I heard it has a lot, Bioware said about 200hours but can anyone who has done a completionist run confirm that? I believe CDProjekt Red said that the Witcher 3 is supposed to have about 100hours which considering that is half the amount that Inquisition is supposed to have it means Inquisition is twice as good as Witcher 3 could ever hope to be which finally settles the argument over which series is better and confirms that Dragon Age is in fact the superior Dark Fantasy series. But that being said does anyone know exactly how long it takes to do a completionist run of Inquisition?

Now we know that the main story and companion quests account to roughly 15 hours of the game's total content but that is only if you are lazy and skip the rest of the side activities like shard collection and goat herding, but provided you do all that side content how long will a full playthrough take you?

Because the amount of time you put into a game = how great it is. Totally.

As for the completionist: It's not even 200. Maybe 120-130 at most. I almost finished the game at 70 hours into it missing only a couple mosaic pieces, a dragon or two, and The Howling Wastes.

I don't have your answer, but hours of gameplay does not equal better game. The quality of gameplay matters more. That being said I don't like the witcher series so **** it. DA is way better.

Well yeah it must be, I mean why else would the professional review sites give Inquisition such high scores?

Because it's a really damned good game all in all. And to answer your trolly question: Took me 122 hours, everything but a couple of the mosaics done.

I am over 160. And I am happily doing my second run. If my husband didn't confiscate my computer and game for himself, I might have had that much time in the second run too by now.

While size alone is not definition of how good a game is (like Skyrim, which I didn't like).

Depending on the personality you chose for the inquisitor, this can vary a lot. Some will go after the red lyrium cases, because they view it as main plot (like my first inquisitor), and that takes up quite a time. Some will ignore it and go straight for the boss. It'll take way less time for them. It also matters how agile you are with combat and if you read the codex and listen to the songs etc. I happen to do those too all the time. I didn't craft much though, so if you craft that also adds time. I just suggest it is not the time aspect you focus on. There is more fun to have then counting hours in this game. :)

about 20 hours of game play and about 90 hours of crappy jumping and trying to find the ONE possible way to get to all of the fetch quest objectives and navigating some of the most beautiful, yet cluttered and horribly designed maps that will make you want to kill yourself in gaming history.

I had time played 85 hours on a near completionist run. One dragon, several tiles and a couple of bottles left to do. All quests and operations done (operations can be done while offline though, that helps when they take like 21 hours)

Well, that was the first thing I learnt:

Skip the annoying jumping stuff and also most of the "fetch-quests".

You won't miss much and avoid lots of frustration.

If you just do the main quest an enough side content to gain the power to unlock it, about 30 - 35 hours, the rest is exploration an side quests

If you didnt need power to unlock you prob talking alot less, maybe 15- 20 hours

Real story content or padding? The former clocks in at about 20 hours, the latter at about 80.

20  to 30 hours.I don't count the travelling and filler content.I would have counted it if the quality of sidequests was better.

I think it should be said that it is ok to have a short game.As long as there is a good experience to be had.I hope CDP don't decide to dilute the game with crap like Bioware did here.

But hope is bad.

There is a **** ton if you waste time by trying to reach every stupid shard and fetch quest area.  Open world my ass.

I just finished today at 115 hours - NOT going full completionist. I did all the companion stuff and almost all the side quests. I didn't close all the fade rifts or find the hidden spots from the maps you can find. I didn't work out all the mini games with lanterns or whatever. I didn't do all the requisitions.

I imagine if I finished everything I didn't so I would have been right at 130. Maybe a bit more.

I think it can be as much as you want really. Actual content if you do all the things possible could be easily over 100 hours. Now whether or not you want to because many of them could get tedious, mundane and boring - well that's another story. I think it depends upon you and how you feel about it different aspects of the game, but in all honesty, there are many aspects to it. Collecting things, crafting, even though I find several maps boring, if you like to travel around them then that could be hours right there. Many hours. It's really RPG in that respect - that you can make it your own game in how you wish to spend your time, but for those of us that wanted more interesting things to do it's not as fulfilling but still, there is content and possibilities.

There is about 20 to 25 hours of solid main story content, from what I've heard. I didn't actually track it myself.

My current save is at 84 hours. I have yet to finish Hissing Wastes and start Emprise du Lion and Emerald Graves. Not to mention I have several mosaic pieces lying about as well as a few odds and ends.

I'm not a completionist, but my first playthrough took around 130 hours.

That includes almost all the sidequests.  Found most of the areas/landmarks. a large number of mosaic pieces, though I didn't complete  a single mosaic.

And that time includes listening to the majority of the voice acting/convos, reading most of the codex entries, etc.

My first playthrough according to Origin is 99 hours. Missed 100 by that much.  I think I'll get through much faster now unless I'm trying a new area.  I don't do everything.

I don't believe it has even close to 200 hours of content.

I am at 108 hours and have almost everything done except 5 mosaic pieces and 2 bottles.

Actual interesting content I would put at maybe 20 hours. The rest is just filler.

A round number for a "completionist" playthrough, which I've done myself (and finished just very recently) would be 100 hours.

It can be done in perhaps 80 to 85 hours if you're "faster". I for one played on Hard, and finished it at Level 24 and a half or so, and my load saved game indicates 97 hours. I would probably have to remove maybe 4 or 5 hours from that count because there were times during which I let the game run (just paused) while I had to go out and forgot to close the game, happened a few times, so it didn't count for actual play time. So in my case I'd say all in all it probably was around 90 to maybe 92 hours.

Going beyond the 100 hours mark is probably because the player simply takes his/her time on purpose and just does everything very slowly while not only doing the actual tasks but merely stopping by to look at the environments, taking pictures of the scenery (which I did myself a few times), gathering materials for the heck of it (even without the need to, just to have something to do while exploring), etc. If I wanted to I could have stopped by some waterfalls and could have stood there for 2 hours, but I'm not that patient. Not to mention that some people role-play a lot (I do, but I'm more on the "casual" RP side of things in BioWare games), so I can easily imagine someone staying in Skyhold's tavern for 2 or 3 hours, or just walking around Redcliff for fun for another hour. That certainly "inflates" the game-play time without necessarily accomplishing anything (other than observing, and role-playing).

I would find it tough to believe that outside of doing the above, if a person only wants to "complete" things that can be done and call that a completionist run (like I and many others did) then that's about 80 to 90 hours I'd say, 100 tops. Beyond that - to repeat myself - is probably because the person takes their time for 'x' reasons and on purpose simply because that's how they like to play (which is completely fine by the way, everyone enjoys it how they want to). Honestly though, 200 hours... that would only be someone who just keeps playing the game after they beat it and the time accumulates on their saved game (there's no real reason to continue playing after you beat the game by the way, it's "there", you can explore, or re-explore if you want, but at that point the game becomes a void and feels lifeless, might as well just restart a new one).
