I think it would be awesome to release a DLC that lets you add Hawke to the party. They can join your party during the Adamant assault (must have Hakwe in party) and can be a full-time companion afterwards (depending on your choices of course).
All the background information would be provided by Dragon Age Keep and it would be pretty cool because you can pick Hawkes class to fill you needs. Also maybe make them romancible depending on your choices in DA:2.
I think it would be the coolest thing to be able have a character that you played in the previous game to be a full-time companion. I for one, would remake just to have Hawke in my party
