So why did they make Shepard take a shower before Garrus shows up? Why no Garrus in the shower with her? :(

Exactly.

1st: Shower scene = woulda been awesomely hot.  Missed opportunity. XD

Coming out fully clothed = wat.

There should have been lingerie involved (hey, guys had Miranda), or a towel...or heck, the ship's batteries could have presented certain opportunities. :P

I guess I should just be glad we had a romance option with Garrus in the first place, but I can't help but wish we could have had a little more than a head-bump...sweet as it was. ^^

P.S. Go watch He's Just Not That Into You for more Garrus love.

Does Keener have more than a split-second (or a speaking) role in the movie? I was tempted to rent it at least out of morbid curiosity, but then I realized I hated about 75% of the main stars in the flick. XP

Also, he had a small part in Beverly Hills Chiuahua... along with another ME star: Liara. ;]

On a somewhat related note, I finally decided to be a monster last night and see what Garrus' reaction is like when you tell him you guys should go back to being friends at the climax of the romance. I recorded it and everything but...it was just so...I couldn't stand it. My heart was really breaking at the sound of disappointment in his voice. And then the bottle of wine! They zoom in on it and it is just...I really can't explain it in words (I've never been good at that anyway, hahaha). Not to mention how depressed they make your FemShep look as he leaves the room.

...But in the end, I scrapped the video because I forgot to click the "record audio" checkbox.

Dunno if I could take on for the team again just for the sake of finally having that footage available to everyone.

Oh cool.

Seeing as I'll have some downtime following a (potential) surgery in a week or two, that'll have to be one of the things to watch on my computer when I'm bored.

Yea... can't help but wish for more...

And now with the notion of comics on mind... I wish aimo had more Garrus (or even Thane) pics or comics up. After all... we got our romance. I was hoping she'd do more. :( As much as Alistair was a great LI... Garrus is more my type. Badass sniper... so glad that at least BioWare gave us the romance.

And I've been thinking about that remark in the ME wiki, about Garrus ultimately being uncomfortable with 'blowing off steam' with Shepard... I don't think that true at all (sorry if this had already been covered... I can't remember with the lack of sleep Garrus has induced on me). Like he said he was nervous around Shepard and given her rep, who wouldn't be? And knowing how goody goody an absolute paragon Shepard can be, she'd probably take that as a sign that it's not right, even though that's wrong. But by the end, it's not a paragon choice to turn Garrus down (especially going by the interrupt that pops up). Well, I guess it's obvious given how badly things end up. I can't believe I watched the scene... but I had to reload and watch the cute headbump. XP

I dunno... guess I'm just trying to convince myself that BioWare isn't going to give us a disappointing conclusion with Garrus's romance. Gah! Must stop being so pessimistic! Not after actually getting Garrus's romance... and Tali's... I've been hoping for a romance with her to pop up...

Garrus is a great character. I can get why a lot of the ladies in here like Garrus; but for myself, as a dude, the thing that makes me like him is that he's got a LOT of loyalty. The galaxy is going to crap and he's loyal to his beliefs on fighting corruption and doing what he couldn't do on C-Sec, and takes them up even when everyone has either crapped out or bailed on him.

You also kind of feel sympathetic to the dude because he literally says he tried to follow Shep's example and gather together a team, and make a difference. Only he was betrayed and his whole squad ended up being killed. He thinks he failed at trying to make a difference, and that he wasn't good enough to follow my Shep's example. So I had my Shep tell him that he can't go forward in the fight without Garrus...and when Garrus found out where Sidonis was hiding and asked for my help, i immediately dropped all that collector business to help the man get payback. At the end, my Shep told him that if he were Garrus, he would've done things exactly the same.

the guy is no-nonsense, he's got my back, and there're no questions about his loyalties. so yeah i sent jacob to his doom in the suicide mission. Garrus watched my back.

Garrus also has that great story about his time on the turian military. Don't know if he tells a female shepard the story, as his little joke/pun at the end was pretty funny, but probably only from a guy's perspective.

Didn't you hear his "Reach and Flexibility" story? That totally ended "and then I hit that good." (Paraphrased for ease.) So there is one in-game instance of Garrus having hot, casual sex with a female Turian he had just spent over an hour beating up (and being beaten up by). That sounds pretty smooth to me.

I guess I was wrong then, I did hear the whole thing about that. When I first heard it I thought it was going to end with him having sex but then I thought he didn't. I see now that it's only with Female Shepard, it still makes the romance interesting. Next time I guess I'll have to think in a dirtier way.

The sex dripping from his voice is at least 10x stronger than usual by the end of that story!! And "more than one way to work off stress." The second way is sex, lol.

I see, I'm a guy and all that but I can't wait to romance him with my female Shepard. I'm going to do that this weekend. The only problem is that I'll have to start a new playthrough, I don't want to wait plus I hate seeing that part where it looks like he was going to die.

The way I look at it?  We didn't force Bioware to write this romance at gunpoint. (Hell, I didn't do anything...I moped for two years, thinking it would never happen, then at the beginning of January started lurking the forums and realized that there were people campaigning for it...and that it might actually happen.  So, off-topic: some thanks are in order I suppose, for fighting the good fight while I was just playing ME1 and sighing a lot...;))

They could've ignored the fan outcry, they really could have.  A romance with a character that has such incredibly different biology is tough.  They could've given the fanboys Tali and just written Garrus off as being too different.

But they didn't.  They put the romance in the game, and I think it's pretty obvious that a lot of care went into writing it.  I have faith that after all that work, Bioware isn't thinking of abandoning it now.  I am 100% confident that they won't just leave the Garrus fans hanging.

A very reasonable take on it, I think.  I, too, am confident that a Garrus romance is here to stay and I do agree a lot of care went into writing it.  Garrus' scenes were superbly done by BW; top notch.  Still wouldn't turn down a shower/ship's batteries passion-fueled scene, of course. :P

Garrus is definitely the most resilient and loyal of the ME2 squadmates. I daresay even more so than Tali. While Tali's allegience is split between Shepard and her people, Garrus has no one else he considers himself tied to. He's Shepard's man to the end (whether that be romantically or platonically).

What I would have loved just before the suicide mission is some scene with my FemShep telling Garrus that if she doesn't survive, it's up to him. He's the only one I can see being in command, someone Shepard would trust not just with her life, but with everyone else's. I'd totally write that fanfic if I wrote fanfiction.

I'm starting to get concerned that the number of "(character name) for ME3!" will start to dilute the efforts of campaigning for a few characters. I would like to see many of them return but it just doesn't seem likely to happen. That being said, if any return it should be Garrus and Tali since they have quite a long history (and possible romance) with Shepard at this point.

I'm pretty confident Liara will be in ME3 as a squad mate. I sense a mission involving the Shadow Broker...

Meh... I think I've just got a bit of a tendency to see the bad outcomes (comes with being a stupid wannabe writer and evaluating all the different directions a story could go... and sometimes deciding the 'pessimistic' ones are for the best). And honestly, I'm not about to out rule the chance that a bad ending with the romance might be the strongest for the story. Not that I'd like it, but... ugh, it's the stupid thought 'think of the story, not your own wants.' -_-

But to me, BioWare's one of the best game developers to out your trust in. They always provide great story and greater characters and ME2... they outdid themselves. Sure, I want more, but I have NEVER played a game that had me at the edge of my seat like this game. It's just amazing. And I think making Garrus an LI was in their best options. Of course... that's because I think he is the best one. At least, as far as I can tell (even though the others were just from watching youtube vids), his romance subplot evoked the most emotion from me. His and Tali's loyalty missions did the same (especially when you have a chance to hug Tali... poor Tali). And his lines come across as the best for me, when in comparison to the rest of the squad mates.

Nah... I trust BioWare. They went way past my expectations with ME2 and I'm sure they'll do the same with ME3... although... I didn't get the sense of Sole Survivor Shepard firing at anyone that Cerberus was responsible for her entire unit's death on Azuke. I was hoping that would happen. I hope I didn't miss it if I did. I was looking forward to that chance since after my first playthrough of ME as a Sole Survivor, I felt like that was the psychological profile best tied in with the story.

Okay... I think I'm rambling and my brain can't think. I'm gonna try to finish ME2 now... or at least get as far as I can. I can't take the wait anymore!!! XP

No, it's absolutely NOT possible at all...not without extensive genetic engineering and very stringent observation/guidance throughout, and even then there would likely be a high rate of failure/mortality.  Not only are they completely different species (who evolved in two completely different biospheres), but they have completely different amino acid chiralities.  It could never happen via natural means.

Personally, I prefer the scenario where if they ever decided to have children it would be via adoption. :) Somehow I doubt children are on either of their minds at this point. :P

It would have to be since they'd have to engineer the cells in the first place.  The logistics of making such a feat possible are mindboggling.  Still, it's a cute fanart. :P
