No, no. This game was made for the PC from the ground up. The PC game controls are perfect, It has to be, YOU, the player whom is at fault, doesn't it?
I must try this hack you have mentioned because it will probably be next Christmas before BW, finish counting the money they have made, and get around to doing something about it..

Ok the PC controls are wonky but not unworkable. With the biggest issues being a lack of ability to control exactly what you're targeting in melee and the tactical camera being straight up bad.
Tolerable isn't glowing praise here but it's not as bad as say Of Orcs and Men.
The real time controls are terrible for playing in real time with KBM, but that's not the attempted DAO/DA2 analogue. Despite all of its flaws, tactical mode is the analogue. I wonder how many problems have been caused on KBM by making "action mode" the default combat mode.
I didn't have any problems playing in action mode for hundreds of hours in either DAO or DA2 because the controls were there for it. Neither did those controls pose an inconvenience for the players who played in, and enjoyed, the tactical mode for DAO. In DAI I've only jumped to tac cam when moving my ranged away from dragons, because otherwise I can't get them to go where I put them.
Action mode is totally fine for casual play, but that doesn't mean the controls have to be frustrating to use. I'm not asking for the game to be easier, I'm asking for it to be made more fun.
