After spending hours trying to get past the "Failed to Find Steam" error, I finally got Jade Empire working, and tried setting the config utility for maximum settings, including anti-aliasing x4.
Unfortunately, that produced a very choppy game (despite having a relatively recent laptop...) so I figured I'd better turn down some settings.
Whenever I try to run the config utility now, I get a "parameter is incorrect" message, and I'm unable to change or alter any of the settings. The game really isn't playable in the current state, so is there any way to force the config utility to reset to the default settings, or some other way around the bug?
Edit: The config utility now crashes every time I attempt to start it, or I get an "Out of memory" error.
Edit2: Now the game crashes every time I attempt to start it. It isn't even using a fraction of my machine's resources. I don't understand why this game is having so many bugs and problems...
