@ Tootles

YES YES YES YES YES a thousand times yes. JOKER WTF. I was dumbfounded when I ran into him after being revived, I kept making that "....AND?" face at my TV. I died to save you, dude. A little acknowledgment wouldn't kill you, would it?

...It didn't help that I was pretty tired of him from the first game. But then EDI came into the equation and he became awesomesauce, and all was forgiven.

I think our opinions are so different partly because we all have different ideas of what or whatnot FemShep would do. My FemShep would have no problem telling Garrus her feelings, but would be more prone to teasing him into making the confession first. I'd really like to see in ME3 a progression from an Awkard!Garrus into a more relaxed, comfortable relationship where they could both freely and openly throw out the L-word, chamber a round, and jump into a firefight like the badasses they are.

Seconding this so hard. All of it. I love awkward Garrus, but he has GOT to become a bit more comfortable and honest around Shepard eventually or their relationship is going to go nowhere fast.

There has to be someway to make Garrus more confidant. Maybe he just needs to pull a "Fred Flintstone," get hit on the head with a bowling ball, draw a pencil mustache on his lip and become an instant Casanova.Voila! Now you have Sir Reginald Garrus the IVth, intergalactic playboy.

This would be completely out of character for him, but I'd like to hear him brag to everyone else that he's "hittin dat." Not in a chauvinistic way, of course, just...proud to have the most bad ass woman on his arm, you know?

This probably stems from my deep desire to just rub it in Alenko's face. A quip about it from Garrus to Kaidan just seems far too cruel, though. "Like fresh snow, Kaidan. Fresh. Snow."

...hot and sexy shirtless-for-science fight ensues.

Everytime you say that, EVERY TIME, I can imagine it so vividly being said by him, and I crack up. Curse you!

I can just imagine Garrus & FemShep, popping off heat sinks, ducking for cover against the same barricade, and both looking at each other's bloodspattered faces with a "Damn, I love you".  I don't know WHY this kind of image sums up my perfect ME3 Garrus/Shep relationship, but there it is.  Image IPB

We all have our fantasies.  Some involve horribly disfigured hybrid babies, and others involve confessions on the battlefield.  S'all good!

Haha. You can't eat his tissue.

On both of my characters, Garrus is easily the most useful companion on my entire team--as long as I remember to tell him not to get flanked by husks. Poor, poor, punched Garrus.

*his scars are AWESOME! Real battle damage :P*

You know, the more I think about it, the more I want to make an ME1 playthrough romancing Kaiden just so I can see the eventual confrontation about Garrus and for the sheer pleasure of cheating on him muahahaha.

Ha ha. I can always count on this thread for my daily dose of hilarious g-man material before bed. Keep it up guys! I'm off for now. But I leave you with a Garrus fact:

*Garrus Vakarian actually was a love interest in Mass Effect 1. He just rocked your world so hard, you can't remember.

I've done it, and I must say, it is immensely satisfying. >_> <_<

@Tootles: Your idea for their love confession makes me think of Mr. and Mrs. Incredible... Blowing up some badguy ship, then turning to each other and going, "I love you..."

@real1dark1purple: LOL! I wish! Thanks for the complement, <3 .. If BioWare hired me, they'd just end up firing me for sticking my nose in the writers' business and telling them to add more Garrus hugs.

Made me think of this. And also some song that I vaguely remember with awesome lyrics.
"Cause if you hold on, they'll puncture your lungs
And separate your spine from your skull."

...yeeeeaaaaaah.

That's advice they seriously need to take.  I'd, ilke....buy two copies of the game.

Really, the Garrus romance did have an effect on how I bought the game.  If I hadn't known/strongly suspected Garrus as a LI in the days up to the release, I wouldn't have pre-ordered nor would I have taken $60 out of my grocery money and lived off of two ramen a day for a month I MEAN, responsibly budgeted my money so that I could buy the game on the release date.:bandit:

I only mention it because if anyone from Bioware ever happens to see this post, I'd like them to know that Garrus has a lot of influence on where my money goes.

I knew that I had seen something like that in a movie, but I couldn't place it!  And it's funny, because Mrs. Incredible certainly has the flexibility...

Secondary Codex Entries:

Genetic Engineering

In the 22nd century, manipulation of the human genome became commonplace. Techniques for genetic engineering advanced to the point where the rich could custom-build fetuses that grew into stronger, smarter, and more attractive adults. In more permissive regions, custom-designed life forms and "uplifted" animals occupied an ill-defined niche between "property" and "sapient being".

Travel to planets with unique forms of life brought an awareness that Earth's biodiversity could be lost if it spliced and hybridized to gain useful alien qualities. The Sudham-Wolcott Genetic Heritage Act was passed by the Systems Alliance Parliament in 2161. It imposed sharp restrictions on controversial uses of genetic engineering, but provided government subsidies for beneficial applications.

SCREENING AND THERAPY: Most governments provide free assessments and corrective therapy for genetic diseases in prospective parents. This has nearly eliminated everything from cystic fibrosis to nearsightedness. The earlier screening and therapy is performed, the more comprehensive the results. Though ideally performed on artificially fertilized zygotes in a lab, procedures are available for embryos in the womb and newborns, out of respect for personal beliefs.

ENHANCEMENT: Improvements of natural human abilities is legal, but adding new abilities is not. Treatments to improve strength, reflexes, mental ability, or appearance are permitted; adding a tail or the ability to digest cellulose is not. Some genetic enhancement is provided for free to Alliance military recruits, but the average citizen must pay for the privilege. The process can take years to reach fruition in an adult.

ENGINEERING: Artificial hybridization of genes from compatible non-human species with human genetic code is illegal. Creation of designed life is broadly legal (and mainly used for terraforming and medial applications), but sentient creatures are heavily regulated, and creation of sapient life is outlawed by both the Systems Alliance and the Citadel Council.

-------

Food for thought on that earlier subject.

Just popping into this thread to say that I seriously love Garrus's helmet. Esp on his 2nd outfit. He just looks so bad ass with it on.

The helmet was really effective in his reveal scene, but after that I get a little case of the sads that you can't see his face.  It's better than what they stick on Thane's head, though.

Speaking of his reveal scene, I only noticed in my second playthrough that you can actually see Garrus on the opposite side of the bridge when you first arrive at the mercenary camp.  In fact, I must have been oggling him a bit too much because he actually shot me!  I knew you could whine at him about taking a few shots at you when you meet up with him, but I didn't know it could actually happen.  You get your first glimpse of me in two years, alive, and your first response is to nearly kill me (and "concussive rounds" my butt!).

I spent my last playthrough watching him, hanging around for a bit and waiting for him to shoot at me, but I never noticed him do it. And I didn't want to wait too long and ruin the continuity so I gave up.  Next time, I will get one of Garrus's rounds in my ass, mark my words.:P

I'm sure the innuendo was intentional.

That being said, I leave the thread with a bit of a BUMP just a bit before the site is down for maintenance.

EDIT: ...And only after seeing the word "Plough" blown up huge do I realize why it looks so funny: is British spelling.  I have a friend who would beat me over the head for this. Ah well. Don't tell her.
