I was wondering how specifically the Mages or Templars help you seal the Breach as the Herald. The animation or dialogue isn't very clear. Did anyone else feel confused about why we needed them? Thanks!

Well witg the magi i assume it was a focused amplication of your power(a spell of boosting mana if you will) while templars merely weakened the rift

And a good one because that's what the advisors say when you first meet them. Cassandra and Leliana point out that 'enough magic poured into that mark' can close the breech and that's achieved through the help of mages. Cullen disagrees and says that the templars can 'suppress and weaken it (the veil)' to help you seal it. Either choice I believe you more or less draw power through their sheer willpower or as I would call them 'invisible magics' which makes sense
