I made this thread because I spent all my time since release on the gamefaqs board arguing over people saying this game sucks because "it isn't origins" and having my headcanon and lore speculation threads ignored. I needed a release, and came to the place where people actually enjoy the lore.

This is a sharing thread! Give us your in-depth headcanon that you think makes your story stand out among the endless wardens, hawkes and inquisitors. Go crazy. No rules. Hell, you can be the maker personified if you want.

As for my headcanon, a male dalish for both warden and inquisitor. The thing that got me to disregard the unlikelyness of two dalish becoming heros was (no doubt a popular headcanon) that they are brothers, separated in the same way Merrill is sent to be the first of clan sabrae because she was magically gifted. When I realized you could be a keepers' first, the story just clicked.

My inquisitor being at the conclave wasn't a coincidence. He was "involved" with Divine Justinia.

I know nasty right?

My headcanons:

DA:O- A female human mage, Solona "Lonnie" Amell, who fell in love with Alistair, but decided to make him king. After he broke up with her Zevran, who had fallen in love with our intrepid heroine, came and comforted her, causing her to fall in love with him (even though a part of her had loved him all along). They've been together ever since, and he hates being apart from her. She, on the other hand, can sometimes use a break from his exhausting but delightfully charming (and exuberant) personality. They're very supportive of each other. Meanwhile, Alistair is still in love with Lonnie and has tried to win her back once before. Zevran, believed at the time that of course Lonnie would choose the handsome king over the nameless assassin, and drunk himself into a stupor before Lonnie convinced him that he was being silly and she wanted only him.

DA:II- Marian Hawke is a female mage who uses sarcastic humor as a defense mechanism to help her come to terms with the incredible difficulties and heartbreaks she encounters in life. She is pro-mage, but oddly enough falls for a broody elf and can't bring herself to move on even when they break up. She's just surprised it's because of him temporarily regaining his memories instead of the fact that they seem to disagree on everything regarding mages.  Fortunately, he realizes his idiocy and reunites with her, refusing to ever part from her... until she sneaks out in the middle of the night to go fight Corypheus without him. Yeah, he's not happy about that... He plans to have some very strong words with her when he finally catches up to her.

DA:I- Tal-Vashoth Female Mage Qunari, named Herah Adaar, who ends up falling in love with Iron Bull after he becomes Tal-Vashoth himself. Despite initial concerns about her choice in lover from her parents, they eventually come to trust and approve of Iron Bull.

In my headcanon, her father was a Ben-Hassrath Re-educator, and her mother was a Tamassran Breeder. Her mother was sent to her father to be re-educated because she was not acting "according the Qun". Looking into her case though, her father learned that her mother wasn't being a rebel or trying to sow distension- she had just lost a child and was deeply depressed and mournful with no one to comfort her. As he got to know her he began to realize how harsh the Qun was to anyone who dared to be different, or who was just different naturally. Using some of his contacts, he had the Tamassran sent to a Qunari Colony in Rivani, and followed shortly after under the cover of a mission. Once he arrived, the two of them ran off together to the Free Marches, falling in love along the way and founding a secret village community of peaceful Tal-Vashoth and outcasts from other societies. The two of them at first simply called each other by Kadan, but when they became pregnant with Herah and decided to give her a name, they also decided to take individual names for themselves, with the two of them choosing names for each other rather than picking their own. Her mother's name is Kost, which means peace, and her father was named Taashath, which means calm. Their names were chosen based on what they had most brought to the other's life.
