As the title says. I am close to finale, just before doing Arbor Wilds with everything else cleared, and they never appeared in my quest log. The quests in question are Blackwall's "Explanations Revelations" and Dorian's second quest (normal one, not the romance). Talked with characters after every major quest during my playthrough before and they never offered them. I did their first quests with artifacts and killing Venatori long time ago and that was all I got from them. After reading about them, I know that Blackwall disappears from the Keep just before his second quest but this never happened, he is in the Keep all the time. So is there any way for them to trigger or is it simply a bug you can't do anything about? Not even sure what could cause them, hoped they would show up later, other companion quests turned out fine.
Blackwall's and Dorian's second companion quests never appeared

If you've completed Explanations, you need to complete Wicked Hearts and Here Lies the Abyss before you can get Revelations.

You've explored all the dialogue options with Dorian and Blackwall correct? That's what was stopping me from getting Bull's companion quest to trigger. Other then that, try taking them with you when killing the enemies that gives them approval, then fast traveling back to Skyhold, that might make it trigger

The only quest from Blackwall I ever got was this one: http://dragonage.wik...ies_of_the_Grey Completed it long time ago. Never got Explanations to begin with. Currently, I don't have any companion quests active, done what was to do. Completed Here Lies the Abyss long time ago, Wicked Hearts just recently. After Wicked Hearts I got Vivienne's and Leliana's quests, and that was all. Blackwall is simply in the Keep, the only dialogue options he offers are asking about inquisition and companions (he mentions them in random order).

It's based on approval, as far as I know, if the quests don't show up you probably don't have enough approval with them. The Dorian quest is actually given by Mother Giselle(once you have enough approval with Dorian), she appears in the throne room near Varric. For me, I got it to appear shortly after I got to Skyhold. I was really careful of what dialogue choices I picked as to always get approval. Remember that companions react to your choices in the main plot, so that might have affected this.

Sera's example appears to deny that as I had lots of disapprovals from her (and not only her, none of my dialogues were perfect but other companions offered mi their quests), yet got her companion quests, while I had mostly approvals from Blackwall and Dorian (even had Grey Wardens stay, to which Blackwall approved), not getting their quests in the end. Mother Giselle appears to be bugged as she never left the garden in my case. I've seen that Blackwall leaves during his companion quest, so low approval would even fit here (if it mattered in the first place). My friend chose only dialogues with approval and he still didn't get Dorian's quest. As for Blackwall, some people got his second quest even without completing the first one with artifacts, so I'm not really sure what to do in this case and what could affect this bug.

Hmm no idea, then. Did you and Dorian talk about Alexius' son(forgot his name)?

Well, I exhausted all of Dorian's dialogues. Must be a bug then without known workaround (probably not possible in 100+ hour playthrough near the end anyway). I looked for a solution myself as well, and it seems some people get only Blackwall's, some people don't get both like me. Doesn't seem approval affects anything here, as some people got Blackwall's quest when he disapproved in most dialogues. Although it seems pretty random, can't find exact reason as to why this happens.

Pretty sure it's based on approval, well at least one of the factors is approval, there could be others I guess, as I was experimenting with dialogue options with Sera and Dorian(I'd do this with most party members just to see which options give approval and which don't). I would save a game and start talking to her. I'd pick dialogue options that give no approval. Once I was done, I'd try talking to her again. No new interactions available. Do a reload. Talk to her again, pick a dialogue option that gave "Sera slightly approves". Finish talking to her. Her romance "gift quest" initiated. Same with Dorian with the convo about Alexius' son. If I picked bad option, his quest would not appear. If I picked several approval options, Mother Giselle would appear in the throne room. So I don't know, maybe it was bugged for you. You can always try killing a couple of darkspawn enemies with Blackwall in the party. That usually gives approval with him. See if that changes anything.

Perhaps, although if approval mattered that much, then I shouldn't get Sera's quest since she disapproved most of things my character said. Even during the dialogue, an option appeared to remove her from Inquisition or to let her stay anyway, after I disagreed with her while relations with Blackwall and Dorian were much better. Finding Darkspawn might be hard now, at least I don't see any in Storm Coast, since they were replace by Red Templars there. Read different versions about why those quests do not appear, not sure which is true or which applies here. Looks like I am "lucky" with my Dragon Age games going bonkers, still it's not as bad as Origins (it was a much bigger bugfest than this one). It's only disappointing to find out about those bugs that late in the game.

I'm having this exact same issue. It's really quite vexing, tbh.

Dorian's second quest does have a confirmed bug: http://forum.bioware...nt-start/page-3.
I've had the same problem; Dorian has nothing new to say and Mother Giselle won't leave the bloody garden.

Just to clarify, for those having trouble with Dorian: You know that it triggers through speaking with Mother Giselle and not by speaking directly to Dorian, right?
Hoping I won't have the issue that's been mentioned with Blackwall as I'm romancing him. Revelations didn't begin after Explanations and after a (short, unsatisfying) "love" scene, but I'm re-loading a previous save and moving ahead with the main storyline before re-doing Explanations. Hopefully that will work...

Dorian's is triggered when he gets a letter form Felix, right after Giselle is in the main hall briefly, miss her and you miss the quest. Black wall's should trigger right after Wicked Hearts, he won't be available as a party member - go to Val Roueaux, that starts the quest.

Damn I do remember seeing the mother in the main hall and i just did something else. Now I can't get Dorian's quest. Oh well I'll make sure I do everything right my second time through.
