WoW is restricted by character levels and not equipment levels. That wouldn't really work in this game because people can prestige and go back down to level 1 with good equipment. I would just like perilous to be worth it to run. Thus far I have seen more items drop  but it still follows the same rng rules and generally gives scrap items.

It is both now. You cannot queue for dungeons unless you have a certain item level. I think a player should have an item level of 18-20 before being able to join Perilous mode, the only exception to this rule should be an Arcane Warrior, just because they can infinite-shield.

You just want more reasons to kick strangers. I'm on to you, mister.

^^ Got kicked for playing like a noob, so doesn't want feature in.  ^_^

Here's my two cents. I'm strong believer in "noobie zones"/level restrictions. It's not about "earning the privilege" to play at higher levels. It's to keep them from ruining higher level zones because they are ill-equipped and drag your party down. Do people want to have loadout view, so they can kick noobs? Yup. They'd be lying if they said they wouldn't. I'm both for and against it. I'm against it because people already spend too much time in lobbies slowing down the Quick Match. Here's my recommendations (that people will hate):

1. Get rid of Store and Prestige from QM lobby (lobbies are for gearing up, not window-shopping and e-peening). At minimum get rid of Store.
2. Move the Session settings (upper-right corner) to where Store and Prestige used to be. This makes it easier for players to tell if someone has changed the difficulty on them.
3. Place Item Level weapon and armor restrictions on Threaten and Perilous (T: weapon>10, armor>3. P: weapon>15, armor>4). Of course that would require fixing the current armor ranking system. This wouldn't lock players completely out of higher levels, just their under-equipped characters.

4. Add the ability to track at least 3 Challenges.
5. Provide a Quick View screen detailing the player's information if they are highlighted (e.g. Clicking down on the left analog stick shows you their gear and attk/defense rating, abilities, etc).
Bonus features:
1. Add a Speedrun option
2. Add additional "lockout" option to allow players to raise/lower the minimum item level restriction at whim.

There are enough serious issues with MP that I doubt the developers would ever get to something major like programming the ability to see others equipment.

Speaking of which, Neverwinter had a decent system that set a minimal barrier for dungeons, and that was the inclusion of a Gear Score.  The MAJOR problem to adding any sort of system like this to DA MP would be the inequity of the horrible loot system.  Person A can play for a total of 1 hour and get a lucky weapon drop, and then be WAY more productive than the person that has spent 100+ hours of playing and the best item they have is a lvl 13 purple.  9-(

Or Legionnaire. Or Ele.  Reaver could probably get away with it, not that you'd want a Perilous Reaver right now. And I've seen Hunters more than pull their weight under geared. That's the problem with exceptions for something like this--where you draw the line is really arbitrary and very debatable. It has to be everything or nothing.

I'm with Bioware on this.

I've started to see Class Elitism already try to creep in (people trying to kick my Sin out of Lobbies for Threatening mode) item inspect would just make this problem twenty times worse.

As a Personal Inspect only, absolutely, you should be able to see a full breakdown of your own stats.

For others? No way, those tools in other peoples hands are used for all the wrong reasons and would force people into one spec, specific classes and Gear Gating just for threatening mode.

I have played over 200 threatening games, and I've seen people kick others for their class/level/banners in threatening only about 1-2 times. Luckily, a good player can carry in threatening just fine, and most of the time players don't mind if there is just 1 very bad player because 3 decent/good players is enough to do well on threatening, at least up to the boss which actually makes sense to suicide on from a gold/time ratio perspective. Of course kicking does occur significantly more on perilous, but usually threatening>perilous for gold so people shouldn't feel bad about getting kicked because they are being done a favor :P.

I'd say the argument of gear viewing resulting in more kicks is true, but at the same time, it would reduce kicks by people who assume that the person they want to kick is inexperienced or poorly equipped. Anyways, I feel there are significantly more important issues that da3MP needs to deal with before even considering dealing with the lack of inspection.

The lobby leader said "Assassins are Garbage Kick them"

Of course they were a Arcane Warrior.

It doesn't happen often, yet, but it's something that may become a problem in future if folk are already under the assumption that you should only play Reavers/AWs/Eles/Keepers and are outright kicking anyone else.

Throw in gear inspection and someone that may have had bad RNG luck and have say a Fully modded and Runed Level 23 white gets kicked in favour of someone with a level 18 Purple that doesn't do as much DPS or have the right stats just because they see Purple > White without knowing the facts.

Heck my Archer has a fully modded/runed white 23 Bow with 23% APen Innate that puts out disgusting damage, but he'd get kicked because not Purple

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The game has been out for 2 weeks and people are already being kicked for playing a certain class. Adding an inspection feature would only add to the elitist ideology that exists in most MP/MMO games, I wouldn't want to play my favourite class knowing I'm going to get kicked when their build isn't deemed 'viable' for T/P modes.

At the very least this needs to be included in the HQ.  I don't mind using a tablet to scout other players before a match.

@DakotaCoty

An isolated incident reported by a single poster does not make this a rampant problem.  Also, just because you want to play your favorite class does not mean I want to play with it.

Gotta agree with this. Never seen anyone kicked because of their class. I've seen them kicked because of their level or because they majorly sucked the previous game. There I guys I kick because I've played with them a time or two and know they will wreck the game (Rambros). I've heard players say 'hey he's got a banner. he can carry us'... then I left the lobby.

There are two good reasons for seeing gear: 1) because others guys can get an idea of how to gear up 2) less assumption kicks (as you stated). My level 1 kits can do more than I've seen on some guys coming in at lvl 15 lol I don't care what class people play. I play Routine to level up my Prestiges then move on to Threatening to top them off. I don't mind failing a mission or two, but it's a whole different story when scrubs high-jack your lobby and purposely tank Zone 5 (after they gots their moneyz). It makes hosting lobbies a PITA when you have to start a brand new one and wait another 10 mins. At some point I WOULD like to complete my Threatening/Perilous challenges. js

Whoever said it was probably a scrubs themselves. Noone worth their salt would say the Assassins suck. Noob translation: I played it and sucked at it, therefore the kit sucks.

Not as Isolated as you'd think actually, the Sin build thread has a couple of folks (myself included) talking about the abuse we get over the voice chat for playing to the classes strengths (picking off dangerous and Isolated targets) because it's not their idea of "team play".

I'm sorry these people are being simple assholes, for lack of a better term, but some human beings just act that way regardless. I don't think it's fair for you to identify a large portion of players as being the pricks you're describing when it's most likely a minority of a minority of players. Just because a few people act like this, you shouldn't automatically expect everyone else to act the same way. Also, your evidence is anecdotal so it is isolated. I don't think anyone can say that they go into every game and have a group kicking for elitism that's misguided by stupidity.

I'd think just displaying players prestige lvl on their banner would help solve this issue. having players inspect gear would just involve necessary time being wasted and ppl kicking adaquate players just bc they feel they are undergeared. it would be safer to assume someone who has higher prestige has a better grasp of the game and if they are bringinga. low lvl or undergeared character to the team then they atleast know what they are getting into.

All we need to see is their equipped weapon's DPS. That's it.

Now Prestige Banners, Icons and titles would be really nice to have and display.

It's a rough guideline that someone that has them knows their class well.

I do like that Armor can also reflect experience, personally I'd do away with the RNG armor unlocks (only class unlocks kept) and add a resource cache in its place with a higher chance of getting Cloth due to it being the slowest to obtain resource.

It's one of the few actual forms of progression in Multiplayer that does feel like progression.

Just wish the Assassin mask was actually on the Assassins face and not on the back of the hood.

I don't think I need to see other people's columns of numbers, but gear and equipped abilities with their tooltips would be helpful.
