I always think of turians as having harder skin too, but the Codex mentions several times that their reflective skin doesn't give them any extra protection against anything other than low-level radiation. Hell, Anderson headbutts one and doesn't seem to have a problem (however, Anderson is a badass; this may throw off calculations), and Shep bare-handedly beats the crap out of that one guy in Afterlife on Samara's loyalty mission, so they can't be that hard. I mean, stiff. Er, I mean...you know what I mean.

I lol'd. xD

@RiouHotaru: ::ahem:: I don't think that scout had any complaints. I imagine he would have to, er, change tactics a bit regardless, given the, uh, drastic change in.. terrain. At least, until he got used to his surroundings and formed a new.. um.. strategy?

So wait, this is the -tame- board? :P

EDIT: Okay, that came out even -dirtier- than I meant it to now that I re-read it. Skirting around the subject apparently results in very.. unfortunate analogies. D8

*snerk* ^_^  You're so silly.  And of course the recon scout didn't complain, it was a tiebreaker round!  But Shepard is an entirely new opponent, and you need a new strategy for a foe you've never had the chance to conquer! B)

But in all seriousness, I'm fairly certain that, for Shepard, he takes it nice and easy.  As he himself said, "I want something to go right.  Just once.  Just..." So I'm fairly certain he's very careful not to rush anything or um...*cough* overextend himself? :innocent:

I am curious what Garrus's standing is with his family and Turians in general. The information available on Turians suggest they're very similar to a militaristic hybrid of a caste and sort of Japanese society, but there's no data that I've seen about their family structure. Quitting C-Sec without the assisting a spectre excuse may have been fairly dishonorable, though I'm assuming working at the Citadel requires a better than average class rank. His father was able to block his spectre training so it's implied that there's some level of familial control on the future of their children despite the early obligate military service.

Because the occupations in space life aren't as conducive to traditional family structures, it's difficult to say anything at all about the culture of Turians and many other races where we've yet to play a part on a significant colony or home planet. That's something I really liked about getting to visit the Migrant Fleet and Tuchanka in ME2 and hope to see more of in ME3 or other ME media.

I also wish we got to see any alien children and families, though given the context of the game it's rarely appropriate. It's also challenging to pull off well and doesn't seem extremely important to most story and plot developments in space opera. Here's to hoping we get to visit a significant Turian colony or the homeworld at least in ME3!

This is why I want to go to Palaven in ME3. The Turians are, to me, the most interesting of all of the species, and yet get the least amount of backstory. You see them -everywhere- but we never hear anything about them. They were the first species to make contact with the humans. Why don't we know more about them?

We know way too much about the Asari and Krogans, and for the Quarians, we've actually -seen- the inside of the Flotilla and spoken to the officials in charge of the entire migrant fleet. Yet all we know about Turians is the tidbits you can glean from Garrus' stories.

It's the Turians' turn.

On the other note, I really want to see alien kids too. Or old people that aren't using the default adult mesh (Really, BioWare? Helena Blake has the same body as the 20-year-old waitress? Really?). Variety, please!

@RiouHotaru: Well, if we'd gotten an DA-style cutscene, I'm sure Shepard would have been entirely satisfied. If there's anything you learn from BioWare, it's that the sex is always great, even the first time!

Honestly, I try not to think about what happens after the fade-out with Garrus and FemShep, because I can only imagine it will end in awkward disaster if Garrus' flirting is any indication. I just don't think he knows anything about humans. Let's hope Shepard watched the vids, even if Garrus didn't.

Well, Helena Blake even in ME1 kept herself in pretty good shape for her age...

As for a Turian/Human sex scene...well...somehow I think it would be agonizing to animate properly. Especially given the radical body-types.

I get the feeling Garrus's dad is pretty hot stuff on the turian homeworld--(presumably) retired C-Sec investigator living on Palaven with enough pull to keep his kid out of the Spectres? I also have an odd feeling that he probably thinks Garrus is dead; even the Illusive Man says that Garrus went off the grid after ME1 (though TIM is also a massive troll and he sends you right after Archangel, so not really conclusive).

I really hope we visit a turian colony (I DID spend a lot of time finding all of your damn insignias)/homeworld/something in ME3. They're totally my favorite race. I would buy the hell out of a novel about turians.

...So, I'm actually curious.  Who here would like to speculate on how Garrus...*cough* "performs", hm?

Given his attitude, I see him as something of a rather patient lover.  Someone who takes his sweet time "exploring" and what not.  Though I'm sure he doesn't lack for umm...strength and... stamina, hm?

...:innocent:

At least he's not tossing himself on you like Ash/Kaiden from ME1, right?! :o

Do you know how impossible it is to talk to Kaiden without romancing him though?! I'm not sure it IS possible. I basically have to be a complete ass to get rid of him, otherwise he starts getting all cheesy, "Do you talk to all of your officers like this?" prompt and I'm like...yeah...only the dialog I get is "Of course, but I don't enjoy talking to all of them" in this very suggestive tone. ARGHHH!

Why don't I get the option...let's just be friends? I haven't found it yet if there is one.

It's possible to kill the romance when he first talks about "Brain Camp". Just wait until he says something along the lines of 'I'm sure you didn't come over here to hear about my past' (I don't remember the exact line) then pick the renegade dialogue choice. You'll say something like 'I'd given up waiting for the good part' and the romance will be killed. It may be possible to re-start it after that, but I've never managed it. So all of you not wanting to romance Kaidan, but not wanting to Virmire him either, there is a solution.

(I love how "Virmire" is a verb now [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie])

Okay, so on my third play through I was confronted with this conundrum again - the dialog after the one you just specified gives you the option to tell him that he's out of line when he tentatively asks you about "mixed signals". On my second play through I had thought the "You're out of line" dialog would be renegade, but when I picked it this time it was politely saying that you were speaking to him only in the capacity of another officer, nothing more.

Sometimes the dialog prompts are misleading to what the character says - a minor pet peeve of mine. I'll read the dialog prompt, expecting Shepard to say something a certain way,  and it will come out totally different than what it sounded like initially.

I don't know, I'd kind of be disappointed if Garrus' dad did turn out to be so influential. It's just so funny how out of all the people you meet you always end up picking up people who are either orphans, or their parents were super important in some way: The daughter of the richest man in the galaxy (Miranda), the daughter of the most reviled human traitor (Ashley), the daughter of one of the most powerful matriarchs (Liara), the daughter of one of the Quarian admirals (Tali).

I just kind of like the idea that his dad was just a retired cop, one of those working-class types.

@Faerlyte: I hate that the only way to get Kaidan to lay off is to play superior officer. He starts trying to romance you in the -second- conversation with him. Gah, this is why I think Kaidan is too clingy.

Tell me about it... What is it about being nice to someone and getting to know them that automatically equates to "OMG I want to bone you!"?! Drives me nuts. I mean good grief...where's the option for,  "Uh, no, I was just being personable actually...not interested in getting in your pants dude. Back to what we were actually talking about?"

It's pretty sad when talking to a character automatically assumes a romantic interest...I wanted the XP and codex entry, damn it!

Unfortunately I've also had this happen in real life :pinched: But I am dealing with teenaged males.

It made things very awkward with one of my good male friends for a while. ....Actually, it's still awkward

I'm late to the thread, but I have to say, getting Garrus back was like meeting up with an old friend.

On a related note, I didn't think he could be more interesting or badass than he was in the first one. Bioware proved me wrong.

That's probably why you have to initiate the romance so bluntly in ME2, no more Kaidan incedents.

I know, right?? I had some spoilers before the game, one of them was Joker's line about 'missing the old Garrus', so I freaked out and wondered what they could have done. I should've had more faith in BioWare. Garrus in ME2 is awesome.

After finished watching "He's just not that into you" i feel really sorry for Brandon Keener. Everytime he got a scene, i always see him as Garrus wearing a human skin suit. oh man...i'm totally addicted to his sexy voice. Can't believe he only got ONE scene for the whole movie !

Oh, and on the question about music: I doubt that was Garrus' preferred choice. I take the motion he makes after he starts it (the arm-spread thing) to be him nonverbally asking, "Is that right?" It's just filtered through his ****iness and general lack of vulnerability. (WHICH IS ONE OF THE THINGS I TOTALLY LOVE ABOUT GARRUSMANCE, BTW. Thane opens up to you whether or not you romance him; he's just uber-tragic. Jacob's baggage is rather small, and dealt with easily on his loyalty mission. But Garrus, after all his bravado, finally shows you how much pain he's been through during the romance scene. You can see it during his loyalty mission, too, but he's still trying to hide it with anger until you Paragon him out of killing Sidonis.)

I think Garrus is just operating off of what he knows about human sexuality, which would mostly be sleazy sex in nightclubs and stuff. He wouldn't know about the human conception of (and obsession with) love and long term relationships, or that those encounters are supposed to have a distinctly different emotion to them than random casual sex. So he just picks club music because he knows humans get busy to it.

I really need to write a fanfic; I have all these crazy conversations between Shepard and Garrus bubbling around in my head. One of them revolves around bits and pieces Garrus has picked up about human sexuality during his work in C-Sec and his time on Omega. ("There's a joke that a recruit isn't truly a C-Sec officer until the first time he walks in on someone having sex. You'd be surprised how much it happens. Sometimes exhibitionists purposefully call in an incident right before they get started. We aren't allowed to arrest them for indecent exposure and goddamn wasting our time until the third instance, since they're technically on private property." :D )

Omg how many new pages. And I have read them all :D... haha about that pic where Shepard is pregnant...lol I found it a little bit disturbing aswell, but probably because maybe I watched too much hentai xD joking hahah. But nice piece :), cute. I already said that I am giving challenge to people who knows to draw, to make how turian/human hybrid baby would look like xD.

I hope that Bioware will give us nice time in whole ME3 with Garrus and won't screw it up. I hate aswell what David Gaider have done in Dragon Age. I even have some distance abit from that game. I am sometimes maybe too sensitive but games should be there for you to have fun with it and not to make you upset. ME1 and ME2 made me to feel so epic about my Shepard, I enjoyed very much. No need for too drastic steps to make something unique and interesting Bioware ;). I just hope if we reach turian planet that some turian woman doesn't come up with Garrus child or something :P please no.

I don't know anything about this wars on forums about other LIs that is just too stupid and childish.

edit: And I hope aswell that they won't kill Garrus in the end :P haha...
Uh when I remember our talks in ME1...I ll never forget when Garrus came with: I have to tell you something Shepard... I was like omg He likes me ^^. I even didn't spoil myself with ME1 at all, I just heard that Kaidan is romancable so I thought in that moment that Garrius was aswell haha but he was not and he wanted to tell me some other things xD. Did Bioware wanted us to react like that or something I dunno? x)
Garrus has such big heart. I will never forget when we were on Horizon and I felt like sh*t in front of Kaiden and Garrus was on my side telling Kaidan that he is blind and stupid. Just wow... someone who looks like half crocodile-half bird-half cat-half dragon is better than a human. Humans are overrated :P I am done with these Planet Earth type of guys. WThave Aliens...Where are they? grrr

So, finally finished the game. For the first time.

Miranda dies, but oh well, I have to live with that...

Question: How does this cuddling after the last mission work?

I'm really, really looking forward to ME3, but I hope that the Big Bad is better then the Harbinger, who in my opinion just didn't quiet live up to Saren.

I'm sad that we can't 'invite Garrus up' after the game is done. Why not? I think Jacob and Femshep look horrible sitting on the couch together- it's just really weird. I think Garrus should come up and we hook up Xbox or something and shoot some stuff together.

I only did Jacob once, just to see the scene. After that, I'm all for Garrus. Our 'scene' is just too sweet to miss.

Hm? You can totally invite Garrus up to your room. Right next to your private terminal, there's a 'invite ______up' intercom or something. Try standing near your terminal and rotating the camera, I kept targeting the terminal by accident at first. You can then cuddle on the bed or couch. I wish it wasn't complete silence, though. A touch creepy.

You know what's funny? I'm on my third playthrough (to tackle the Thane romance after Garrus and Jacob) and I just got around to actually reading the Cerberus report after the mission end when I got Garrus, and it says something along the lines that Garrus may not be capable or useful in the mission now that he's been injured, but that they want to keep him around for Shepards' comfort.

It makes me wonder how much Cerberus knows about Shep. O,o I wonder if there are classified reports in Miranda's office about sexual tension between Shep and the party members of ME1 or something.
