Can you link where they said There weren't sure on doing a sequel? I'm pretty sure Bioware stated that they had ideas for at least 2 more games in the dragon age series. Also I believe the flemeth and solas situation will most likely be solved in da4. Its just too big for a DLC. We will most likely just end up going to nevara to settle a dispute or maybe anders or something similar to that. There is no way bioware would put us in the black city with a DLC. That city has been hyped up for 3 games now and if we ever are allowed to visit it, it will happen as a main story mission in the next da game.(which is happening in tevinter so I'm super excited)I suspect the Solas/Flemmeth storyline will likely be resolved by a DLC rather then a full blown sequel. If you see what has been said by Bioware, they are still not sure about another sequel but have confirmed at least two DLC.
I suspect one DLC will focus on the Solas/Flemmeth situation. Especially given I think Verrick says at one point that "friends make the worst enemies". Solas is either possessed by Mythal or else drained her power to make himself stronger.
The Elves were shown as broken and defeated. When exploring places there seemed to be a lot of questions left about the elvin people. I suspect what will happen is that Solas will make an attempt to become a god so he can restore the people to their rightful place and allow them to be immortal again.
We spent a LOT of time in Inquisition talking about the Golden/Black city yet never really got to see it. We also didnt go into the fade more then once. I can see a story about Solas finally taking us there.
I think a second one could focus on what has happened with the Grey Wardens and their fortress in Weisshaupt will be the scene of another DLC. I suspect this would be a slightly smaller DLC then the one involving Solas. So I anticipate Weisshaupt being the first DLC followed by Solas(Dread Wolf).
I strongly suspect the next game will be in Tevinter, if you noticed doing operations you had the oppertunity to make a LOT of decisions which would affect Tevinter. I believe it will be a new character, in Tevinter, affected by what the Inquisition has done. In fact the rise of the Inquisition would create a LOT of fear in Tevinter. They would look south a fear another Exalted March. Plus they have an ongoing conflict with the Quinari. Add to that that they had a lot of high profile Magisters side with a crazy would be god. Their religious beliefs may be undermined, and there is clearly a desire for a return to power among many in Tevinter. All of this creates an oppertunity for a truly epic game that would include a lot of the elements from Inquisition, like politics, strategy, controlling a larger movement. Dorian talked about starting a reform movement in Tevinter, and its very possible you could end up leading such a movement, to seize control over the Tevinter Imperium.
The Inquisitor still will be the next main character in the next Dragon Age Game.

I have a hard time thinking that we would see our Inquisitors roll over as lead into a second major game in the franchise? Expansion, perhaps. DLC for certain, but no ..... we will see another character next time at bat. This works for me!
No matter how much I've enjoyed the adventures of the Warden, and Hawke and the Inquisitor.

But in my opinion there will be in DA5 where you have all of thedas and I think that it will end the same way that it began with origins, a big blight with the remaining two archdemons.

This thread is just the beginning of the whining that will occur when DA:Next is released.
It's better now to abandon any hope of any good part of DAI to return. When DA:Next is released, you will be free of expectation, and thereby, disappointment.
That way, whatever features or characters DO return, will be a surprise and make you happier about the games flaws.
Of all the things I've seen in regards to what people want out of DA:Next (and there's a thread for that), I think a returning Inquisitor is the least reasonable. Not because it would be difficult in any sense. Heck, it would have been easy to have a silent HOF go to the Free Marches instead of inventing Hawke.
I think they don't want to limit themselves in terms of storytelling when it comes to creating a new game. The characters/decisions from past games can always be added in to add flavor to any story, but I think they want each game to stand on it's own, without having a history with the game be a prerequisite to playing it.
The funny thing about this is: I drew this conclusion based off of something said about ME3. Which is odd, considering the ME series was developed around a central character. I think it was Mike Laidlaw who said, prerelease ME3, "Play the game without importing first, to see the interesting default world state we've crafted, and the character of Commander Shepard, then import for your second playthrough". Though, not in those exact words.
It gave me the impression that they didn't want us to have "our hero", but their hero with us in control.
The illusion of choice vs. ACTUAL choices.

I would be very happy if the next game gave us actually a choice whether we want the HoF, Hawke, or the Inquisitor as the main hero. This would be so great, but I suspect too much work / too complex game design.
