I didn't like Miranda at first because she wanted to put a control chip in my Shepard's brain. o_o; When she said the Illusive Man wouldn't let her do it, Shepard's response was exactly what I was thinking - "I'm glad he's in charge." Then I started to like her more after the loyalty mission, but she got into a fight with Jack directly after (because I did the missions out of order, so Jack's was completed a while ago) and I lost her loyalty when I didn't side with her. xD She was loyal for all of two minutes.

Right, back on topic. My Shepard's response to that Garrus image since she won't see it in-game because I never download anything...

Shepard: *stares* ...Wait, what? Sorry, I lost my concentration. >///>;
Illusive Man: *facepalm* Shepard, pay attention! ...To the mission, not Garrus!
Shepard: If I had ten credits for every time someone told me that, I'd be able to buy everything on the Citadel. :D

I agree, Miranda's sudden change of heart at the end seemed OOC. At the time it made me think i wasn't paying enough attention to previous dialogue interactions. I do have to admit, however that i found myself liking her more after she told TIM off.
I had Garrus and her in my final team, because it seemed oddly right. Miranda being the one who brought you back from the dead and Garrus who was my LI.

Yay for random Garrus butt shot. Awwwww yeah. *cat calls* :D

It doesn't seem very OOC if you take other opportunities to push her on Cerberus. (Some of which, unfortunately, you only get by romancing her.) If you take her on Jack's loyalty mission, for example, she's appropriately horrified on what went on there--but she still rationalizes it's not 'really' Cerberus.

Part of her character arc is that she's coming into her own personhood; her father and Cerberus regard her as valuable mainly for her abilities, and she's grateful to Cerberus essentially because she feels like she can flex her intellectual muscle and use her abilities to maximum use. Shepard helps convince her that she doesn't really need Cerberus to do that, and after seeing TiM argue for keeping the Collector Base, she finally realizes she's in with some Pretty Bad People, and her rationalizations no longer suffice.

I do, however, feel pretty railroaded I can't get her (or anyone else's) reaction to TiM's set-up on the Collector Ship.

What about her sister, though? Literally, earning her loyalty is saving her sister. Betraying TIM just puts Oriana into another ruthless madman's hands (and with the rage Paragon Shep leaves him with at the end of the game, I highly doubt he's going to be all honorable about it).

hmmm you know, good point. I think i will go after her as my LI, when i play as MANshep and take her everywhere with me to see the changes. Because, as i said before, i found myself liking her in the end. :)

DLC or ME3 ;)

My personal feeling is that it's sort of important that Miranda makes a stand on principle, here. Her loyalty mission is about showing that she's capable of compassion for someone other then herself, and the Collector Base decision is about showing she cares about more then just her sister.

Maybe she had a back-up plan in case things went south with Cerberus. Maybe she considered that having saved Oriana from her father, she could just do it again from TiM. Maybe it's a decision she'll regret.

But more on topic:

Yeah, it's a pity certain characters get shortchanged if you don't romance them. On the one hand, you SHOULD get a special sense of intimacy and "extra" from doing so. On the other hand, some character arcs feel kind of truncated without the romance. (Though all that callibrating paid off in the final battle when the Normandy completely wrecked the Collector Ship, so maybe Garrus's work paid off.)

(And when Miranda says "Cerberus should've hired you", you can totally take the "But Cerberus is evil" option without derailing the romance.)

(about Miranda, interesting, i will certainly say that line during the romance! :D)

*laughs* Yeah after all the calibration crap from Garrus, and then the collector ship asploded, i didn't feel so sore that Garrus ignored me for almost 3 missions.
I wish while you are romancing Garrus, after getting into the collector base, you could make a snide remark to Garrus about "the good job he did on the calibrations" Which of course, could be taken in alot of different ways. :D

...too bad Shepard can't run off with Garrus and be space pirates with Jack.

Yeah, but if they did that, they wouldn't be Shepard and Garrus. They'd be someone else, no less fun, but not themselves.

I'm actually really attracted to the notion of people who find each other because of their devotion to duty and honor.  Of course, if Papa Vakarian is a total d!ck about things, Garrus's devotion to familial duty and honor could make things sticky. It's proven a soft spot for him in the past.

I can't imagine Papa Vakarian is very happy with Garrus now.

I thought that would be fun at first, but then I thought about what it would entail.

...But if we were vigilante pirates, only going after merc shipments or pirates, I would be all over that option.

Oh that would be joyous B) Taking out 3 mercenary groups on a galactic scale would be awesome. Whats the space version of that damn bridge?

A mass relay would work. (There's a codex entry that talks a lot about it, but it's still a chokepoint.)

Somehow, I imagine Papa Vakarian being a bit of a tightass, but also that awesome dad that your friends like, but the son/daughter doesn't.

Everybody likes close-up shots of Garrus' eyes.

I especially like the "his" and "hers" scanners.

...Garrus did have very nice eyes, comparatively.

Oh god, I know the Ashley fans would hate me, but has anyone seen Ash's sequence on Horizon and paid really close attention to her eyes?  She pulls a few 'herpderp' moments which totally ruin the sequence, now that I see them. XD[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/include/fckeditor/editor/images/spacer.gif[/smilie]

Gah! Don't tell me that. Now I'm going to be looking for it next time I go to Horizon, and it'll ruin the whole scene for me!:lol:

you mean you never noticed? Omg!!! I laughed so hard when I saw it right away... like this

I would love that comment to somehow be included in ME3. I could see the Turian councilor saying something like that if you take Garrus to a meeting with the Council. . . . Possibly for Garrus to be inducted as a Spectre, yeah?

Woah! That is impressive! That must have taken some finangling.

Of course, now thanks to Azn, all I can hear Garrus saying is how he's going to "plow Shephard like fresh snow." *headdesk*

Anyway, when you're staring at the best turian in the galaxy, it's hard not to be amused somehow.
