Skyrim got 226. Maybe it is the most awarded game of this year, don't really follow that, but not of all times to be sure.
The "this year" is heavily implied considering games released in different years don't compete with each other.
Anyway popular != good. To me DA:I will remain Nicki Minaj/Justin Bieber of games. I'd rate even some small indie games of this year like Banner Saga much much higher. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course.
Indeed. However the fact it's rated so highly by such a high portion of the public discredits the argument that it's only getting good reviews because pro reviews are corrupt.

and already the trolls are taking to the comments section of the video.
I'm actually impressed by the haters. I think it takes a special kind of crazy to dedicate yourself so much to hating on something so pointless.

Angry Joe is not known as a Internet Retard for nothing.
So since he does not agree with the haters of DAI that makes him the Internet Retard?

Sure. He was a genius when he didn't like ME3. Now... not so much.

They also won the editor's award:
EDIT: Customary update - 47 Editor's GOTY awards + 8 Reader's Choice GOTY awards = 55 GOTY awards total so far.
That's phenomenal. I'm really happy to see all the swag it's pulling in. Hopefully this leads EA to double down on DA4 with even more investment so Bioware fan fine tune the issues that still affect DAI and have the cut cool content like we saw in the alpha vertical slices.

I agree with this. DA:I is an amazing game with so much support from players (maybe not so much this forum) and deserves the accolades they are accumulating. I'm hoping EA has the dollar signs in their eyes and will pour more resources into DA4.
Perhaps with some time passing, the Frostbite 3 engine will be beefed up to handle more RPG material. Maybe then we will have a fully fleshed Dragon Age experience!

It's obvious (to me) that Bioware struggled with getting FB3 to work as an RPG engine which required them to have a more modest vision as a result.
I honestly think DAI is their BG1. It has all the hard work in the engine etc. to allow then to spend another 3 years focusing on making an all-time great for DA4 like BG2 from BG1.

Seems like all the haters congregated here for DAI. People who disliked the game are in the extreme minority most everywhere else.

I'll agree with you on the FB3 engine. They had to create a lot of things that literally did not exist in FB3 beforehand. I never played the BG games, so I'll take your word for it on those.

Inquisition is Hardcore Gamer's GOTY. Runners Up were Shovel Knight, Dark Souls 2, Middle Earth, and COD Advanced Warfare.
In other news Middle Earth has FINALLY picked up it's first Reader's Choice GOTY award, in comparison Inquisition now has 11 Reader's Choice GOTY awards (and 78 total.)

The title "Game of the Year" means very little to me and I will never understand why people get so excited over stuff like this.

Means little to me either, but to those in the industry of making games, it may have value to them. Thus, I am happy for Bioware and others that were involved in crafting this game, as well as those that helped get them here (eg; both Doctors, CP, Stan Woo, and other past members of the team). Congrats to all!

Because it is something easy to latch onto. It's why top lists are always popular, it's short, to the point, and sums up a whole experience in ten seconds.
If it's done well, when most of the time it isn't. I have done GOTY lists in the past, and most of the time I rank them like everyone else, which is fine.
But I don't take it seriously. It's all personal in the end. Readers shouldn't either, the problem is many do.
