he reminds my of merlin when he become old with the potion maybe is him, bah i never understand the reason of this character, i mean he is just crazy and living in that forest without a purpose.

Just looking at that screenshot is making me laugh!

 

I thought he lived in a tent until a recent playthrough, when I started rummaging around in a hole under a stump. He really is nuts!

I feel terrible... I got Gayna and Cammen together and got the book from him. I got the scarf from Danyla. BUT I had a game-glitch somewhere in the forest and lost half my inventory, including the song book. So all I had to trade for the acorn was the scarf. I went back hoping to get the scarf back, but when killing the mad hermit, he did not have it. So, we killed him for nothing

I found myself wandering the Brecilian forest again recently doing clean-up of unfinished quests before the Landsmeet. And I just stood there and watched the Mad Hermit’s antics for, like, two straight minutes. He is undoubtedly the highlight of the entire Dalish/Werewolf questline.

I actually just did the Brecilian forest today, and yep, killed him. To be honest, mostly because its easier this way lol. My wardens a nice dude, but not a fan of the forest. Or werewolves. Or questions....
