I've been wondering lately about the role LI's will play in ME3.  I get the feeling that they're going to be plot-important, since Bioware worked so hard to keep Liara and the ME1 interest alive (I think Liara will fill in for any lost love interest or lack of one, since she's proven herself to be a dedicated friend if nothing else).

For some reason, I can't help but imagining a Virmire/Citadel hybrid choice, somehow being forced to choose between saving your LI and some group of people.  A life of one versus the lives on many sort of thing...seems dramatically appropriate. 

My question is, in such a hypothetical situation, would you choose to save Garrus? Or would you save the large group (I haven't specified how large, civilian or military, what species, etc., so if that matters feel free to specify under what conditions you would or wouldn't save them .)

The idea's been following me all day, and I just wondered what other people would do if we were made to choose in ME3.

No, please, nothing like that.  Deus Ex Machina choices just don't work after the suicide mission because that is a much better interface, if Shepard is smart, punctual, and a good leader (s)he can accomplish unthinkable feats.  Garrus would most likely volunteer himself regardless because it is in his character. I have an even  funnier question what would you ladies do if Garrus had to sleep with someone else on the ship to save his life...I kid, I kid, Bioware would never do something that farfetched...

Not to mention I would probably dedicate the rest of my life to cursing Bioware and everything it stands for if they did something like that. That would be just wrong on so many levels. And even better - if you DID choose to save Garrus, the guilt would be so great for him that he'd disappear and you'd never see him again. So it would be like, a total lose-lose situation!

Turns out that the Archdemon is controlling the reapers, and now you have to have Garrus sleep with Kelly to save both of you. If you decide against it, Garrus will still sacrifice himself, by knocking you out of the way before 500 husks devour you. Then Saren will pop out and say, "No Shepard, you are the Reapers!"
By the time you find out, Joker has already run off to elope with the Normandy, Garrus is dead, The counsel has declared war on the Elcor, Kelly is having some sort of demon child, Liara is the next galactic mob boss, and your former squad mates have started a soccor team...

Poor Shepard....
Sorry for ruining ME3 for all of you. Stop Garrus from dieing! Lets start like 15 threads the say something around the same thing!!!

Hmm.

On one hand, she's not some creepy monster that can have his awesome half-Turian monster babies. And she's also not another Turian, which would probably make my Shep feel a little insecure (if anything could make the confident Shepard insecure) given their own obstacles with being together.

On the other hand, it's Kelly. Who knows where that girl has been.

Tough call!

On another note.. Garrus' face marks indicate where he was born, right? So Papa Vakarian should have the same ones, right? It'd be funny if they look -exactly- the same aside from the 'splosion scar.

I just remembered, if you're a Spacer, both Mom AND Dad are alive, but usually one of them is always on-duty. Which means Garrus has to meet BOTH of them! XD

I would be playing it more too. I went home the weekend after it came out (I dorm at my college campus) and managed to just barely beat it over 3 days. It was almost nonstop playing.

I appreciated Thane's romance, it was really touching, and I don't really have any interest in Jacob, but those who do, all the more power to them. As for Kaidan, I was firmly in the "Kaidan or bust" camp until I played ME2, but I still love his character and Raphael Sbarge is still my #1 voice actor.

You're not alone . I liked Kaiden in ME1, so he was my romance in that game. Will definitely do an unfaithful romp through ME2 after I finish it so that I still have that option left open.

*sigh* it's been over a week for me, I'm at around 60 hours (I think some of that is idle time though too), and I'm finally at the final boss. Here's to the idiocracy of deciding to play on Insanity for my first playthrough. Stupid achievement **** complex... <_<

But I do love my Paramour achievement. Can't wait to run into my friends that are absolutely in shock that I was screaming out 'Alien Sex' at the last party (all because I was excited about seeing whether or not it was true that we'd get Tali and Garrus as romanceables). I'll be freaking them out more by going on about how Garrus got my Paramour achievement. My Shepard got her alien sex.

I thought it was ADORABLE.  So much luff.  That's all I need, personally, for the romance.  Just showing them as a couple, and finding security in one another.   No need for any gyrating or boobsuit-ripping sex scenes, IMO.

If BioWare pulls that on us I will hate them forever. It was enough in Dragon Age, we don't need it again in ME3. I want my HAPPY heroic ending damnit. ...One that doesn't involve weird dark sex rituals.
