I ship Varric with either Harding or Dagna.

You know, they do say love makes you stupid, but Varric is a pretty sharp fellow really, what's wrong with him walking away, however hard it would be to put it all behind him, He could break it off knowing the hurt now is better than stringing it out for years. In Dr Who Martha comes to that conclusion, and winds up leaving the 10th doctor, knowing it was a relationship that could go nowhere
OTOH now THAT would have been a great romance plot, quizzy romances him, he falls in love and breaks the hold of Bianca over him.
In any case, it's a two way street, and he needs to break it off with her and move on and tell her not to come around anymore

When you have Laura Bailey for a voice actress, you can say or do anything. And no one will care because Laura Bailey.
This. The character may not have been most impressive, but I could listen to her all day...

I thought Bianca's family tried to uphold the castes on the surface? Meaning, in they 'technically' are casteless (if you asked Orzammar dwarves) - but they consider themselves Smith Caste?
Yes, that's that. And she prefered to obey her parents than loving Varric. Well that's a choice, if she wants. But what I don't like is that she lets him hoping. No, if she really had loved him once, she should have cut the links with him, and let him live his life.

honestly the whole bianca/varric thing really made my skin crawl
it seemed just so... like bianca was taking advantage of varric's adoration of her. she put his life in danger, then she has the gall to threaten my inquisitor? the one who's been watching varric's back? who's been kicking everyone's asses with him? wtf was with that
honestly i was quite disappointed that we couldn't take varric aside after she pissed off and tell him how unhealthy his relationship was. you could see how much it was hurting him, especially when bianca's betrayal is discovered. heck, bioware could have offered him as a love interest after that quest.
just... ugh, screw bianca. screw everything she stands for. she's emotionally manipulative and gross and just [disgusted noise]

You opened a door you made. Good job /intense sarcasm.
You dangle yourself in front of Varric and constantly break his heart, refusing to let him move on with someone better and healthier for him, AND, though I pray to the Maker it's not true, it's implied that she cheats on her husband, and I /detest cheaters/ above almost everything (reading about the magister who threw boiling water in her lover's face when she caught him cheating made me smile and applaud her). This means that not only is she the worst kind of person in my book, she's making Varric a terrible person. Cheating is never okay or the answer and I will not argue this point.
She's a whole huge part of the reason there's a bunch of poor bastards dead, dying, or turned into horrible mindless beasts, and she has the gall to threaten /me/? Honey, I am an elf two-handed warrior. Don't make me use you for batting practice.
She's worthless, awful, and I refuse to believe her shitty quest even happens. Oh yeah. I'm convinced it was a red lyrium nightmare (the mark flushes it so that the Inquisitor can't be infected) my Inquisitor had over losing Varric or something and if she ever steps foot near me again, I'm going to use her as dragon bait. I'll have Leliana send a message, "from Husband what's his name" to Varric regarding an unfortunate accident or something and no one will be any the wiser.

Underwhelming? You mean awful? Voice is annoying, character is annoying...

The worst part for me was how they said there's story reasons for why non-LIs are non-LI, so after we see in a promotional video Varric get flustered around Harding, I'm thinking we'll Joker/Edi them, and I'm looking forward to that.

Kira Carsen's VA though, that was a positive. Probably the only one.
Pretty sure she also does Jaina Proudmoore. But I like Kira way more.

Yeah I really disliked that you couldn't pick chaotic actions and responses. My Inquistor got dissed quite a few times and I had to sit there and put up with it or give weak responses.
This was one of my complaints in regards to Dragon Age 2 as well. No opportunity for Hawke to respond to slights or people taking shots his/her love interest. That crap got old real quick.

Judgement!
What she has caused is no different than a multitude of the previous people who the inquisitor cast his/her perspicacious judgement upon. I wan't to know why just because of her standing and special connection to Varric she should have been allowed to walk free. People died because of her actions.
Imagine the potential drama, and the potentially explosive and great story this could become. A judgement could literally allow us to kill her, to force her to join us, have her go back to her smith family and work for us more directly ect. ect.
Thoughts?

I'm perfectly okay with Bianca. I think they talk a little too much about her positive features, but she screws up plenty to help balance it out.

I dunno, I was impressed with her. Thought she was flat at first, did the whole "You're so impressively tall" thing, then she threatened to feed my qunari inquisitor her own eyeballs if Varric dies.
That's true love right there. That is true love.

Overall, I think they fit quite well.
She appears to be a quite normal person apart from being a genius inventor, and one who seems to genuinely care about Varric. It may not be a tale of star-crossed lovers to span the ages, but it seems something, if you'll forgive me, much more human. They aren't a match made in heaven - they are people who have loved and found that, ultimately, love doesn't conquer all; Other priorities were more important to at least one of them, such as averting a clan war. (And my guess would be on Bianca, if it was only one of them, as she seems the more level-headed of the two.)
Sure, one can argue that she screws up with the red Lyrium, but how much of that condemnation is because of what it led to rather than finding fault with her decisions?
Varric told her of red Lyrium and the Thaig, so being the inquisitive inventor-genius that she is, she decided to examine the interesting new material that had so affected Varric's brother Bartram. Her research showed that it was related to the blight, so she did what any sensible surfacer would do - got the Grey Wardens involved.
How was she to know that the warden she leaked the information to was somebody enslaved/ruled by a thousand year old mad magister with delusions of godhood?
And when she realizes the unanticipated negative consequences of her actions, she does what any good person would do - she tries to make amends as best she can.

If that is her way of showing how much she cares for Varric. Then she just send wrong message to my Inquisitor because I don't find it romantic at all, and I want to slap her in the face for that death threat, fix her problem and got it half done, not making amends for what she did, and NO she doesn't look badass when giving the Inquisitor death threat. I also feel like she just toying with Varric, and it's one of the worst thing she could have done.I dunno, I was impressed with her. Thought she was flat at first, did the whole "You're so impressively tall" thing, then she threatened to feed my qunari inquisitor her own eyeballs if Varric dies.
That's true love right there. That is true love.

The threat at the end ticked me off, but I didn't take it completely seriously... more like a passive aggressive joke? But yeah, Bianca was in the wrong and then she says that to me after what she's done? mmmmk. And I feel truly bad for Varric, what an unfulfilling 'relationship'. I feel he needs to move on, but it's his life. There's probably way more we have no clue about, as depressing as what we saw made it out to seem like.

Bianca seems real cool, and has a sweet chemistry with Varric, but I was underwhelmed by the "story" behind the relationship. Obviously we don't know the whole thing, but the way the basic gist of it was revealed to us was very anti-climactic after having hear him say it's "the one story I'll never tell". Don't know what I was expecting. Maybe something with a little more angst. Or razzle dazzle.
Chemistry that involves childish bickering? Not really my idea of 'sweet'
But youre right about the 'story' behind it. It was incredibly weak and for me, the snippets we did get really did make think to highly of her at all. I wanted to like her (and I'm not a Varricmancer he's my bro) but with what they gave me, just didn't work.
In addition - the threat she gives you about looking after Varric or else - oh no you didn't just say that to me girl - I've just helped your sorry ass and I'm the mofo inquisitor, I damn well look after all the people I'm responsible for.

I was actually looking forward to see the relationship between Varric and Bianca but after the personal quest, I'm kinda just over them. I just didn't feel the chemistry between the two and that let me down. I was just.. uh.. expecting more, I guess? Bianca as a character doesn't appeal to me at all. They tried to make her this bad ass woman, but I just ended up hating her and her guts. Like wtf, after all the trouble you've caused, you can't just come to my face with death threats. Not cool.
I think it's time for Varric to let her go instead of chasing after her ass. I just don't see this thing working between the two of them.
