So I've just started up my Dwarf Warrior, planning to run a Weapon & Shield Templar.

I have a theoretical build in mind, but I need to hear some feedback from those who are a bit ahead of me as far as gameplay goes. Without spoiling any plot elements, I would like some critique, comments and recommendations regarding the following potential set-up:

Spoiler

Is that a reasonable point assumption for the level I'll be operating near endgame? Should I cut any abilities? Consider any alternatives? I'm playing on Hard Mode, if it's of any relevance. Please, let me know what you think and share any similar builds that you've been running, so that myself and any others who may be interested can compare notes.

You'll be fine.  think spell purge detonates wrath of heaven.

remove blessed blades and take wrath of heaven, its you best cc for cross class combo (its aoe, the best stun so far), you can detonate yourself with spell purge, or, take solas for a better and harder aoe detonation!. also, blessed blades is redundant if you take horn of valor, plus, you will have to remove another extra active ability if u want to use focus ability, i will recomend you to take out combat roll, since you will be the tank and there is no need to use an escape ability (for gap closer you already have grapling chain). It will be like this:

Weapon & Shield: 5
Shield Wall+
Bear Mauls the Wolves
Shield Bash+

Battlemaster: 5
Grappling Chain
Crippling Blows
Coup de Grace
Horn of Valor+

Vanguard: 4
War Cry+
Untouchable Defense
It'll Cost You

Templar: 7
Spell Purge+
Blessed blades (no upgrade, just for pasive abilities)
Maker's Will
There Is No Darkness
wrath of heaven+

Take the rest of point for pasives, the ones in s&s are the best suited for you.

Alright, I definitely like this alternative. The Combat Roll was more an idea I was flirting with, thinking that the ability to "roll out" of some status effects could be beneficial. Thank you for the feedback!

can someone clarify if blessed blades works against any enemy and does extr damge to demons or just works against demons?

plus, do passives from two templars (inquisitor and casandra) stack?

I haven't gotten to the point where I'm able to experiment and do the math, but as soon as I do I will be posting an answer here. I'm also interested.

On another note. Super disappointed that the passive (Mage Slayer) which expands the demon-based effects to include mages and other magical creatures is ONLY an ability in the multiplayer.

It works like this: when you cast blessed blades you create a circle on the ground. Everyone in your party gets +15% damage off the cuff (to everything), but if you also stand inside that circle you get the Maker's Wrath bonus of +10% damage to demons as well. However, it's pretty buggy I've noticed, and sometimes you don't get the bonus even if you stand inside the circle.

Also, it doesn't seem that Spell Purge detonates the stun effect from Wrath of Heaven. Not sure if that's intended or not.
