 loud, psychotic and obnoxious .

I'll grant loud and obnoxious, but she's not remotely psychotic. She doesn't demonstrate any signs of mental illness, much less psychosis. Opinionated and tactless is not insane.

Isabela and Sera have very little in common.

That said, I love Isabela. She's one of my favourite companions in the whole series and canon LI for my Hawke. I found her fun, self aware, surprisingly wise and loyal, although she made me curse a couple of times at the end of Act 2. As for Sera, I still find her grating but she's grown on me a bit.

Morrigan still the best wildcard in game.

Not only that, she even has your child.

At least Isabella was romanceable, Sera seems awfully frigid for her personality.

Definitely liked Isabela better in pretty much every way.

I didn't get this impression, though I assume that this is with regards to approaching her with a male character.

They're very different characters, but I would definitely pick Isabela.

Isabela by miles.  Isabela has a disease.  Sera is a disease.

The thing about Isabela is that she's a much more easygoing character. Both Sera and Izzy have a general idgaf attitude, but Sera is much more high strung and has little causes of her own, with considerably strong emotions attached to them. Isabela doesn't.

Isabela was deliciously slutty and it worked for her.

Cant even think of another companion that comes even close to her in that regard.

Love em both but Isabela is my favourite character in the series.

Still, anyone who can do this to a dragon is awesome IMO.

Isabela by far for me.   It really isn't even a close competition.   Isabela was a free-spirit type who lived free in the world.   Even though she lived life by her own rules, she had a good heart and a reason for why she did things.

Sera seems to be just another grungy "Rage without a cause" type who doesn't seem to have the mental capacity to realize her own actions.   We have enough of those in the real world.   She's a very believable character for all that, just not very likeable.

I tell you, they're both annoying, but atleast Sera makes me laugh. Isabela spouted sex jokes all day and wasn't funny, she was just annoying. When the time came to do No Rest for the Wicked, when you give her to Velasco. I relished it, because I got to punch her in the mouth and knock her out. Sigh...good times.

Dunno. Isabela is less annoying, Sera didn't murder a whole bunch of slaves.

I thought Sera was closer to Jack then Isabella. Sera and Jack struck me as the screw you ill do what i like type. Isabella seemed more like the let me wiggle to get what i want type.

Jack > Isabela > Sera

Edit: I like all three btw just in different ways.

You want to talk about a character with no progression? Let's look at a character with actual regression. Fan favorite Leliana.

Go back and replay her personal story in DA:O, have all those magical conversations again, I'll wait....

Now relive the exact same character progression all over again in DA:I! Twice as nice! Enjoy conversations full of, I don't know what the maker wants! Am I doing the right thing? I wasn't sure you would approve of my methods. Should I be more stabby? The answer is yes! You seemed to embrace the answer when my warden told you to embrace that side of yourself, do whatever it takes. Yet some how here we are having the same damn conversations all over again, and me telling you to stab crap, again.

At least Sera was decent enough to tell me to shut up about it, so I don't have to have the same conversations all over again.

Oh well at least I can look forward to Dragon age:5 when I again get to listen to Leliana whine about the maker and encourage her to be stab things harder...again.

If there was a brooding class, Leliana would be the one with her hand up all the time, stealing Fenris' thunder.

In the comics, it's revealed she threw a bunch of slaves overboard to escape capture, in a voyage prior to the one referenced in the game.

Interesting. Fenris would've had a field day with that one.

When Hawke is in need of comforting, Isabela goes to them (if romanced but still) by herself and does her best.

If the Inquisitor is in need of comforting, Sera laughs at her face.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of Isabela (and really, what with hiding the tome of Koslun she's as much of an ass as Sera) but at least she has minimal amounts of tact.

If it didn't happen in my game it didn't happen in my in game universe.
