Are there any compound bows in the game?

I doubt it, its a fairly new invention. But maybe Bianca could invent one in the future I guess.

The compound bow, assuming you mean the lever and pulley bow, was developed only 50 years ago or so. Prior to that, compound bow and composite bow were used interchangeably.  So if you mean a composite bow...one made by laminating multiple pieces of material together rather from a single bowstave, then yes those are in the game effectively.

 

While there's nothing labeled a composite bow, the crafted bows use materials in a way that clearly indicated composite construction.
