I started out as a DW rogue but want to switch to archery, Ive noticed that when I was a mage, i found a lot of staves, and when I was a DW rogue, I found a lot of daggers, does your starting class affect what loot you get?

I found that as a mage, I find a ridiculous number of daggers and two handed weapons.

Cole and Iron Bull are both equipped very well. Everyone else, not so much.

any1 else know, because it seems every boss I fight drops an item exactly for my character.

Doesn't seem to. First run through was fairly balanced, but second run through I'm finding a ridiculous amount of bows (and I'm not running an archer).

Some things are fixed - the weapons you pick up at the beginning, for instance, or your starting weapons with the Flames of Inquisition pack, those depend on your class.  I think I've found more dagger schematics for DW rogue than I found for my S&S warrior.

Oddly, I stumbled onto two cave son the Storm Coast I hadn't found on my other playthrough, and I explored the Storm Coast as a human warrior crazy-thoroughly looking for a way to access that door at the south end.  I wonder if being a dwarf or a rogue gives me access to Dwarven ruins with their treasures...?

I don't think it matters. I'm playing my mage the most right now, and I find daggers EVERYWHERE!! Lol

I don't think it matters, but as my mage I get daggers that could supply 3 inquisition forces.   I think it is probably random, but dagger drops seem high.  And those ugly helms.  Plenty of those.

On my second play through now and I have to concur with raining daggers. Daggers, dagger schematics, dagger upgrades. They seem to be by far the most common random drop. And I was an archer first time. Now I'm a mage.

I can concur on the over abundance on daggers. I've remade my warrior twice now - he always got a butt-ton of daggers. Stopped playing him, made a rogue, 2 mages and another warrior (SnB this time). Only been playing 1 of the mages, mostly and... again its rainin' daggers. Everytime I go to sell its like 1-2 swords, maybe a staff or 3... and 8+ daggers. Every, damn, time.

Pretty sure that if you start as a rogue you find a lot of daggers, whereas if you start as a mage or warrior, you find a lot of daggers.

Ha see!

Starting class does determine what drops. If you play a mage, daggers will have the highest drop rate. If you play a dagger rogue, everything but daggers will drop.

THIS! THIS X1000! I'm a Mage and I haven't even gotten one Rare Mage armor piece and I'm 62 hours in. I've killed 5 Dragons and only one of them dropped me a Mage Staff. All of the other Dragons have given me Daggers and Rogue Rings. It's very disappointing to say the least. To make things worse last night I found a Rare Mage robe, but wait for the best part.... IT WAS ELF TRAINED ONLY! Yeah, ****** fantastic!
