Who is the better the Wildcard and why?

Ofcourse no one can defeat the crazy that comes from Sera, but at least Isabela was relevant to the story right? I'm actually afraid Isabela is going to start another war or release another ancient magister.

I like Isabela because of the trouble she gets us into, and how irreverent she is with regards to magic phenomena. She is not afraid of demons and spirits or the fade or blood mages or elves or ancient petrification curses, she just laughs in the face of danger (literally). Also she has enough cunning to evade the Qunari and (if you betray her) escape them.

If she was with us at the elven temple of the well of sorrows, she would have probably stolen something important or commented on how little treasure we found. It is stereotypical but exciting.

She also actually develops as a character.

I'm still not sure about Sera though.Beyond pranking or killing rich people I don't see the appeal of her otherwise mundane existence. There is no aura of magic and adventure.

I prefered Sera. Isabella just seemed to hang around for sex appeal.

I thought Sera was closer to Jack then Isabella. Sera and Jack struck me as the screw you ill do what i like type. Isabella seemed more like the let me wiggle to get what i want type.

I prefer to think in terms of default combat role, therefore:

Nathaniel>Sera>DA2 Varric>Leliana>Sebastian>DAI Varric

Sigrun>Isabela>Zevran>Cole

Isabela was deliciously slutty and it worked for her. Women can even see her as strong and independent if they want.

Sera is just random imo. She is sort of like a crazy, not as likeable female robin hood.

Isabella is bro.

Sera is rather self-hating. You can dismiss elves for as long as you like, others will still look at you and see an elf.

I prefer Sera over Isabella. Isabella is a mercenary sex toy who causes at least as many problems as she solves.  She's funny, but she has no interest in your causes, just in you. Not to mention she lies to you for half of DA2 and actually caused the problem with the Qunari.

Sera is more crass and ill educated, but she's passionate about the problem.  She's trying to save the world, not just pal around with you. While you may dislike the fact that she has strong opinions and a lack of tact, the fact remains that she'd be trying to put things right even if you weren't involved. While tactless, she's not actually any more narrow minded and judgmental than the majority of your companions.

Sera isn't self-hating.  She doesn't hate being an elf.  She hates an elf culture based around playing the victim card and whinging about the past.  Do you say that Varric's self hating because he thinks Orzammar's culture is stodgy, doomed, and generally stupid?

Bad comparison. Sera is nothing like Isabela and vice versa. If you want to compare her to a bioware character overall, it should be Jack.

You're using two women with completely different personalities.

This is not even up for debate.

It's like comparing a Fiat Punto to a Koenigsegg CC.

Isabella is a stereotypical pirate with large boobs, but she actually HAS character development and a personality.

Sera is the non-stereotypical elf to the point of being annoying. She has no character development, she talks in circles, and has no clear meaning as to why she's here and what she's doing aside from "Helping the 'little people' and 'taking out nobles'" Yay? Go you?

... So Isabella wins.

I prefer Sera.

  • 95% of the time I understand what she's saying.
  • I don't always agree with her methods, but I "generally" agree with what she's doing.
  • I don't think she would allow a situation like the one in Kirkwall to happen.

That said she has a shorter fuse than Isabela.

They have different personalities yet they kind of fill the same role(not the same combat role ofcourse) in the group.

Isabela. She's had the most fun personality of the group in DA2. I think Sera is fun, but Isabela's a tough act to follow as far as the scoundrel type characters go. That said, Sera is definitely an interesting character. I'd bet the two would get along.

I thought Isabellas role in the group was lady with large breast. Sera cant even come close to filling that shirt...err role. Filling that role.

Sera is nothing like Jack or Isabela, who are two of the best characters of any BioWare games. Both are charming and wild but have a moral compass (even if they're not as up-front about it.)

Sera is a violent psychopath with the personality and intelligence of a teenaged English brat.

Going down her personal story, I think she is very much aware of the discrimination against elves, and reacts very hostilely against it. She doesn't just hate the victim card playing, but the general culture at large. Instead of disinterest, she is confrontational. Varric states very reasonable reasons on why he had issues with Orzammar.

Sera reminds me of an immigrant friend who would regularly put down her parents' culture/perceived culture, and mock her own ethnicity with typical stereotypes. She grew up in an environment that said she is less, and lashed out at the "lesser" part of herself in an attempt to fit in. It is painful to watch.
