With the Escapist magazine and Gamespot still yet to deliver their Reader's Choice awards, the situation is as follows. Inquisition has won 2 Reader's Choice GOTY awards, Mordor has won zero.

Overall, Inquisition has now picked up 21 GOTY awards.

It deserves it IMO. It's one of my favourite Bioware games. I honestly think it's like Bioware's BG1. In a lot of ways. But especially in how the potential is there for the sequel to be BG2.

Even with the pain of the game locking up my system and the bugs, I enjoyed it a great deal - enough to vote for it as GotY since I haven't played anything even remotely close to it in terms of overall quality. Sure, it has some issues - it was also very good despite those issues. I wouldn't have 150-plus hours in it if I didn't love it.

Let's us all do our part and help DAI to win as many GOTY award as possible! Granted I never play some of the nominees and I heard some of them are really good (e.g. Dark Souls and Bayonetta) but this is my fav game of the year (well, 2nd fav, fav is Last of Us: Remastered).

DAI has already won GOTY and RPG OTY @thegameawards! Let's hope it wins both. And let's do our part for DAI in those Reader's Choice Awards!

Yeah, a "bug-free" experience has obviously been a major criteria for past winners...

I remember the huge controversy when Skyrim got 0 GOTY awards because it was eventually unplayable on PS3 and was otherwise a buggy mess.

Wait. Hmm...

That's phenomenal. The more I play the game the more I love it.

Also, now we can shut people up who say all the other GOTY are frauds because EA bribed the editors. :P

I'm sure they'll think of another reason why all GOTY awards are invalid except for the ones that games they like won :D .

The amount of babies in this thread "trying" to bring the game down because they don't like a few small aspects in unbelievable. I came into DA:I expecting the worst after playing DA2, yet here I am 110 hours later completely satisfied. For those whining nonstop about pc's"bad port", IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. This is embaressing to all pc gamers.

If it's that bad play it on a gamepad. Don't have one? Buy one or borrow it from a friend. They probably did design it with consoles in mind, and often that doesn't translate so well over to mouse and keyboard. Not because Bioware is lazy like some of the most ingrateful and entitled on this thread claims. Let me tell you there is no perfect game in the world. Even the "holy grail" of gaming Skyrim (Some are comparing these two) has many flaws. Someone even had the nerve to equate open world to being Skyrim. Unless you were born in 2012, nobody with half a proper brain would ever say something like that. The only thing Skyrim has going for it is the exploration. With over 300 hours clocked in, I've realized it's the same caves, dungeons, and monsters, just higher level with higher tiered loot. Hell the final boss Alduin is the same as any other dragon. Yet it is still one of the most revered games out there. The crashes are frequent too, something I've never experienced so far with DA:I.

The fetch quests for DA:i. They're only bad if you go out of your way to do every single one, and expect it to be as exciting as the main story line.

I'm glad it won GOTY. If you say that some other game should've won it then that is just your preference. The public has spoken otherwise.

Dragon Age Inquisition is into the finals of the Escapist "Reader's Choice" contest. Make sure to vote everyone.

At the moment Inquisition has won 4 Reader's Choice GOTY awards and 27 Editors GOTY awards to bring the total up to 31. It's been a long time since Bioware has received so many titles, ME3 only received a couple, Origins only received... 1 I think.

I think you have to go back to KoTOR to really see a game pull this much swag.

Congrats, BioWare devs! So much love and effort went into DAI. I'm glad you guys are pulling in the awards. They are so well-deserved.

This is amazing :D . Fingers crossed it will also sell like hot cakes. (I helped by buying two copies as Christmas presents. I was tempted to just buy it for everyone I know, but I think my mother is too addicted to FreeCell to ever switch to Dragon Age.)

I'm not going to disagree with anybody about DAI being GOTY, DAI is a really good game. Although for me personally I think Dark Souls II is GOTY with Inquisition being very close behind.

I'll deal with that statement by saying Inquisition has now picked up more READER'S CHOICE GOTY AWARDS than any other game. It just picked up its 5th, taking their overall tally to 41.

Skyrim got 226. Maybe it is the most awarded game of this year, don't really follow that, but not of all times to be sure. Anyway popular != good. To me DA:I will remain Nicki Minaj/Justin Bieber of games. I'd rate even some small indie games of this year like Banner Saga much much higher. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course.

Anyway, good for BW I guess, as making money is the main goal of any business. Bad for me, since I liked the franchise before this game. But given the positive reception they'll probably continue to evolve it in the same direction.
