How do you use KE in tactical?

I play only in tactical camera mode as 1) the tactics system is plain gone and 2) even with the tactics system, the AI is never as good as frequent pausing and manual control.

That being said, I've found the KE to be pretty much garbage as it's exceedingly difficult to get the KE to use fade cloak and then stand on top of an enemy because if you click on them, you just autoattack, and if you click beyond them, you have to make sure you stop at just the right time or you walk right through them. As this is a huge portion of their damage, if you have the AI turned off, it's a huge chore to get it to work (does the AI even do this at all? I don't know because I have it turned off).

Also, the spirit blade upgrade that reflects projectiles is useless too as you can't use spirit blade in tactical mode without actually meleeing the enemy. Is there any way around this? Or do I seriously have to switch camera modes so I can reflect things?

It's exceedingly frustrating that the Knight Enchanter basically forces me out of tactical camera mode to use it properly. It's pretty much all the time too as the abilities are on super low cooldown and not mana intensive. I really like them and think they have an awesome kit, but if I can't properly use it in tactical mode, I leave Vivienne behind : (   Which sucks because Vivienne is just plain awesome.

The only way to have KE work is to play it yourself. Just roll a mage and go KE, or if you absolutely can't live without Viv (I personally don't like her much, or at least I like her less than Solas and Dorian, so she really just doesn't exist to me), you can just control her yourself and let Charname do its thing (unless you rolled melee, and then you're just SOL because the ai just can't handle being melee in any capacity unless it's a SnS warrior).

In other words, don't play KE if you want to use the tactical camera? : (

More or less, yes.Or at least don't try to control it from within tacview beyond casting Fire Mine/Immolate/other-things-that-have-nothing-to-do-with-the-KE-tree.

I play on nightmare on PC and use tactical view 100% of the time and turn all AI off.  So for me, KE was useless.  Thankfully Solas rift mage spec is pretty cool and works perfectly with overhead cam.  KE seems like a mash mash mash console build tbh.

More like a hold down "1" for victory build.

Kind of reminds me of playing a mage in old Lineage 2. You could afk raid by targeting the raid boss and taping over whatever button was assinged to your primary nuke. Of course raids could last for hours, so this was perhaps the only viable way to raid. Well archers still had it easier since they could just autoattack and not have to worry about even having to tape a single key down. Damned dirty archers.

Having now finished the game at around 65 hours, I can report that I still use Vivienne effectively even with the KE abilities. For those who might have the same problems I did, I found that using fade cloak, immediately pausing and then telling her to walk to the other side of an enemy and then pausing immediately as you see her move at all and tell her to use spirit blade. You barely have to be inside their hitbox for the fade cloak to go off, so it's not worth trying to position her in the middle of them.

As for the reflecting projectiles....it still sucks, but I did use it successfully on dragons by quickly switching to 3rd person and reflecting it back.
