So I played DAO and DA2 as a Blood Mage. I have never liked the Templars and would be firmly in the "mages need to be free" camp.

I played DAI as a Dalish mage who had never been to the Circle. I always made anti-chantry and anti-Circle comments.

I did every single Inner Circle quest offered.

 

Imagine my shock when Vivian was the new Divine. I kept Vivian around because her Knight Enchanter spec is nice but I always disagreed with her on topic of the Circle and never really liked her.

 

I wanted Lelliana to be the new divine. I have no idea what causes the game to choose this though. Oddly enough Lelliana completely disappeared from Skyhold after I talked to her one time about the fact that she was on the short list of people. Maybe my game was bugged but she was only at the War Table. Not her spot in the tower.

 

Anyone know what causes the game to trigger who is the new divine?
