What are the recommended powers to get when making items? Eg I can guess that extra damage when flanking is useless for a bow, but other than that, what powers should I aim for?

Edit: looking for suggestions on non-masterwork materials as well as masterwork.

The most beneficial ability I've been able to craft onto an item thus far (I'm not terribly far in), has been the "Adds Guard on Hit" effect. Been a tremendous addition to my Warrior's considerable Guard, and I imagine could add an interesting defensive dynamic for DW Rogues.

Best one for a rogue is hidden blades, which is a obvious choice (both for bow and daggers).

But the one that is really underestimated imo, is the + maximum stamina. As a rogue, resource is always scarce. Only +10 max sta gives a noticable increase in combo-potency and combat fluidity.

+50 Stamina on Kill is a nice one aswell. Reaver-train anyone?

The chain lightning one is great for mages because it applies shock like the actual spell, which lowers enemy resistance to elemental damage by 20% for the next 8 seconds. I prefer to use the %chance to masterwork items on my weapons, because it will increase the damage of all spells and abilities since it increases weapon damage. My preferred set up is 10% chance at chain lightning on my armor, and % chance at masterwork on items. I use the + guard for my dragon slaying armors though.

If my mage uses fire magic, their armor has + chance for immolate at 100 weapon power (Varghest scales), if they are a lightning mage, + chance for chain lightning at 100% weapon power(Silverite).

I like the 5% chance to cast mind blast on a warrior or dual rogue, has a chance to stun some enemies.. I also use the chain lightning on my warriors weapons.. funny fighting in a small area and having random lightning waves going off all over the place decimating everyone.. good fun.

But yeah, when fighting dragons, both armor and weapon have guard on hit. Obsidian i found more of compared to silverite.

I have also yet to determine if the masterwork bonus is effected by talents.. thus why I use fire on a fire mage or lightning on a lightning mage.

I've found to my surprise that I really like +3 guard on hit for my Rift Mage Inquisitor. Since I'm nuking the hell out of anything that moves, in large battles it isn't unusual for some monsters to take a swing or shot at me in the few remaining seconds of their miserable lives, and nobody makes as many hits per second as a Rift Mage, who frequently spams Energy Barrage.

Thanks everyone. I notice these are all masterwork selections though; any ideas on the non-masterwork stuff? Eg is +Cunning better than +Dex is better than bleed on hit, that sort of thing.
