You only have to make one small change to the file. Change a number from 1.0 to 0.4 (or whatever you chose)
If you back up the file first you really can't go wrong. And having played the game for some time now since I made the change I can tell you that for me it made a lot of difference.
I'm sure the developers will include it in some patch but that might take a while.

Different buttons for sprint/cover/use/crouch
Buttons to switch weapons (e.g, 1,2,3,4)
Button to see objectives
Can't be that hard, Demiurge did it, after all.

However, keep in mind guys, ME2 was JUST released, so a patch will take some time to get working. In the mean time as far as video stuff goes, we've got the setup utility, and our driver control panels. Control-wise we'll have to cross our fingers.

Shouldn't have to change anything at the OS level, especially something like mouse speed to be able to play a game proper. That just sounds like the joke that was Stalin vs. Martians.

I agree, you shouldn't have to. Doesn't mean it wont work.FreyarS wrote...

Naw, editing configs has been a staple of PC gaming ever since DOS. It's always been the "I know how to make this better than a majority of the idiots using the software do." scenario. Sadly it's been becoming more mandatory as of late, but it isn't a surprise.

These ini files are sensitive, you can change them and replace all you want, but you HAVE to keep the end result at the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF SIGNS that you started with, or the game will crash.
For example:
bEnableMouseSmoothing=FALSE
bEnableMouseSmoothing=TRUE
As you can see the latter lacks a letter, making the total less than what you started with, if you save this, the game will crash.
To fix it, go down to "RotationSensitivityHigh=1.0 and add another 1 at the end.
Should be: "RotationSensitivityHigh=1.01" (As far as my tests have show, the rotation sensitivities don't change the camera speed ingame at all)
Congrats, now you have equalized the amount of signs and the game should not crash anymore.
The "MouseSensitivity=1.0" line is the correct one to edit, and best of all, it doesn't affect the mouse pointer ingame, so unlike changing on the fly sensitivity or DPI, you won't be stuck with a slow mouse pointer for the minigames.

You would think there haven't been any advances in game technology since the first Mass Effect 2 came out.
I bought this game yesterday, and I'm badly disappointed. After DA:O was such a great and slick game, I thought ME2 would be great also. It is not.
You can bet there will never be a demo for this game, because anyone who tried it out would never buy it.

changing
true
to
false
means you need to cut a char off somewhere else, preferably some zero off some n.1234500000 string

Forget about mouse sensitivity. The controls and movement for this game are as stiff and clumsy as any I've ever seen. This is a disaster, IMHO. You can only sprint in a straight line. Even the first Quake felt smoother than this.

I would, even in spite of the sensitivity issue I think this game rocks.
And btw, go outside, try running as fast as you can sideways while looking straight ahead.
Yeah, doesn't work, does it?
You don't hear me complaining about ME2 not being more like Prototype, in that game I could jump off of a building, sprint in the air in any direction, stretch my arms out and fly.
Just because some games break the laws of physics in favour of the player doesn't mean they all should.

I'm playing this on default sensitivity without editing the ini whilst on my mouses highest DPI setting and it's fine.

The default sensitivity is way off the charts for me. If I flick the mouse trying to turn 90 degrees, the acceleration and high sensitivity makes me do at least a 360 spin. If I turn the sensitivity down outside the game, it's too difficult to navigate the menues, and I still suffer from mouselook acceleration.EroThraX wrote...

I've managed to fix the overall sensitivity and accel through the ini, but I still really, really hate how it's reduced so drastically when you raise your gun. I don't suppose anyone has found this value to be represented in the ini somewhere? I've poked at some TightAim values and whatnot, but to no effect.
