recall correctly).

If Gotham gets renewed while Constantine gets cancelled there is definitely something wrong with the way TV executives think...

I haven't watched Gotham, but judging by what I've read, it is an absolutely abysmal show with an only one episode focusing on the Penguin being its highlight.

By the way, Constantine is smokin'... No, seriously, he's smoking now.

The Penguin is currently Gotham's only redeeming feature, but even that does not make up for the rest of the show. I'm still dreading what they turn the early form of Scarecrow/Dr. Jonathan Crane into...

Constantine's been smoking for the past couple of episodes now, but he doesn't really smoke them long before throwing them away.

So, yeah, Constantine just completed it's first (and maybe it's only) season. Anyone here? Anyone?

Some news on the show's possible continuation for those that are interested:

I liked parts of it but I think it blew its potential over and over. Maybe it was the network. Maybe the creators. Maybe the actors. I dunno. But it was meh and just barely good enough to watch (but NOT bad).

It was better than Gotham, and that got renewed.

Yep, but it somehow got more episodes and renewed for a second season. Meanwhile, Constantine gets stuck with 13 episodes, and is likely getting cancelled in May.

Gotham imo had great episodes.

But too many episodes and a pathetic story arc.
