Haha. First the thread starts - Ohmagerd there is no Alistair/Morrigan kiss kiss, slap slap, stab stab.

Then David Gaider, the main writer of the series comes down here to say - there is! You just need to do that do this and its there.

Then for 1 second all goes - Whooooaaaa! That is so cool.

Then for the rest of time its - Ohmagerd Bioware sucks! This is so haaaard to trigger, should be there with the click of a button in the war table....

Pff.. Arrow in the face BSN. Pish!

lol, I am going to start another playthrough with a new world state to trigger that.

I must go get that "Whoaaaa! That is so cool" moment David mentioned.

I guess it is because in my old world state, my warden romanced Morrigan and went through the Eluvian with her,

hence the almost non-existent interaction between her and Leliana.

Sad, I always thought that was canon... therefore would grant me more interactions down the road...

I actually felt that Leliana's attitude towards Morrigan varied wildly at times. Yes she was wary and hostile, they were never bosom companions in DAO so that's not terribly surprising. But, Leliana goes from outright hostile/suspicious ("She is dangerous and capable of anything") to sounding super concerned when Kieran goes through the mirror ("I've never seen Morrigan like this, you must help her!") And she does sound almost fond of Morrigan at the war table. I do find it odd that Morrigan doesn't comment on Leliana's involvement in the Inquisition however. (And part of me wonders if Alistair was the baby daddy what she might say if he gets left behind in the Fade. I'm going to leave behind Loghain and it's OGB Mac Tir in this play through so perhaps it'll be similar haha.)

I wonder if there was some cut content there that we're missing, though, that sort of bridged these differing opinions...

Is that not in there? If you go and get Morrigan and then begin the plot with the Grey Wardens, there is a period where Alistair or Loghain is potentially at Skyhold at the same time as her -- and there is a scene between the two of them if you go and speak to Morrigan. Might only be if they were involved in the Dark Ritual, I don't actually recall, but I don't think so.

This....... never triggered for me, she mentions Loghain but that's all, he doesn't even acknowledge her.

I totally agree with these points. In Wicked Hearts Leliana generally sounds more dangerous and sinister but she goes as far as to imply that Morrigan might be mind controlling the leaders of an Empire. And later she is super concearned for her. It's really weird.

And this scene with Kieran's father seems to be very dodgy. I had Loghain (who performed the Dark Ritual) in Skyhold and then went to get Morrigan.

They don't acknowledge each other at all.

I did do the mission where Loghain and Hawke meet you in the desert, before getting Morrigan though (and had talked with Loghain about everything he had something to say about. Now he only goes "Yes? Good bye."). Unless there will be a scene after Adamant, I probably missed a trigger point?

Seems strange though imho, that there'd only be one specific moment to trigger that scene, when they are both in Skyhold for quite some time. I'm hoping for a bug here, that prevents the trigger from triggering ;D (we do have a banter bug, after all)

-------------------------snip-----------------------------

After Adamant if Alistair/Loghain fathered Kieran and was left behind in the Fade, she'll just look sad, and talk about how they traveled together a decade ago, that's literally it. But with what Gaider is saying well I'm curious about whether or not there is bugged or cut content, where Morrigan and the father of her child share a scene.

So do Morrigan and the Warden only have a chance to meet if you leave Hawke in the Fade? I guess I'm confused as to when the Warden actually comes to Skyhold.

No, the Warden and Hawke fulfill the same role and goto Weisshaupt.

Well, I finally got a save state in which I finished Hearts before even starting Abyss. Morrigan had been in the keep for a while before I even met Hawke. I didn't speak to Morrigan, so I didn't trigger any of her dialog. Now Loghain is in the fort, too, and ... nothing. They do not mention each other. So that doesn't work. I'm not sure what else to try.

Someone digging through the games files found dialogue between Alistair and Morrigan regarding Kieran, their son. It was only 5 or 6 lines, but I'm sure we would have appreciated the scene making the cut. . .

I am glad that Bioware brought back the fan favorites from DA:O.

Yet sadly, the amount of interaction between the two was really minimal.

In fact, Leliana was uncharacteristically hostile towards Morrigan.

And Morrigan doesn't seem to even notice Leliana.

Those two didn't particularly like one another in DA:O. It was bit like Morrigan and Alistair. So Leliana being a bit cold towards Morrigan is to be expected really. I'd say that was in character.

On their best days I think they just tolerate each other. I don't think they ever become friends.

If you romanced Leliana and then had the warden do the DR with Morrigan, she's actually really grateful that Morrigan saved her love's life.

She doesn't say that to Morrigan ofcourse, but she does tell the Inquisitor.

They don't seem especially hostile if there's not a romance conflict going on.  And what hostility there is is pretty much standard Morrigan hostility that's directed at everyone.  Leliana still wants to go shopping with her.

Can I get a big, fat, YES or NO on whether that Alistair/Morrigan scene exists??

I think it's because the trigger difficulty seems to be caused from game mechanics, not story. You have to do these things this way in this order for them to acknowledge each other. Why couldn't the scene trigger while they're in the castle at the same time? From a story standpoint, it doesn't seem that logical.

It exists, I've seen the dialogue from the game files, just haven't seen it in the game.

How are you looking directly at the dialog in the game files?

Data converter tool or something. There's a youtube user called Danaduchy that makes videos with Dragon Age stuff, a lot of it cut content found in the files, like Elthina's lines about Cassandra meeting Hawke in Dragon Age 2.

You know, you would think Bioware would have something extra if you happen to have Morrigan, Alistair, and Leiliana all at Skyhold at the same time. Doesn't make sense that the three wouldn't acknowledge each other at all. Obviously they weren't all friends (well, neither was friends with Morrigan anyway), but they did travel together for months.

Well, with my choices, there *really* should have been an awkward scene with Morrigan, Alistair and Kieran, lol. I'm sure he'd have been pleased to see that the kid sidn't have fangs and a tail. ;)

Or maybe Leiana is just conflicted about Morrigan.   She has the potential to be a difficult friend, lol.

Sorry, I haven't seen the original file personally.

Here you go, second post.

It would have been really, really strange if Morrigan and Leliana had any interaction. In my imported world state, they had never met.

I don't get the problem. Morrigan, Alistair, Lelianna, Cullen, Hawke and even Merrill and Fenris all have this huge celebration in the main hall, dringing booze and talking about the good old times, some are making out, Alistair is finally at peace with morrigan, Lelianna even hands her a pair of new absolutely stunning shoes! And the best, even the Hero of Ferelden suddenly pops in! Oh the fun they all had ...

Too bad the Inquisitor once more is on the glorious mission to gather even more elf root for the Just Cause ^^ Better stay at home next time or you miss out all the fun!
