Solas is buzzing about all the court stuff (to the point where he forgets to watch what he says and almost outs himself) so yes he wants to dance.  Sera will dance if you ask her.

But you don't actually see the dancing, yeah?

Cause on my playthroughs... she goes up to you, asks if you're okay, it's no fun without Inky, etc then you get the option of asking her to dance, she gets all nervous about it (as I recall) then for about a second you see Inky reach out to her, implying that they're gonna dance... then it just fades out?

Yeah, the most you get is a bit of movement before the fade out. I wish that it was a proper dance scene. Heck you get a full dance scene WITH dialogue with the person you can probably just knife right there in front of everyone.

Speaking of which, it's one of those instances where I wish that Sera's doodles were actually doodles and not descriptions.

I wish there was that option... ;) although, you could do it later so all it took was a little patience.

Actually I liked the initial reaction, and saving the dance for the end. It could've used a bit more, but overall I still found most everything in that quest pretty satisfying...except for the motherf**king hallas.

I feel left out. I asked Cassie to dance with me and she said no. I had romanced her in the garden already too. Jossie came out and danced with me

I did so hope for a full dance with more conversation at the end.

I don't suppose Dorian will dance with a female BFF inquisitor? That would be awesome. "I know I don't, and you know I don't, but we both love this flirtation thing we have going plus Mother Ghiselle will have another heart attack, so let's dance!"

I felt the same way. The character interaction in this quest really failed to meet my expectations.
I was shocked when the cutscene faded to black a couple of steps into the dance scene.
Although the cutscene was sweet, it hardly seemed worth the effort of dealing with the nobles.
(That's not quite true...the romance cutscenes are worth quite a bit. I'm just feeling a little jipped after the build-up.)

I wonder how the dance goes with a dwarf Inquisitor, particularly in terms of animations. Those haven't been consistent between the different races.

LOL how would one dance without f*cking I don't even

(On a more serious note, recent studies show 10/10 Diebs reportedly would dance with Sera with no hidden agenda, too)

Cullen danced with my Inquisitor. If you don't get a dance and are in a romance with one of them, you probably didn't ask for one when you were mingling at the ball.

I do not understand why you have to be in a romance already to ask them to dance... it is a ball after all.

It may not appeal or occur to them. Cullen makes a comment about how templars don't go to balls. It's kind of insinuated that the reason why he asks you is because you essentially told him you want to dance with him, otherwise it wouldn't cross his mind.

I once reloaded from the start of WEWH and skipped the option to ask Blackwall for a dance to see if Josephine would come out instead. Blackwall still came out and offered a dance, for what that's worth.

Well, the whole assassination attempt might be considered distracting. Particuarly if it succeeded or someone got executed

The dance always feels a bit odd to me. It's just not a romantic situation.

you can get the dance scene with cassandra before officially kicking off her romance iirc, but you have to flirt with her and only her, one other person breaks it.

I have thought that asking to dance would be a nice flirting line, even if noone of them accepted it because of their own reasons. Good to know some of them doesn't need to be in a romance to ask though.

Every romance gets the dance scene. For Cassandra specifically, you have to ask her to dance when you first arrive in order to get the option to ask her at the end.

I had been romancing Cass and asked her at the beginning to dance, to which she refused. Every time I talked with Cass and had the chance to pick a flirt option I did. And I've completed all the quests you can do for her at that point in the game (guilty pleasures and unfinished business) yet at the end she still didn't come out. Is this a bug maybe? As far as I know we were romancing each other but after this I'm a little confused

I hate the outfit that the Inquisitor wore in this mission. It was like a Buckingham palace guard and an RCMP officer had a son, and that son was this outfit that I had to wear to a party where everyone was wearing luxurious robes and dresses. Vivienne looked the weirdest out of all my co in that outfit.

Anyway, I never start this quest until I initiate a romance with my chosen LI. I have seen Josie, Cass, and Cullen in my game. I think Solas and Blackwall have their own dances too but I never romanced them so I can't confirm.

I also hate that outfit.  You look like a hotel doorman.

You can dance will all love interests...I have lots of freetime.

Sera and the F/Inquisitor have the shortest dance...or it felt the shortest you seem to get a quicker fade to black...too bad, I thought they made the cutest couple.

Josie seems to be the default if you have ever flirted with her.

I think the main criteria for getting dance are:

Your romance has to be at the ball: Whilst subsequent conversations suggest that non-party members were hanging out there somewhere, they don't come forward to dance.   I made the mistake of leaving out Solas first run even though I was romancing him, thinking it wouldn't be his scene.   Then I discover he loved it all and (from the forums) he would have danced with me.    I didn't get any dance, although Josephine came out to talk with me.

You have to have got far enough along in your romance: If you haven't had the balcony scene with Solas, when he asks if the Anchor has changed you, or you haven't had your little tryst in the mountain glade with Cassandra, then they probably won't dance even if in your party.   You have to take heart icons with Solas when offered or you will end up being considered not in a romance.

You have to approach your LI at the ball and ask them for a dance: They will decline at the time but then come out to you at the end.   So far as I am aware, none of these dance opportunities takes place anywhere other than the balcony.    The only one on the dance floor itself is Florianne.

I've only chosen heart options with Cass and never with Josie. The only thing I can think of that hurt the relationship is I chose a neutral side when her and Varric were arguing, but after that convo there were still a few heart options I picked. On my first playthrough I hadn't had the grove scene yet she still came out
