Something is bothering me. I don't know whether this has already been discussed, but I'll share my thoughts anyway.

So, Garrus is always busy calibrating, Thane is always busy with his everlasting meditation, and Jacob is always busy with... uhh.. what exactly? I don't know, but anyway, they're always busy. No one ever leaves his room and Jacob is not even on the same deck as Garrus and Thane. Due to lack of interaction between squad mates, you get the feeling they never talk to eachother.

Then how the hell does Jacob know about Shep flirting with the G-man? No one ever mentions anything about Shep and Garrus/whoever, except for Mordin and his wise lessons. By the way, how did Mordin even notice anything going on between your Shep and LI? It's stupid.

But maybe I'm just worrying too much. And talking too much. XD

Gotta go the men's room sometime.

"Dude, I'm totally gonna bang the commander!"
"You're Turian! That's probably not even anatomically possible!"

It does seem weird, given how private all of these conversations seem to be. (I can see how Miranda might know, since she's the Cerberus-designated second-in-command and might have access to some of the ship's survelliance. But Jack? All alone in the bottom of the bottom deck and not talking to anyone, is like Grunt gonna tip her off or something?)

I'll buy Mordin noticing, too, because he's a genius and was in STG, and the Salarians are the best espionage people in the business.

Or maybe they just noticed Shepard and the LI making out during planet scanning.

EDI's quite the gossip, apparently.

@Gabey5 - Because, you know, squadmate interaction is best when it means nothing at all.  Why would I want my friends/crew to care about (and perhaps listen to) my opinion, possibly basing their actions upon my orders or suggestions?  That would be almost like in real-life, and we can't have that in our fiction!

Image IPB

Pretty much all of the squadmates in ME2 can be influenced during their loyalty missions. I can understand this argument against Garrus in ME1, when your influence on squadmates was basically non-existant, but the entire point of ME2 is to assemble, interact with, and thereby influence the actions of your squad.  Sooo...people are mad that Bioware pulled it off?  Image IPB  You can hate on Garrus because you may or may not find him inept as a leader, but because he can be influenced...it makes no sense, I tells ya!!

I really wanted some sort of comment from TIM regarding Garrus (or Thane, for that matter).  Partly because it would have been awesome hearing Martin Sheen chastising me over my sex life, and partly because my Renegade Shep was reeeally hoping for a possible TIM romance.

Don't mind that guy, he's a troll. There was a discussion on a forum about him pretending to be someone else and stealing his jokes.

Peeps just be jealous that Garrus is the only LI that actually needs Shepard in his life.

Now, I ask you...pathetic or sweet?

E-gads!  And I would hate to think that what he/she posted was supposed to be funny.  Image IPB

Edit: @aznsoisauce - Totally sweet.  Like Garrus's unmentionable fluids.  Image IPB

I knew it. AI's can't be trusted. Next thing you know she'll be making jokes about you.

EDI: Shepard, I heard Garrus  has finally finished his calibrations and now has time for you.

................ that is a joke.
Joker: Way to go EDI! You're really getting the hang of it. Hey Commander, did Garrus's pole come in handy?
Shepard: Joker, shut up or else I'll fracture more than you're thumb on the mute button.

Anyone is now under the impression that EDI might have been watching Shepard and Garrus then shared with Joker since they started to get along so well?

She's just there in your room, able to pop up at any time without you knowing it. I find it creepy XD

I don't know why the characters have to remain so static on the ship. With the handy elevator guide letting you know who was on which floor of the ship, I figured that they would implement some sort of movement amongst the squadmates to warrant that feature.

It would have been so cute if on occassion Garrus, Tali & Thane were having a meal on the Crew Deck. It's even mentioned to Samara that people frequently come into the observation room you stow her in, but you never see another NPC/squadmate in there.

The crew wants to look like they're busy when you stroll around. Once you're off they party wild.

I read a fanfiction the other day (not the best place for info, I know) that had Shepard, the crew and our squadies eat together. There's only one place to get food and although everyone has different schedules (or if they're like Jack and have a particular dislike for someone) it's likely they'd meet up there. BW just doesn't see the need to bore us with the details.

Hehe, reminds me of that t-shirt "Jesus is coming! Everybody look busy!".

If you wait until after you recruit Tali to talk to that Scottish guy in engineering (Ken?) he invites Tali over to join you in a game of poker.  Alas, no such interaction with Garrus.

Re: Garrus' love you or not

I have a feeling that Bioware won't just come up with some half arsed plot line to off the LI. As I remember, SHepard is the story and so all our stories are taiormade to suit the player. Also, Garrus is one of their most popular charactor so they wouldn't disregard him totally. They have something planned that will or course mean a moral choice. maybe having to choose between the LI from ME and the LI froim ME2. The last thing Bioware would do is slate one of their most popular characters. I also have a feeling that they will write something special for our fave truian seeing as how his roamnce scene was more about the feelings for each other so I'm looking forward to that. It just needs a dev to say that Garrus won't be blown off cheaply and he will get the writing he deserves to set the record straight.

Daww. He has the usual "grr serious turian is serious" look but somehow with a dash of puppydog-ness.

I know a lot of people are going to be like, "Eww! Blasphemy! Hissssss!" but Carth is still one of my all time favourite video game characters, and I'm a huge fan of his VA, Raphael Sbarge. He's also the reason I like Kaidan at all.

As for the comparison between Carth and Thane, it's understandable, but the two are fundamentally different. Yes, they both have angsty teenage sons going down the wrong path (Carth's son is with the Sith, Thane's son wants to be an assassin), and their wives are dead, but Carth's actions didn't get his wife killed. At least Carth never said his body was a tool that commits murder, but his soul was scot-free!

KotOR Spoilers incoming, don't read if you want to play the game!

He was a Republic soldier who was betrayed by his superior officer. Admiral Saul Karath switched sides and became a Sith lackey, and Carth's home planet was attacked and (mostly) destroyed. He lost his wife in that attack, and he thought he lost his son, too. Imagine his surprise when his son shows up in the Sith Academy.

Carth has a hard time trusting anyone because Karath was, what he thought was, one of his closest friends, and he admired him. Look how that turned out. And then he saves this mysterious woman (cause in my head canon, Revan is female) from a life pod, and they go on these adventures across the galaxy together. He finds out she's not just a soldier, she's a Jedi! And she's not just any Jedi, she's Darth Revan, the Sith lord who started the war that killed his wife.

He's upset, he doesn't know how to take this news. He knows her, he knows that she's not evil like Darth Revan, but he has a hard time wrapping his head around the notion of light side/dark side. He's just a soldier, not a Jedi. In the end, his feelings win out over his mistrust, and he confesses to the reformed Revan that he loves her, and he wants to be with her. He's willing to let his past go and move on with her.

It was touching, and no matter how many times I play KotOR, it still makes me teary-eyed. Even if you go dark side and romance him, he'll choose to stay on the Star Forge at the end and die with you, because he loves you.

End spoilers.

People are unduly harsh about Carth Onasi, he was well-written with some fantastic banter. Yeah, he had a tragic past, and sure, he was still hurting from it and that may seem like whining, but I thought it was completely justified. If you haven't played KotOR, I suggest giving it a chance.

Down you go!

P.S. Garrus is still my number one, but Carth will always be in my heart.

Oh my God. Guys. Look at the scrolling ad on the Bioware Store.

GARRUS LITHOGRAPH.

I wish there was a bigger pic. Too bad about the male-Shep. Oh well.

Man, I never expected any Garrus merchandise. Now we've got 2 things announced in the past couple days.

Anastassia -- Thank you so much for that post about Carth. All the hatred he gets is entirely unfair and over the top, in my opinion. Disliking a character is one thing, but it really seems like dogpiling on Carth has just become the cool thing to do on the internets lately. And the same goes for all the crap Kaidan gets by proxy just because they have the same voice actor. I mean, really? That's essentially all the two characters have in common, yet people seem to think that just because they have the same voice, they must be the same person. I completely boggle every time I see someone describe Kaidan as "whiny" when he's really anything but.
