Oh man, this again. It's like there's never any point to explaining why this is wrong, especially when we discover exactly what Corypheus can do when we get to the arbor wilds.

Amen.  I'll give it one more try.
*ahem*
Hawke couldn't leave the prison while Corypheus was still asleep.  Others recall that part?  It was "kill Corypheus and go home" or "leave Corypheus asleep in his cage, and die of hunger/thirst/old age in that prison."  Because it  it was a roach motel: there was no other way out.  The fact that Corypheus could hop bodies into any other tainted creature was then hinted at, but until the reveal during the attack on Have, we didn't know he would completely reconstitute himself.  I always assumed that the hints dropped meant Cory wasn't gone, I but I thought it was just his mind.

Seemed like a fairly unsurprising response to me. She is in the wrong, and she knows it. So, like most people, she shifts the blame and topic to something that makes her feel safer. Something she feels she has a leg in. Personally, while I certainly didn't mind her she was rather lucky that Hawke had bamf'd off at that point in my playthrough. I don't think I had a single, canonical Hawke who wouldn't take an arrow for Varric - or hesitate to put Bianca in her place over all the grief she's probably caused him over the past decade. Justified or not, because again we really only saw the briefest glimpse of what happened between them all, it wouldn't have mattered. You also especially do not hurt her friend and then try to threaten another for having the simple potential of doing the same thing. However, logically all it would have done would have just dragged Hawke into the mess and made things worse if she was there or had any say in the matter. I like to headcanon that my Inquisitor had her rushed out of Skyhold as soon as they returned on some mission or request, just to give Varric the breathing room.

This is all well and good, but the point of this thread is that we don't actually get any option to respond to her objectionable behavior, with the Inquisitor, Hawke or otherwise.

I would love to know what else people expect Hawke to have done. Even if she'd sat there and died of thirst rather than break the seals, they were already weakening and Corypheus was already mind-controlling a bunch of people while asleep. If she'd been magically genre savvy and realised he'd jumped bodies (which she has no reason to think he can do - remember, Hawke doesn't know how the Archdemon works!) then killing Larius/Janeka would have only lead to him jumping to the next-closest Warden. That could easily have been Carver or Bethany.

Don't forget the countless darkspawn lurking about the caves around them.

Man, simplistic as this Coryphedunce may be, he sure is a pain in the ass with this hydra business.

You know, I was kind of disappointed too. I thought I'd be able to get the DPS much higher on the crossbow. It's a one-of-a-kind weapon for goodness sake! There's nothing else like it in the world! I thought it was kind of neat though how Varric implies that dwarf girl you meet on his quest made it.

You best put "the person, and not the crossbow" in your thread title. Lest somebody gets hurt :police: . XD  lol

I think Bianca is kind of a bad omen. Varric no doubt got the Merchants' Guild to collect every crossbow ever made, so he can be the only one.

Bianca was annoying. Also, threatening the person who just took time out of their very busy schedule to help you is pretty rude. Not to mention uncalled for and childish.

I mean, seriously, this is who Varric has had his eye on this entire time? She's completely basic.

Lost a lot of respect for Varric, that he would actually go for someone so far beneath him. And it's like she threatens you at the end of her respective quest and I can't slap the **** out of her?

Varric may let that **** slide but I'm the gat dang Inquisitor, tell you hwat

Yeah I really disliked that you couldn't pick chaotic actions and responses. My Inquistor got dissed quite a few times and I had to sit there and put up with it or give weak responses.

It would've been interesting to be able to kill her on the spot, though it would (or perhaps should) lead to Varric suddenly leaving the Inquisition.

Bianca seems real cool, and has a sweet chemistry with Varric, but I was underwhelmed by the "story" behind the relationship. Obviously we don't know the whole thing, but the way the basic gist of it was revealed to us was very anti-climactic after having hear him say it's "the one story I'll never tell". Don't know what I was expecting. Maybe something with a little more angst. Or razzle dazzle.

The problem with that quest is that it just seems to end abruptly. Its conclusion just kind of arrives, and the screen says quest complete.

Ah yes, charming that one must say it's sad Varric would "go for someone so far beneath him". Always a nice thing when one must bring down a person just because someone else is interested in them.

Varric likes her. That's all that matters. Saying "she's beneath him" is.... certainly an asinine notion.

I'm a little disappointed she's a dwarf... I was expecting a little more from our dashing rouge. Something like an elven princess, a noble pirate, but just another surfaced dwarf was a bit meh.

It's hardly a surprise if you read the comics from not too long ago.

Yeah I never quite understood why she made a death threat since it was her fault with the red lyrium bit. I actually thought there would be more to it but it seem that ended pretty quickly. The fact that she made mention of Larius being a mage which in Awakenings he didn't look like a mage to me.

Too bad there wasn't a Renegade interrupt to kick her in the face or something that would of have been epic!

She makes the threat because Varric is under your care. Although she's responsible, that doesn't change how Varric's still putting his life on the line. She doesn't want him to be hurt, especially if we're careless. It's an understandable reaction, considering the state of the world.

And no, Larius isn't a mage. But that's the point. Larius wasn't Larius when she met him. Larius was gone by that point and Corypheus had taken over, using him as a conduit and turning him into a mage (possibly even shifting Larius' appearance to be less Ghoulish).

To be fair, he says the one story he can never tell is how he acquired Crossbow Bianca, because it would put Bianca's life in jeopardy (and IIRC potentially his own). He tells you about the relationship though. Romeo and Juliet basically I guess, minus the death and suicide and teenage angst.

Though I do wish Bianca was present for more then just a "Yeah this is her, now she's gone" quest.

Yeah...her presence in this game was very "Hi Bye". There was so much more they could have done for those two.

If I remember correctly, Isabela makes a similar threat against Hawke when romancing Merrill, only against somewhere further south than his eyes.

She does indeed make a threat against Hawke. I assume some didn't take it seriously because she said it with a smile, but I've no doubt she would follow through with it.

I thought it was really just an empty threat that she didn't really mean. I see that a lot where "if x gets hurt protag pays" cliché. Nothing serious.

Still, nice to know she's alive and well. Thought she was dead or held captive.

I did want to kick her like a football out of the room for all the trouble she caused and having the nerve to threaten my inquisitor. It is one of the few times I actually miss not having a renegade interrupt option in a game.

I wanted to slap the **** out of her after she threatened my Inquisitor considering it was after the revelation that she literally fueled the enemy's war machine through of her stupidity.
