so after u finished Varric's personal quest, u get a hilarious and heartwarming scence of your companions and advisors having a good game of Wicked Grace. And there is a serious fan-service scene for the very strong-number of Cullenites in BSN. It was overall very good.

However, this scene just makes me hate Vivi even more. She did not even bother to join!!! Even Sera joined though she is drunk the whole time.

I would expect Solas to join as well and was disappointed he is not there. He is not even Dalish like me. Wonder why the devs exclude him? He can have some fun like Cullen!

Leiliana not joining also disappointed me. She is so different from the one in DAO. Guess the Justinia's death really affected her much.

I expect Solas turned down the invitation to the game(though, I haven't seen the scene while romancing Solas.  If he isn't present even then, that's a tad weird, but not completely abnormal).

But I have an inkling that Vivienne wasn't even invited to the game...  After all, the only one in the group that she's on cordial terms with is Cassandra...  She just tolerates the rest because the Inquisitor wishes them present...

This is easily one of my favorite scenes.

Moments like this are the reason I play Bioware games.

Vivienne not joining in on wicked grace makes you hate her even more? Wait what?

Vivienne would be an odd choice of character to show up for that and, if she did, she'd only end up a kill joy anyway. Her personality dictates either or, and to be otherwise would break character. The same could be said of Solas, I'm sure he would have found that frivolous considering he's all about learning and magic and elves and Coryphi-****. This was one of my favorite moments in the game, I think for the most part the people that were there, are the only ones that needed to be. Leliana would have been nice but she got rather broody and mopey in my playthrough, I'd just as well she left the Inquisition all together.

my feeling that she is not joining is because she thinks of the rest are merely peasants and not worthing socializing with. so struck-up!

I'm trying really, really hard to picture Vivienne playing Wicked Grace and... nothing. She's far more suited to reading, researching, and dealing with more serious matters then enjoy life and play a game. She's just not that type, not that she views the Inquisitior's companions are inferiors, but she just takes no joy in it. There are people like this in everyday life, so it's not weird.

Name the companion that would have invited Vivienne to a game of Wicked Grace...  And then, which companion could have done so without a hint of sarcasm or derision at the idea of her showing up...  Varric, Dorian, and Sera would have invited Vivienne, but the latter two would have done it for the giggles of the opportunity to annoy her for an hour.  And Varric can't really make anything not sound like a joke...

But both categories? I can only think of Josephine, and while she doesn't seem the type to set up the game, I highly doubt anyone asked Josephine to invite Vivienne.

If the Inquisitor was the one to set up the game, Vivienne would very likely have shown up, and probably even pretended to enjoy herself...

I think that's my new favourite cut scene in the entire series :D . It's Cole's reaction to Cullen's, um, loss that really sells it for me. And even though I'm not a Cullenite myself, I appreciate BioWare making sure that even those of us who didn't romance him would still get to see him naked.

i was thinking that everyone is invited by Varric and they have the option of not turning up.

Solas not turning up make some sense to me because he thinks he is Dalish when he is not. He is all about elven history and Wicked Grace is a human game.

Leiliana not turning up is probably because she is still questioning the Maker about Justinia's death and is probably too depressed to enjoy this game so she rejected.

For Vivi to reject coming, my thinking is she hates this kind of 'peasant stuff' because she think of herself as all high and almighty which sickens me.

In any case, I like the ambigurity of this scene so each of us can have our own theories of why certain companions did not turn up.

What I found weird about Solas not being there is that he does play with Iron Bull when he's in your party as you explore (from the random banter). Wait unless they're playing another game? Is... is that Wicked Grace or not? (the game they're playing together from random banter).

In party banter Solas explains (to Dorian or Iron Bull, I can't remember which) that he doesn't gamble anymore. I can't remember if he goes into detail why. I need to go find that banter video...

I got this scene after I'd finished Blackwall's personal quest, and his lies had been revealed.  The whole time, I was thinking "WHY is everyone still acting chummy with Blackwall at the table?"

Is there anyone at the table who shuns him after the reveal, though? I know Cass and Solas are upset (although Solas apologises later) but Cole, Dorian and Varric don't react negatively. In fact, Dorian apologises for ever thinking he was a thug, and I'm pretty sure Varric likes Blackwall better after he learns the truth. I don't think we ever really hear reactions from Cullen and Josephine, so that just leaves the Iron Bull, whose post-revelation banter I haven't heard yet.

Solas apologizes?  Damn, that I didn't hear.  I heard the one where he chews Blackwall out royally.

And no, noone at the table reacts differently to Blackwall.  The scene is best viewed before Blackwall's personal quest is underway, because it doesn't seem to take the resolution into consideration.

Hm.  Now I'm curious if it recognizes that he isn't in the party.  I hope it does; if I triggered the Wicked Grace scene before going to Val Royeux, or before pulling him out of the Orlesian prison, would he be gone?

I think Blackwall comments on Solas playing when you ask him about the inner circle.

"Don't play diamondback with Solas. I was teaching him the game and then he turned it around and beat me."
