Garrus Love and Adoration

HOLY CRAP
In ME2, Garrus is even MORE OF A COWBOY. AHHH I LOVE IT. Even though I was fond of his thoughtfulness in ME1 (he seemed calm and level-headed all the time) I really like the way his character has changed. And the fact that he's romanceable is just the icing on an Awesome Cake.
I do get the feeling that he's more of a "friend with benefits" than an actual romance plot, from what I've seen, though. I haven't completed the romance subplot (this is my first one, as I didn't romance anyone in ME1, lol), but I hope I get some disgustingly cute and mushy romantic dialogue before the game ends.
But yes. Garrus is win. eh fights gunships and doesn't afraid of anything.

Garrus absolutely rocks in ME2. I loved his dialogue and his banter, just wish there was MORE. I definitely missed the squad-chatter while off the ship, though...why'd you take that out, BW? I wanted to hear Garrus' insights on the areas we were going through.
The romance scene was awkwardly adorable, especially with how nervous he was.

Also, I actually think the romance scene cuts off at just the right moment, IMO. I mean, I know we kinda wanted to see jusssssttt a bit more.... ;3
But I think the fade-to-black was extremely tasteful. Besides, don't look a gift-horse in the mouth! We got our Garrus Romance, be thankful! >

Yay, unbanned! Anyway, I saw the music video, and I have to ask, how exactly do you get Garrus to be the one in those scenes? I assume it has something to do with him being your LI?

Yeah, I'm glad we got that. Now here's hoping BW doesn't write it out of ME3 like they seem to have done with the ME1 LI's. *shudders*
We need to start compiling a list of suggestions and recommendations, for both ME3 and ME2 DLC.
Has anyone else completed and continued their game? Personally, I found that a bit of a downer. I know BW isn't going to throw a whole lot of resources at making the after-game game that much "more," but some story continuity would have been nice. I got one line of dialogue from each cremember about beating the Collectors and then it was as if I'd never beaten the Collectors at all.
People were talking about how they were nervous about the upcoming Collector fight, how they thought we "just might make it through," yada yada. It was pre-Omega 4 Relay dialogue. I'm like..."really, BW? You couldn't have at least had one or two crew/squadmate lines that established we had, in fact, beaten the Collectors and (for me and those who chose to destroy the Collector base) were now vigilantes on the run from Cerberus?
And most disappointing, of course, was that when I talked to Garrus and got through his initial post-collector dialogue, he was back to talking about how he thought we were crazy for considering "letting off steam" but how he wanted to try before throwing ourselves into collector space.
So...yeah...a patch or DLC or something would be nice. I understand they can't go into too much story-detail for post-Collectors, but a little something lasting that continued to acknowledge our shared vigilantism (against Cerberus) and destruction of the Collectors would be nice.
/end rant

yes they are, especially since Garrus basicly hangs out in your room when you talk to him. It cracks me up.
Shepard: "Sit there and look pretty, space batman!"
Garrus: "Of course, Shepard!"
I wish you could get more comments from your crew about you having a relationship with Garrus. Especially from Joker and EDI. :3
...and another wish is that i hope you can continue this LI into ME3, maybe have it grow into something even more. (space wedding!!!! ha ha ha that'd be hillarious)

Yes, althoguht to be honest, they made me slightly uncomfortable, if only because his character then felt more like a mannequin or tool to be used and not a "person" during the cuddles. Had there been some dialogue, or if it timed itself out and faded, that would be great. Instead, I just felt like I was using him for my own twisted needs. XD
I mean...there was nothing going on. He's either sitting there and silently suffering me using him, or he's laying there and suffering me using him. XD
Hmmm...I really do wish there was post-game dialogue that acknowledged their relationship or that somehow felt more "alive." When I chose to continue the game, everyone kept talking like I hadn't gone through the relay yet. Even Garrus talked like we hadn't yet consumated the relationship. T-T I'm like...NOOOOO, say something new!

What the hell is up with Shepard having what looks to be a seizure in his lap?! I think it's supposed to look like they are talking, but she's twitching and Garrus just sits there and STARES. It had me laughing so hard.

Yeah, same here. When she's on his lap I think she's supposed to be talking. I'd rather have them both interacting "naturally" and not look like...well...yeah. XD Not saying I don't appreciate BW offering such a thing, but it just felt forced and I felt like a dirty voyeur. *snickers* At least make it look like they're BOTH enjoying it.

That's what your imagination is for, you dirty fangirls ;3 Also, wait for more DLC. Remember BW is going to be giving ME2 a lot of DLC support. So who knows.

I don't see how it feels like a 'friends with benefits' type thing. To me, the real meat of it happens during the game itself, esp. how Jennifer Hale delivers Shepard's lines during Garrus' loyalty mission. Maybe I'm reading between the lines, but that was intense.
I've totes been bitten by the fan fic virus now. I'm trying to write my take on the loyalty mission and WOAH.

I think if it continues into the next game, it'll become something more... I don't think Garrus would like to be on Shepard's Omnitool for booty calls....
BTW
I cannot wait for your fic.'s, new and the updated ones.....

Heehee, we're only a "little" dirty-minded. :3 But really, it did feel awkward when Shep's all over Garrus and he's just...sitting/lying there like a mannequin. XD Here's hoping DLC expands on it. BW promised us a LOT of DLC this time around, but we'll see if they're all talk again or if they'll carry through. I'd love to see things really expand.

I really, really, REALLY hope they continue to expand and develop his character and their relationship. PLEASE, BW, don't write him out of the game. Besides Madolin...I don't think Garrus minds being on-call for booty-call. X3 But I'd like it to at least look more natural.

I hope it doesn't become that either. I'm actually more interested in the reaction of other people to the relationship. Asari-Turian relations seem to be somewhat common, but a human-turian? I could see that becoming a 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' scenario for sure. (Especially if Shepard meets one Papa Vakarian, hehehe)

Yeah, I need to finish the ones I've started. I will though. This one is gonna be kinda a rough ride, since I'm jumping right into the 'ingame' stuff rather than setting up everything beforehand. It's kinda painful writing the beginnings of a briefly-estranged Shepard/Garrus pairing. D;

His sidequest was one of the most tense damn quests I was on in the game, I was nervous and scared for him the whole time. It's over, I'm a Garrus fangirl, definately.
It's really weird to see them cuddling at the end, though. It did seem vaguelly creepy.
Shep: *cuddles with a smile*
Garrus: *thinking* Maybe if I move really slowly, I can make a run for it before she wakes up....
I was touched with the romance scene though, it was very tastefully done. When they touched foreheads together, it was so sweet that it was more meaningful than a scene. I hope we get to continue the Garrus and Shepard relationship into the DLC and ME3, I can't wait.
Now I have to get back to work on my fanfic for these two.

You know what's funny? I was intrigued by the Garrus romance but not totally sold on him, until I played the game. I LOVE HIM, he's easily one of my favorite characters in the game, along with Grunt. I'm having a hard time having my second FemShep resist him for Jacob, he's just so.... awesome.

Perhaps him looking creepy has something to with the fact that half his face is scarred?

xD I don't know, I found the scars quite.... attractive, actually.
I think it may have had something to do with his eyes, they looked like they were still open when I looked. It may have looked better if his eyes were clearly closed, or if they moved slightly as if they were both asleep. It also may have had something to do with them still being clothed and laying on top of the perfect covers. Half naked but covered with a sheet and sleeping would have been my preference.
I like the scene where she's sitting on his lap, though. I watched for a while, and I thought I could see their mouths moving and some subtle motions that said they were having a conversation.
But the bed? Creepy. At least they didn't have my Shep dance like a hooker like Kelly.

How do you get to the cuddling? Already had him in my room and then did the last mission.
Go into your Quarters and next to your Private Terminal it should have another terminal that says something about summoning Garrus. Click it, and he'll be sitting on the couch. You can chose either the couch or the bed.
*time for mindless self promotion*
Just uploaded a fanfiction to Fanfiction.net called "Vertigo" about a bedroom scene with these two. I'll post it once it's finished uploading, I like how it came out.
