My (diplomatic) Hawke romanced Anders and left him behind to protect him from Corypheus. Yeah, I can see him not wanting to leave Anders, but Anders is a bit more vulnerable to Corypheus than any of the non-Warden LIs, so in this one case, I could see him leaving Anders behind. But I could *never* import a save where Alistair remained a Warden. Not with that Hawke. With my Isabela-mancing Hawke, sure, Isabela will be fine no matter what happens, but not Anders.

It made some sense for Anders but the others not so much, why not make it were Anders is off with Carver and Aveline?

Probably the same reason Varric "doesn't know where he is"  Anders is a mass murdering terrorist. His location and exposure would most likely be really limited. Who knows, he could be with them but with Carver's and Aveline's personalities, I think they would have killed him or turned him in.

In my game, Hawke sounded like he didn't want to get Isabela involved in his fight. As explanations go, its the only one I would have found acceptable.

Sebastian Vael - saying he will attack Kirkwall because it harbors traitors who knew where Anders went but won't say anything. Basically- Sebastian wants Anders' head on a pike. Anders has flat out "disappeared."

Do any of the Hawke convo's elaborate on where Anders is? I also romanced him on one play through but imported my Fenris one because... Fenris.

There is a war table mission where Sebastian invades Kirkwall and asks for support. You can either decline, send support to Seabass, or send support to Aveline to aid Kirkwall

That may depend on personality.  I rivalmanced Merrill and got the spider rant, which was appropriate given my Hawke had the snarky personality.

"Sorry Fenris" - I think that would have killed me. I would have had to reload and choose whoever the other person was.

I don't recall Hawke acknowledging Merrill in that scene, either, and my apostate befriended her.

I doubt Bioware would base such an apology on personality, it's too important for those who romanced their Hawke. At least I hope they didn't.

 

So, any Isabela/Anders-mancers, who sacrificed their Hawkes and can enlighten us on the matter?

Also, after everything they went through, with Fenris' severe trust issues... Hawke just up and leaves him for months at a time without telling him where he went?

 

I'm sorry but that's incredibly ooc for my Hawke. I know they said "Hawke is no longer your character" but they wrote Hawke as compassionate and understanding and patient towards Fenris... and now this.

I hope it's a joke, because if you seriously think that your partner cannot have their space and time to work out their internal issues, you probably shouldn't engage in relationship to begin with.

Kind of sad but I liked that Hawke and Fenris's relationship was strong enough that they could each do their own thing and still have a relationship. Not exactly "happily ever after" but maybe "happily someday after" lol

In my epilogue Hawke disappeared yet again, so once again, I have no clue. 

 

Not really terribly invested in my Hawke's Isabela romance, but...bah.

Kind of sad but I liked that Hawke and Fenris's relationship was strong enough that they could each do their own thing and still have a relationship. Not exactly "happily ever after" but maybe "happily someday after" lol

And Varric lied about knowing where Hawke is.  He can spin what ever story he wants, doesn't mean he was lying or telling the truth, or even the whole truth.

Hawke's excuse was pretty much bs imo, at least for Fenris-romancing Hawkes. Makes sense though, if I like a pairing it tends to pretty much get ignored/crapped on.

Not to mention she just trots off to Weisshaupt like "..reunion? With the guy I love? Nah I'd much rather be forced into another stupid and contrived plot situation." *grumbleannoyedfangirlgrumble*

 

It was so OOC for my Hawke, along with many other things about her cameo. At least I can headcanon a pretty.... entertaining reunion eventually. Well, not for Hawke. I honestly feel a bit bad for her. I foresee lots of yelling.

What location did you get this banter in? I had heard of it before but I ran around with Varric and Cass for hours and didn't get anything but normal banter (mostly in Emerald Graves and Western Approach)

I honestly can't remember. Exalted Plains, maybe? Anyway, I think all banter is random and location shouldn't matter much. Keep trying! And good luck

And then he'll kill her himself for leaving him behind without so much as a word, and how dare she do that to him after all the time they've been together, does his love mean nothing anymore, she abandoned him, typical mage behavior! And then she'll yell at him saying she's trying to apologize, would he shut up for two seconds so she can explain, and what does her being a mage have to do with anything?! And then cue intense make-out session.
